Tots & Fries delivered right to our table from the Dogfather next door

Absolutely loved the Bang Bang Bar. I had been wanting to try this bar for many years, wish I hadn't waited so long. The eclectic atmosphere reminded me of a vintage/goth/dive bar. It's also very dark when you enter/leave so I'm glad my friend gave us a heads up about this. Friendly staff and good cocktails. My husband got the beer & shot special while I chose a refreshing lavender gin cocktail to start out. We were also very happy that the Dogfather (restaurant next door) delivered delicious food to our table inside the bar. We will come back to try more drinks. They also serve yummy snacks and pizza at this bar if you aren't in the mood for the hot dogs next door.

This karaoke bar is situated off San Pedro Avenue and ironically near a gun shop and next to a hot dog restaurant called The Dogfather. While they have a surface lot, it filled up quickly as the night drew on. Upon our arrival we had our IDs checked and was given a piece of paper for drinks they serve. When we walked into the bar it was reminiscent of an old eclectic study where you could sit practically anywhere and felt like you was sitting in your living room about to turn on the TV aka some karaoke singers. The KJ booth is near the front door and the stage was diagonal from there and a true stage. Like watch your step, stage. I believe our hostess name wad Pooki and it was her birthday and she was super attentive with serving us. I ordered the MoTito and didn't taste a single ounce of Tito's. So when Pooki came back I ordered a shot and poured that into my sweet drink and finally had some liquor. I immediately was done drinking after not tasting any alcohol in my drink. My friend ordered a Cosmo for herself and lemon drop shots for us. The Cosmo was a tart mess. I don't know why most places I've been to cannot make a proper Cosmopolitan. This has been the case in almost every city I've visited and even local bars where I live. It is quite sad. Anyways, I drank water with my lime slice from my NOTito the rest of the night and rocked out a few songs. The KJ was very amazing and can rock the mic. The ladies room is super dark upon entry and hot AF but since the air was on blast in the bar, it was my warm escape despite how hot it was in there and outside. I would not come back for the drinks specifically but would for karaoke and to order some hotdogs from The Dogfather. I thought it was awesome they walk your order over in a cloche. Ha! Side note, I need to find Garett who sang the night of 8/17/25. That man could SING!

Really enjoy this spot. Like I've said before it seems a little sketchy but it's a nice spot. Tons of seating and the bartenders are friendly and knw how to make a cocktail. Only issue is that rr lighting lol it's too dang dark in there.

Bang Bang Bar is great because it's almost always locals, great music always playing, a wonderful selection of beers and tasty cocktails, and it's dark and moody the way a bar should be! The house pizzas are super delicious, but my favorite thing is that you can order from The Dogfather next door and they'll bring it right to your couch/table/patio spot. Karaoke nights are fun, and they usually lean towards more Rock/Emo/Goth song choices. It's perfect for a night out with a group, a cozy date, or even flying solo. You can always make friends over a round of pool, darts, or skee ball, or keep to yourself and play a retro arcade game. Service is great and the servers will come to you and keep a tab running on their iPad ordering system. Makes it easy to move around the whole place freely.

Great variety of drinks. Everything tasted delicious. I loved the 80s and 90s music that was playing and the lowlight ambience. Our server was super nice as well. My friend and I had a blast! Will be back.

Love the place. Went last night with one of my friends. Bartenders are very nice. I got the snack crack and wow I would take it home. The environment is very calm and laid back. 10/10 would recommend n I will be coming back soon

I love the atmosphere of this place! There is such beautiful antique and vintage decor all over. There are plenty of places to sit and a nice arcade room inside. The drinks are also very reasonably priced and well made. The bartender was very nice and fast making drinks. I will's definitely be back.

Needing to kill some time while my car was being worked on at Gil's tires and wheels, I stumbled across the bang bang bar. If you like eclectic, then this is the bar for you. You'll notice as soon as you walk in this place is extremely dark on the inside. The interior is very retro, and the music varies between genres. The bartender was very friendly and ran through the drink menu with me. I was pleasantly surprised this place serves craft cocktails at a reasonable price so i'll take an old fashion please! The drink was well made. I don't get to to this part of town very often but when I do, I'll be sure to stop off at the bang bang bar for a good time. Quick note that this business is behind the Dogfather hotdog place off of San Pedro so it's hard to see from the road so you may have to use the GPS if it's your first time. Also, parking is limited so be aware.

Super cas bar to just go hang out and relax. Perfect place for after work happy hour, day drinking or pre-flight before your cousin's quinceanera/wedding ceremony at church (and probably after too). This place is oozing cool. Grab one of their uber comfortable seat and enjoy everything it has to offer: awesome playlist, pinball, arcade video games, pool table, shuffleboard, darts and not to mention their stellar cocktail menu. They also have limited food/snacks available. Had their bloody marys first which were pretty good but were blown away by their frozen irish coffee. I think we had 3 each since they were so good. This place will be on the SA visit rotation going forward.

Super eclectic place. If I'm not mistaken one of our super cool local girl bands -Fea opened the place. The vibes and dark and cozy. So many vintage couches to choose from,As well as vintage arcade games. They really have something for everyone. Cocktails, Mock-tails , beer shot combos , CBD beverages and kasava root beverages. Did I mention snacks and if you're really hungry you can place an order with dog father a hot dog place in front of their location. They will even walk it to the bar for you.

I know it and I…read morewas super excited to see Slow Ride come up as an option for me and my sister to pop in and catch up over some drinks. Parking along the street is free (along the fence line of Sam Houston) and was not an issue even for a holiday. There is a paid parking lot that is secure and available too so note that if ever you have an issue finding a good spot. Walking into Slow Ride is like walking into your tio's (uncle) or a grandpa's cool, 70's/80;s vibey, and home-y bar. This is the kind of spot where every picture you take of yourself, or your friends, will look like you took it in the 80's! This is not a bad thing either. Seriously. It IS A VIBE here! Cushy seats at the bar was my favorite spot to hang out while we had some cold beers and a shot to go alongside it too. They have beer and shot combos here around $8. You get plenty of choices on beer and liquor of choice. I opted for a tallboy Lonestar and a small shot of the Mexican Candy. My sister got a Live Oak Hefe in a can (she likes Blue Moon so this was the closest thing to it and she liked it!) and later a Shiner in a bottle. I also decided to close out with a daiquiri that was super delicious and offered in nice glassware. Patio out in the back is spacious and a great spot to hang out with a group of friends. The back space is taken care of and has a modern look to it out there. I can see it being a nice vibe outside on a pretty day too. Jukebox is legit! All great music selections from all genres on CDs and pretty cheap too to play 5-8 songs. The artwork around here is worth a look around too. I love all the unique Garfield toys surrounding the bar area too. All of the back bar is so great with the wooden shelving and lighting too. You can see many honorable nods to those who currently or have served. It's a great thing to see especially so close to Sam Houston. One thing I have a pet peeve on is any service bar who has to keep my card on file. I am the worst person who won't remember so I have to be extra careful when bars keep my card. I usually walk and don't mind paying the 20+% tab walk fee but I do want my card back so I have to get everyone who is with me to remind me to go get it. That's why I am giving it 4 stars. I am looking forward to coming back in the future and bringing some more family and friends, though. This spot is so nostalgic and their social is super active and will promote DJs and sets happening that week and into the weekend. Go check them out and play some pool. You're gonna feel like you are in a Matthew McConaughey movie when you do. Tell me I am wrong!!!
