Ignore Cox's expressions of wanting to help resolve this mess of their own making! I have tried IN THE LOCAL COX OFFICE to get them to drop the ridiculous $75 charge for 'service'. Their own posted statements detail no charges for service calls needed because of failure of their equipment or connections. Yet their visit to my home was prompted by failure of their DVR box to connect to Cox service...this AFTER giving me the WRONG COX DVR TO REPLACE IT. AND FAILURE TO TECH FIX ON LINE. THEY GAVE ME NO NEW EQUIPMENT OR PARTS, JUST A TECH MAKING A PHONE CALL TO NATIONAL TECH HQ. COX HAS Extremely horrible, Awful terrible, Completely no good service!! Cannot get anyone to answer, text, chat, return calls, etc re a total connection failure on their end. This is an uncaring and incompetent group masquerading as a cable company and getting rich in the process. THEY Don't HAVE ENOUGH COMPETITION! One last: the 'manager' at the local Cox business office is patronizing, imperious, indifferent. I am looking at all possible replacement options...you might want to do the same. read more

The service is okay, the people are nice, the rates are horrific! I'm really tired of $200 a month for 57 channels and there's nothing on! As a cable provider they will be running themselves out of business and maybe it's planned, just can't justify the expense. So yet I gave it one star b cause it's so expensive for such little service. read more

I have used COX for years, on and off. Their service is great. I have never had problems that could not be resolved with either a phone call or a visit from one of their many courteous and knowledgeable technicians. My problems come from their sales and billing departments. If there is a billing issue you can count on spending hours, days, weeks and months trying to resolve the issue; if it ever gets resolved at all. I have had several issues with being quoted prices only to find out that the information was incorrect or input improperly. When I try to address the problem, I get transferred from one representative to another with each one negating what the others say. No one is on the same page. It's a nightmare. If that isn't enough, try proving that you returned a piece of equipment they're billing you for. I gave a technician my Contour box because I was so frustrated with trying to get my bill corrected that I decided to throw in the towel. I asked the technician for a receipt. Instead he called the office and I heard him as he spoke to the representative giving her the information for the box I returned. Circumstances forced me to have to move to another state with a two day notice. This only added to the problem of trying to verify the return of the equipment. Two months later, I am still fighting this issue. I have tried everything I can think of to clear my account. I have followed several instructions and have run into a dead end on each and every one of them. I was in an online chat for 2 hours while one representative filled out a form (literally two hours). About three reps told me to go to a local COX Solutions store. At the location I went to I was told that the stores can only look up accounts in this state. I would give COX a perfect rating if not for these things. This isn't the first time such things have happened to me with COX. I swore I would never use them again after the first couple of incidents, but I did, hoping things would change. I was wrong. read more

Claire is amazing. Her energy is contagious. I use Cox internet and they have the fastest internet in town. Cox shows up when the say they will and repair the problems straight away. Their internet has been very reliable lately and if their is an outage they have a recording on their phone that states what it is and when it might be finished. I have never had to wait in a line when there are multiple people they usually multitask so that you know someone is working on your order. read more

You know, the employees who work at my local Cox Communications are really nice and make an effort to help you out. The technician I dealt with was very helpful and cool. I also cannot complain about their internet service which has been reliable for me most of the time. The issue here is with their TV service. I switched a while ago to the new Contour Whole Home DVR service. Which allows you to record shows on multiple TV's in your home. I have been a customer for around 23 years, and never experienced so many problems, which I have in this short amount of time with their so called "flagship" TV product, Contour. When trying to watch a recording, certain channels, and on-demand tv and films it has major issues at all times with the sound, and picture. Which simply ruins your entertainment experience. The picture constantly breaks up, gets pixelated, distorted. The audio always drops and cuts out. There is an issue with high noise feedback from my 5.1 home theater speakers, which only happens with the Contour box, not my other various devices connected to my home theater system. The ongoing sound and picture problems are the deal breaker for me.... These problems do a really good job of ruining films and shows to watch. The Contour DVR also has a variety of other major bugs too, like sluggish menu controls. Wrong TV guide schedules. And the list goes on.... I have done some research about this product. Cox rushed this product to consumers before all the problems were fixed. This service has bad firmware, which simply does not work properly. It is not a finished product, because Contour is basically a Beta which consumers have to pay a premium for. It is not up to Cox Communications to fix the software (firmware) on these DVR's, which is a bad idea. I doubt Cox is even working with the manufacturer, Cisco, to fix the faulty software. It is up to the company which manufactures the DVR to make updates. I have read this product has been out for years now, and these problems still persist. Obviously Cox has not worked with Cisco enough to fix this broken software. I have had 3 technicians come to my home to fix the Contour problems, and each time the technicians could not fix the issues, but I don't blame them. The fault goes to whoever really runs the show at corporate level, and whoever designed and approved this product for consumers, not the local guys. Everything points to shoddy dysfunctional software in this product.... The thousands of poor reviews I have read about contour online from other customers also point out that the trend of poor service is a software based issue... If you are looking into the Contour DVR, DO NOT make the MISTAKE of buying this service. Until they fix these crippling software issues. I heard they are releasing a new contour DVR called "Contour 2". Hopefully with better software, which one would hope will remedy the clunkiness and bugs in the original Contour DVR. Let's hope there is a fix sooner than later. For now I will just be sticking to their internet service, because like I said, I have no gripes about their internet service or their local staff and support. read more

The people that work for Cox are very nice. But it's the worst kept secret in town that the service is just horrible. Internet speed is so slow you're better off going to a coffee shop and using the public WiFi. Super expensive too. So at least u get to overpay for lousy service. read more
