I had, by far, the best quote from RM Roofing Inc. I met Ralph, Alex (Estimator), Eliza & Freda (Office staff) and the roofing team. Each one impressed me with their professional demeanor, politeness and proficiency in their respective areas of expertise. Communication was excellent. I was never in dark as to the progress and the outcome. The work was completed on time with quality results beyond my expectations. Great price for the money. These guys are rock stars! During the last few months, we had some intense rain in Chula Vista and discovered our roof had a leak. So we contacted our insurance and they sent out someone to give us a quote. That company had their guy climb on to the second story roof and look at the entire roof for damage. He also walked inside are attic space to see if there was any damage. All he found was some tile that shifted and he said they would need to reseal an area around where the ducting for the AC was at. Quote was around $1200 and since our insurance deductible was way higher than that, insurance said it's on us to get it fixed. So we decided to "shop around" and reached out to RM Roofing for a quote since they had good reviews on Yelp. We scheduled and app for 2 weeks out and told them we had a leak in the roof. Their guy LITERALLY came out to our house, walks to the backyard, looks up at the roof, and tells my wife "I'm gonna send you 2 quotes, one to do the entire roof and one to do a 10x10 section" WTF?!!! He didn't even climb the roof to look at the damage. Nor did he go in the attic. I have no idea how these guys have a 4+ star rating. Fast forward a week and we get an email saying the first quote is $2950 & second quote is $6950 (love how companies say $2950 instead of $3,000 so the customer thinks they actually put some thought into getting an "accurate" quote) I work as a mechanic. Imagine a customer bringing a car to me and saying "my car is smoking" or "there is a leak under my car" and I just look at the hood (I don't open it) and say "okay, I'll give you a quote to change out your entire engine and I'll give you a quote to rebuild your entire engine and you let me know what you want to do?" This is ridiculous to think you can get an accurate quote by standing in the back yard and looking at the second floor roof and saying "I'll send you 2 quotes" Would NEVER recommend these guys to anyone. read more

I have reached out to the Company several times explaining to them via the contract that it was never in the scope of work to have gutters removed. However, they took it upon themselves to remove the gutters and throw them away so now our building has no gutters on the top portion and water just spills down onto the patios and down on to the walls causing water intrusion. We have contacted the company several times and they refused to provide a copy of the signed contract as requested because they are trying to hide the fact that the gutters were never in the scope of work, and that they took it upon themselves to remove them and throw them away. Their response is that the gutter weren't in the scope of work. Exactly. Then why did you remove them and throw them away? We have constantly received the runaround not only from the office manager, but the business owner. They did not provide the correct scope of work and And has even cost us more damage, turmoil, and stress for our homeowners and tenants. The very first time I had reported these failures. Their only response was that they had fired Scott, and nothing else. They will do just enough to try and cover themselves and not provide actual solutions. This company working in conjunction with our old management company was a perfect storm to allow two subpar results to charge money for the wrong work. We luckily were able to fire our management company, and now we are seeking solution through, not only yelp, by the Better Business Bureau and then moving towards litigation. Very sad to see what businesses do to customers these days and what they feel they can get away with. Please do yourself a favor and not hire this company to protect your investments and your home. We are a 12 building condominium units that have 50 owners and residents. Office manager, Blanca has not responded to our multiple requests to schedule with our current management company or resolve our requests and/or properly navigate a solution and how to move forward. read more

I highly advise not seeking business with RM Roofing. Our condo complex had one of our roofs redone with RM Roofing. In the process and aftermath, RM Roofing: 1. Removed our condo gutters and did not replace them. This has resulted in water intrusion into the side of our buildings during the heavy rainstorms in January-March 2023. Any reasonable roofing company would reinstall pre-existing gutters as the finishing touches of their work. 2. Lack accountability to their signed contract and are uncooperative in providing our HOA board members (who are authorized to view the contractual clauses) with the executed copy of the agreement. 3. Refused to provide a solution to the above, other than seeking a quote with them for new gutters, which is unreasonable. We need our gutters installed back in place according to how they were installed beforehand. If resolution is not found via RM Roofing's replacement of our gutters, I will not be surprised. Their customer service and effort to make-do have been poor and I do not recommend them. read more

this is a follow up on my first review. Ralph responded back by asking for clarification and that I call their office. I did and explained to them the contract and location and what was not done specifically. I also informed them that our PMC would contact them as well in which Caden did. Over the course of three weeks of "let us review the contract" RM came back and informed our PMC that the gutters were not in their scope of work. The gutters were not part of the contract, if so why did they remove gutter systems off five residences, install new roofing and not re install the existing gutters that were on the five residences. RM Roofing removed all of our gutters. what'd did RM do with them? We asked to see the signed contract because we do not have a "signed" copy. RM roofing declined under " confidential reasons". So, we had new roofing installed on five of our residences but RM roofing did not put our old rain gutter systems back on. RM roofing will not tell us what they did with our rain gutters. RM roofing says replacing rain gutters was not in their scope of work. However, Rm roofing removed property off our 5 residences that they state was not in their scope of work, yet cannot tell us where our property is. RM roofing refuses to provide us a copy of the signed contract and denies responsibility for Five 1320 square foot residences that people live in. Five residences that are all occupied by good San Diegans who have had rain gutters systems taken 11 months ago and now through a rainy winter have incurred water damage because of a lack of due diligence in re installing g existing rain gutters. A complaint shall be filed with the BBB to forward to the housing commission of this end work product and those families affected. read more

RM roofing put a new roof on one of my HOA complex buildings. They took all the gutters, never put then back and tossed all gutters. RM Roofing is now refusing to give us the signed contract from the scope of work. The company is stating the gutters were not part of the contract, exactly then why did you take an entire buildings gutters and throw them away? with the heavy rains the building is now have drainage and water intrusion into the siding. We had re-roofing done one month ago to include adding a solar fan, a skylight, exhaust fan, O'Hagin vents, a low-e therma sheet, a weather guard, and cool roof shingles. The job went great and we are very pleased. Initially Ralph came over to write up a quote and we talked about my desired scope for the project. When he wrote up the scope and quote it looked perfect on the first attempt and it included everything we had discussed. Miriam in the office was wonderful and answered all our questions. She allowed us to bring home large samples to hold up against the home as decided the color of the roof shingle. Once we chose our color, RM Roofing went completely out of their way to obtain the color, which we found out was a less popular choice. When it came time for installation the crew worked with my wife while I was on a business trip and she mentioned everything went flawlessly. They began by showing her all the materials per the work scope and ended with making sure everything was picked up and gutters placed back up. We are very pleased with the outcome and would have chosen RM Roofing all over again if given the choice. And as far as the materials we selected and were installed, we do definitely notice our home is cooler in the hot summer and we run our AC less - all good for both us and the environment. What kind of roofing company removes gutters during a standard repair project, doesn't put them back on after the project is done, the gutters disappear, and then the roofing company claims reattaching the gutters was "not within the project scope of work"? In what scenario would anyone ever want their gutters tossed out just because they have a new roof? The back and forth excuses and lack of accountability by RM is astonishing. After one of our heaviest rainy seasons in over a decade, the amount of water intrusion damage and overall hassle caused to this building and its owners due to RM's complete lack of common sense, could have been completely avoided. I hired RM Roofing though my Solar installation company and cannot be happier for that partnership!! I drove to the site prior install when Ralph's team was prepping the roof. They immediately focused on sharing their plans and methods and answered all of my questions. I left feeling very comfortable that my roof was in the hands of highly competent professionals. I returned when the Solar installers were starting and they couldn't say enough about the quality of the job the roofers had done! They had reached out to RM Roofing basically because of my problematic tiles (very old metal ones). The platform installed was exactly what was needed and really made the Solar install go without a hitch. At the end of the install, RM Roofing finished up all of the edges and did lots of little extras to really finish it off (beautiful fascia work). Ralph and his team performed a lift and replace roof job on my home a few months back. I'd solicited many quotes (many!) and went with a balance of overall price/warranty and who I felt was the most honest/professional company who answered every question I had without issue. Ralph/RM impressed me most and got my business. Context: Ralph didn't just gloss over my roof and magically present a price (several other companies did just this, others never came out and emailed quotes...). He got up on the roof, spent some time looking at it, heard my concerns/issues and presented something reasonable and honest I felt. He backed up his quote with explanations and tons of detail. Ralph and his crew took less than a week to re-roof my home. Ralph was there very often, listened to any feedback I had, took pictures for me to show me what I couldn't see, and kept everything running smoothly. I meant to give this review with my first experience with RM roofing but since this is my second experience let me rewind to my first experience. The company is great!!! I talked to Miriam because of a roof leak and she was very attentive and and extremely nice. She scheduled me in and Ralph came the same day in the late afternoon. They were very accommodating to my schedule which was awesome. Ralph came over and stopped the leak. He was very good about taking pictures before and after the repair. A+++. Fast forward today got another roof leak in another room and Miriam got me penciled in again. Very very nice lady and easy to deal with. Ralph had to come twice for this repair because there was two different areas that needed to be sealed but he took care of it. Entering my house he was courteous and was even wearing a mask!!! This is the first time I have replaced the roof on my single family house. When I started, I had no idea what I was doing. I interviewed 5 roofing companies and learned a lot about products and processes along the way. I went with RM Roofing. I made a good decision. After the recent storms i noticed a small water stain on my ceiling, so idid my researh on yelp and decided to call RM sevices. Ralph quickly returned my call and went out of his way on a busy weekend to stop by and check out my roof. I was out and about running errands and when i got to my house (a few minutes late) he was already on my roof looking for possible causes for the leak. After about a half hour, Ralph, the owner, found a few suspicious tiles, corrected them and added some caulking to ensure they stay put. He gave me a fair quote for replacing a section of the tiles, but recommended to hold off on doing that because what he had just done may have fixed the issue. Ralph then gave me his card, and told me to give him a call after the next rains. After getting numerous quotes and reading the reviews, I decided to go with this company. The first red flag was being late for the quotation appointment. Appointment time was scheduled for a 1-hour block to which they were late by almost an hour. I did not receive any correspondence until I sent a message asking where they were. Within seconds of sending the message, I finally got a call that they were still with a previous client and were running behind. The quote was received 24hrs later and I called to set up an appointment for the job. I should have kept my appointment with the other company which was already set. Instead, I canceled and went with RM Roofing. The appointment was set for 9 am, no one showed up nor called. After waiting almost 2 hours with no updates, I called the company, only to be told that they are still at another job and that they would be there at noon. No one showed up nor called for over another hour. The workers did not show up until 1 hour and 40 minutes late. I had another appointment but left an adult waiting for them as I couldn't afford to miss my other appointment. I was barely 2 minutes from home when they were wrapping up the job, I immediately got a call from the office for payment. It was quite interesting that the office couldn't provide proper customer service by keeping me updated with their lateness but had no problem calling for payment. Additionally, I was never informed that the forms of payment are cash or check nor that they charge you an additional 3.5% processing fee if you pay with your credit card. Needless to say, although the job was completed; I am disappointed in the level of customer service received. I have no plans on using this company again, especially when I took a day off from work for this particular appointment. read more
