Acupuncturists have a good understanding of how integrated our mind and body systems are and use pressure points to relieve pressure on those systems through needles. The effect is positive. You also get to relax and just be with your thoughts. There aren't many occasions in the modern world where you can take this type of time out from the world. The prices are on a sliding scale and the acupuncture happens in a shared space (which reduces costs and makes this type of treatment accessible); it is very peaceful and everyone respects their personal spaces.
