Had very low expectations given all the bad reviews. I have a rooftop box on my car and can't do any drive thru car washes. I've used a couple self wash places that were mediocre so this also gave me low expectations. The rooftop box and front grill of my car was covered in bugs. Wheels had lots of dirt and dust and the car was just generally dirty from parking under trees and the long drive to work from where I live in the mountains. Well first off - there is a setting specifically for bugs stuck to your car! There is also a very strong power wash that removed all the bugs after soaking them. Didn't have to scrub. There was a soak specifically for wheels too. The timer stopped at $15 and I had to put my card in again and I think the minimum is $5. I didn't really need that much time after putting in my card the second time but at least now I know. So the wash was $20. Next time I'll move faster. I'm very satisfied with how clean the car is. read more

I was in Boulder recently and found myself in need of a self service car wash. Coyote Wash was just up the street so I gave it a shot, even though the reviews weren't so great. The wash worked great, no issue with the services I used. My wash required I swipe my card twice, the first time I ran the wash until the time maxed out, the total cost was $10. The second swipe to complete the wash was an initial charge of $10 that reduced to $5.81 once posted to my account. When in the area again, I will return. read more

This is a great coin car wash. Has change machines and takes credit cards. As someone who goes on a lot of road trips, this is exactly what I look for in a self serve car wash. Clean and well maintained. I often ride on long motorcycle trips and use yelp to try to find places like this. Too bad some people have it low review for wrong reason on their credit cards. I came here yesterday to give my car a thorough wash after a dirty Colorado winter. Not only was this the most expensive car wash I've ever been to but I ended up having to re-wash my car after I got home and wipe the dirt off. I clipped my floor mats into the clamps on the wall and after spraying them they kept falling off onto the filthy ground. This ended up wasting more time, as I'm trying to hold the spray hose while picking my mats up and clamping them in again. I'm disappointed with my experience here and I will not be back. read more

YUCK. Are they really thinking this place is cleaning my car? My car wasn't that dirty, but thought it would be nice to get the dust off. First of all, I didn't read the reviews because I was just driving through Boulder and saw this place. I wouldn't have gone. Is there soap in this machine, because I didn't see any. I kept checking to see if I had it on the right selection, it said soap but there wasn't any coming out. I turned it to rinse, just to get out of this place. I rinsed my car and left. Two miles later I got out at Target and looked at my car, it looked worse then before I went there!! What a waste of time and money. I just told my husband that I'm writing this review. He said don't you remember I brought my car there in May and complained of the same thing. I guess I dont' remember. Awful then, Awful now. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Southern vacuum has no hose and of course no out of order sign so I gave them $1.50 for free. Went to the most notthern vacuum and BEWARE OF NAILS everywhere along with trash all over. This place is a convenience and less then the one off Canyon Blvd but I would never recommend this to anyone. This place is rarely busy and everytime I have been here all the equipment is working! That's a rarety from where I come from. I love the do-it-yourself washing booths equipped with everything from soap, sprayers, wheel cleaner, etc. They even have little hooks on the walls to hang up your car mats and spray them down. I will say this place gets a little sketchy at night though, behind it is a popular spots for vagrants to hang out and it seems like some drug dealing goes down. read more

Hey all, I've been a local resident of Longmont, Lafayette and Boulder my entire life and visited tons of do-it-yourself car wash places in the area. I've never had a problem with any of them until today at Coyote Carwash. For a 3$ wash it charged me 3.50$ the first time. The 3 minute timer was done as I arrived at the final rinse the cycle, again, never had this problem before. Thinking that this was a bit odd I decided to get my cell phone out and synchronized the stop watch function when I began a second wash cycle which cost me 3.50$ again. When the wash timer was done I checked my cell phone and found a nearly 20 second difference! I was baffled and angry that a 3 dollar car wash had turned into 7. Being my first time AND last time using this car wash I can't speak to whether this is a common problem. However, for a business whose entire business model is predicated on the time they deliver to their customers, to overcharge AND have that big a time difference is unacceptable and borderline criminal. I can't decide if this was a fluke or if this is common knowledge among boulder residents. Either way, the better business bureau might be hearing from me on this one. read more

Lately the credit card readers are not working and other patrons need to tell you to use the coin machine. Last Saturday, I inserted my credit card but there was no information registering on the card reader so I did get $5.00 worth of coins. Today, my bank statement shows that my card was charged $10!!!!!! The owners of this Coyote Car Wash on 28th need to revamp their payment system. This is not the first time I have had fraudulent charges on my credit card. And the wash this time was short enough to have cost $3.00 (as usual) NOT $5.00! I was also charged $10 when the screen said the final charge was $5.50. I will never use a car wash like this again since I've had the same thing happen at another location using the same kind of card reader. It doesn't matter if you push the stop button and the screen clears back after telling you your total... you will get charged $10!!! The only reason I used my card is because the water stopped after only 1 minute when I used quarters (you're supposed to get 2 minutes 20 seconds when paying $2.50) so my car was only half washed and I didn't have another $3 in quarters. It is a total scam and since the phone number associated with the car wash just rings with no answer, there really isn't any other option than to fight with the bank to get your money back. There are signs up that claim that they charge your CC $10, but then it is supposed to eventually charge the price you are charged in a couple of days (Like when you buy gas and they do a $1 test charge). BUT it never happened and I got charged the $10. I called my CC company and filed a dispute. I got my money back. Coyote never disputed it. I also made a complaint on the BBB website and they made calls and sent a letter to the address and called me back to say they business was closed....even though it is clearly not. I've been a customer for years, not because of good service, but because of convenience. Today I was told I could come back when it wasn't busy to have my car washed because I have a larger suv (same one I've always had) and it wasn't "convenient" for them to wash my car. I recommend going elsewhere and will be spreading the word. Customers should be priority, and we don't run on your watch. read more

I was over charged $10 for a $2.63 charge on CC. I will do a charge back with CC company and have reported them to the Boulder City Attorney. I think the price of this place makes it more worth it to just pay for a car wash that you don't have to do yourself. You pay by time, and the time it took me to go through the washing and rinsing process and thoroughly get all the mountain mud off my car made it cost more than $30 total. If your car isn't super dirty it's probably a better value, and vacuuming your car out is super cheap. It's the only self service car wash I know of in Boulder so that's a plus. Also, I'm not really sure how effective some of their options are (like the bug wash and the shiny finish or whatever it's called) because they all seem to just be nice-smelling water and a don't really notice a difference on my car. But in the end my car came out clean and that's the point, right? read more
