We ended up teeing off 30 minutes late. From then on, the round was extremely slow and there were multiple occasions where the group in front of us was sitting in the middle of the fairway drinking with no one on the green in front of them. A marshall would have been great here to speed up pace of play. 6 hours into the round and we are still on hole 14. Next thing you know, we are driving past 16 since it's already dark and we are leaving. There are multiple groups on the tee box playing bumper cars with their carts. When we return to the clubhouse, we notify the staff and they let us know the GM will reach out the next day. The GM never reached out and we've contacted the Gamble Sands team multiple times without a single response. This is extremely unfortunate after my first visit last summer that was spectacular. I'd really hope they get a grip on their operations over there. A great start would be having enough carts to accommodate the amount of golfers they send out as well as a marshall to keep pace of play and keep an eye on people messing around on the course.

The experience is one of rural community where you go to get away from it all! Not to impress others with your outfit or gear but one to enjoy a good game! The prices are excellent! They have senior and military discounts. A country club that serves great food and drinks. They have ample golf carts to rent. You will experience a technical and relatively tough course with hills, valleys, turns, ponds and probably some wind. You will also experience an incredible view of wheat fields, beautiful trees and gorgeous skies! If you want to stay awhile they also have a small RV Park. And on top of it all the employees are fantastic! Cheerful and ready to help! This is a hidden gem that you will not be disappointed with!

They are working very hard on tee boxes, greens, places that dry up. And the topography on this course makes the "dry up" a very real thing and they are working incredibly hard to keep that at bay. From the top down in their personnel, they are all working to make this the best experience possible for anyone who comes here. Do not blame management for a difficult course. This will keep you humble at times, but that's part of the challenge. From the people who meet and greet you at the carts to the people in the pro shop, the food and beverage people downstairs all the way to the top of management...there is a new purpose and vision for what this course can be and they are stopping at nothing to make sure it happens. I'm surprised I don't have more photos from Bear Creek because I've played here at least once every…read moreyear for the last Five or six. This is golf in the Methow and it's a local treasure. It seems to improve a little bit every year and it's always friendly and accessible. We played this time on a Friday afternoon, before a scramble scheduled for 4 pm, and pretty much had the course to ourselves. It's challenging but fun, with lots of elevation changes, hidden targets, and pretty views.

I thought I would add a couple of pictures we have from visits to the golf course for breakfast…read more We often stay nearby and so this was a regular breakfast stop on weekends for us - have not been in a while (Covid) but thought I would add the pictures I have for reference when things start to open back up and we can enjoy their great breakfasts again. Omelets are yummy and the hashbrowns - nice and brown the way I like them! Good prices. Small inside but not usually too busy!
