When checking in I asked the person if she could recommend a veterinarian, she gave her veterinarian's name. Dr. Mark Hoffman of the Weatherford animal hospital. We made the call and had her in his office within the hour. The prognosis was not good. We increased the medication she was on in hopes of improvement. Her condition worsened the next day. We had to make the dreaded decision no pet owner likes to make and put her down. We cannot thank Dr. Hoffman and his staff enough for their kindness and care towards her and us. If traveling through Weatherford Okla and are in need of medical care for a pet, we highly recommend Dr. Hoffman and the Weatherford animal hospital. The second, my dog contracted ring worm from her stay with Heartland. My husband called to confront them about the ring worm and they quietly dismissed it without so much as an apology. I, of course, was not about to take her back to them for treatment! Bad business practice to allow an otherwise healthy dog to come into contact with an unhealthy contagious animal (the lobby is filled with various dogs and a shedding sleepy cat that is permitted to roam freely), especially if the intent is to generate business by making a healthy animal sick in order to then treat it. I am extremely disappointed in the cleanliness and the lack of professional decorum here at Heartland Animal Hospital, and will not be trusting them with the care and safety of our animals again! I would further discourage anyone else from trusting their animals with this vet either, especially since ring worm is going around the clinic unacknowledged. Who knows what other diseases and contagions are floating around their unsanitary establishment? Better safe than sorry in this instance.
