This is reply to your comments on my review. I am quite surprised you would even come back with a reply like that. I have never been so appalled - you break up our group for our "safety"? Threaten the police? Talk nasty? The only obnoxious ones in there were your bouncers. Your bar staff even attempted to get them off of us as they too knew they crossed the line. It was your fault we couldn't pay the bill quickly as well. Your actions were entirely unnecessary and downright rude. Everyone in our party was upset with your establishment. We brought in a lot of people that night and spent a lot of money. It won't happen again. Not much to be said about Coyote Ugly. What did you expect? It's trashy, loud, obnoxious...and that's just the girls. But if you're going into it knowing what to expect, you can have fun with it all, especially "drunk watching". It made for a fun evening (I've actually been there twice on two separate trips now). Granted, this is definitely not my taste but I should never have paid 5 dollar cover to get in here or 3 dollars for a Corona (that's a special on Saturdays). Terrible staff and terrible service. I get the whole idea bout being a crowd participation bar but the bartender in the bar was waaaaay out of line. She made our entire corporate group (who love to party) very uncomfortable and was very rude the entire time. Usually the MC bartenders are funny and at least slightly attractive. This girl was none of the above. She was talking about slitting her wrists because of the music choices a guest made and calling black patrons sexual chocolate to their dislike. We ended up having to take our group of 40 to another establish and will never recommend the bar to anyone. Side note- the manager on duty recognized the rudeness and lack of involvement and asked her to mellow out. Though it was to little to late. read more

Fiesta weekend 4/28/17. We stopped in for a drink. Bathrooms were gross and the men's room had duct tape holding the sink together. Not long after we arrived we paid $20 for a body shot which the bartender took herself. My immediate reaction was "WTF!" and we left with no desire to return. not sure if I'm in the wrong for expecting good customer service at a place like this. It was my first time visiting and the "door guy" apparently had told me to pay the cover to the left. Truthfully I didn't hear him and he grabbed my arm and pulled me back and I asked him what what? he responded very disrespectfully "THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I TOLD YOU THE COVER IS THERE" complete asshole. He should've approached me or tapped me on the shoulder to inform me, grabbing me was totally 100% unacceptable. Other than that the drinks were great and the environment was quite fun. What do you expect this place to be? A good bar with good service? Or movie star hot chicks all over the place? NO, it's hooters meets really shit dive bar, with girls walking on a bar bugging the hell out of you to do silly things like hold a stool in the air for no reason. THATS IT. But this is not a negative review. That's what this is, that's what to expect. It's a place where they try to amp up the party, by being flirty and loud, and get randos to dance on the bar, even though they really should not. It's a place where the bathroom is dirtier than a homeless encampment and the only drink that bartended can make with any reliability is a coke, on the rocks. But she is in short shorts yelling. The big turn off is right when you walk in the door their trash is piled high, so it reeks. The music and dancing is classic to the movie. The girls at this location are very in tune and extremely friendly. Some of my friends thought they were a little pushy on the guys, but it is what is expected in this particular bar. It is great for bachlorette parties, birthdays or any kind of special event. The body shot is worth the $20 for embarrassment or good fun :) Dancing on the bar will get you a free shot (sometimes unwanted attention. LOL) This place to have such poor reviews on here seems to be pretty packed on the regular. No seating, standing room only. Sardine type feel, but lots of great dancing and good music. read more

It's Coyote Ugly and the waitresses/bartenders are as you expect them to be. I ordered a vodka soda and it was terrible. I couldn't even finish it. Prices are decent, but not if all of the drinks are that bad. It was worth a good laugh and I lived the dream of dancing on the bar at Coyote Ugly, but I was not overly impressed with anything. It's a bar. Bars are nothing special anyway. If you go, be brave and just get your butt up on the bar to dance -- it's liberating and fun!! read more

Can't believe no one has written a review of this place yet. Let me just lay it all out there: Yes, it is cheesy, yes it is expensive touristy, there is a cover charge, the drinks are expensive and you have to fight through a crowd at least on Saturday night to get to the bar. For those that are timid, and uninitiated into the nightlife you will be waiting a while for the bartender because you will be washed out by the noise and mayhem that only happens when you have had a few drinks. Come dressed in jeans and a shirt with shoes and you will be alright. If this place was not as superficial and expensive it will be not be a bad place to go. read more

This review may have been a three or perhaps even a two. Only reason why I'm giving 4 stars is because the bachelorette party novelty made everything enjoyable. My friend had her bachelorette party here. Her Maids of Honor rented the second floor/balcony area. They had two bottles and carafes of juice so we didn't have to go downstairs for any drinks. We had the area to ourselves for most of the night. At midnight they opened it up to everyone else in the bar (that's when I left). The downstairs area gets so cramped. Very little seating. The drinks are expensive. If you're there for a party/birthday/special day, treat yourself to the body shot for the seedy, yet fun experience. This establishment is transphobic and not a friend of the LGBTQ community! I was there last night with my partner who is non-binary for the after party of my brother's wedding. The door-person of the bar became very fixated on the gender marker on my partner's ID, telling them that they couldn't join the dancing on the bar as well as confronting my partner outside of the bathroom, telling them that they used the wrong bathroom. My girlfriend and I decided to go for a little vacation to San Antonio for the weekend. After a little convincing I talked her into to going to this bar to check out if it was worth the hype. The answer is no... After showing up I paid my $5 cover and immediately realized that it would be the worst 5 bucks I ever spent. As me and my girlfriend were walking through the crowd of more body oder then you can imagine and just the whitest trash from the four corners of the Earth we finally got to the bar. My girlfriend requested a liquid marijuana and they told us that they couldn't make that down stairs for some reason, but the 2nd floor could make it for us. So it was no big deal as we walked back thru the barn animals freaking out about trash dancing on the bar. As we go upstairs we are greeted with some of the most unfriendly people I have ever met. So we head over to the bar and my girlfriend tries the order again and no luck once again. So she just orders a vodka and cranberry, but when I tasted it, it tasted like just cranberry juice. We found a spot over looking the mess going on down stairs. Behind the bar it was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. Receipts, spilled drinks, possibly mold, and what ever else was all over that floor. On the bar were girls with no butt or boobs dancing. In the crowd I spotted two guys lit up cigs, several drinks spills, security guards being douche bags for nothing, and so much more. We went here last night as the last stop for my bachelorette party. When your drunk this place is awesome! Got a body shot from a pretty girl and danced on the bar with my bridal party. I have no idea what kind of music they were playing because you don't really care lol. I would say one of the greatest parts was the guy that helps you out getting on and off the bar. He was super nice and huge so you felt sturdy and not scared at all. It's cool to know someone is right there looking out for your safety as well as keeping all the bartenders safe and not harassed I'm sure! I was working in Texas for a couple weeks and I decided to check out San Antonio. I hit all the bars. Every one of them. Deff had the most fun here. Just depends on your poison. I'm a blue collar kinda guy, all the jazz bars didn't impress me much. Did a body shot off one of the bartenders. My co worker uses the pics as blackmail to get coffee around the office. Drinks were a bit watered down. Wouldn't walk into the Bathroom with an open wound. But the ladies were friendly. The crowd were good timing people. Played good music. Had a great time! read more

Well it's definitely not the movie version...lol. The girls dancing on the bar are out shined by the crowd dancing. Except the crowd was into dancing to country music, that was the only time the crowd engaged. The staff were not in tune to the crowd and played the electro music and you could see the crowd disengage. The staff needs to learn to read the crowd as its more important than shaking your booty while walking on the bar yelling into a microphone! I wish I had read the reviews about this place before going, as I would have spent better time at a place that was worth it. A friend suggested we go here, and since I had been to the one in Las Vegas I figured it would be a fun evening. Nope. It was DIRTY- as in the bathroom doors don't lock, there was urine on the floor (women's room), and sticky stuff everywhere. The "entertainment" was disgusting, but the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. The bouncers were completely unprofessional- especially the one in the front, and the big bearded one that kept pushing people out of his way. We did not encounter another establishment at the River Walk that was as disgusting or manned by such an unprofessional staff as we did at this place. If this is on your bucket list, then by all means check it out. I know we'll never be back or recommend this place to anyone. read more

I gotta admit, I did see parts of the movie and it, too, was 20 minutes of my life I can never get back (I couldn't subject myself to more than 20 min of either). I actually don't mind high priced drinks or girls dancing on bars - I kind of like it. But at Coyote Ugly, the whole of the execution was just a train wreck. Fat girls dancing on the bar, a cheap sound system that was pegged out playing every crappy tune you would expect, and goofy tourists gawking at the poor girls working there. Had a pretty good experience. The ladies are fun and energetic, drinks are great but it's the group you go with that make it. The establishment does what it's set out to accomplish but often times is too pushy on drinks and other stuff for the shots and giggles. My buddies were left feeling a little cringed out after being out on blast for a show. That's pretty much all I have to say about that. Wow! You guys are harsh! I think it's got a LOT to live up to since it is in fact, named after the movie, and those girls were super hot and super awesome(in the movie, of course). The girls at this bar are just not quite either of the afore-mentioned things but it is still kinda fun. It's different - to say the least. Depending on what night you go - there is a different crowd. I've been 3-4 times and each time it was different which might have something to do with the fact that it seems as if they bring their "A-team" in on the weekends and on other nights they bring the girls that try really hard to be the part of the elite but just quite don't really make it. There are a significant amount of older gentlemen that seem to hang out here but the demeanor of the crowd seems to change from night to night. Take what you think you know about the bar from the movie and leave it at that. Going there isn't nearly as interesting as you think. The restrooms were really dirty, I can't help but think your employees and patrons use the bathrooms then jump up on the bar. Nasty. The place wasn't that busy at 10pm on a Friday night. The bar staff seemed more interested in 'dancing' than serving. Based on name recognition alone that place should have been packed on Friday and Saturday nights. Transphobic AF. The security are super transphobic this is a terrible place to go if you are trans, genderqueer, or gender diverse in any way. After the dance staff invited me to join them dancing on the bar the security came and kicked me off, supposedly based on the gender marker on my ID. After that they watched me all night, coming after me for using the washroom I felt comfortable using. They are confrontational and the situation escalated quickly. I will never recommend this bar.
