I had chili lime chicken tacos with guacamole and an iced tea. The iced tea is good. Sis had the same thing but with pico de gallo. The youngest of our group had Shrimp scampi and said it wasn't very good. Cousin had taco salad and enjoyed it. Aunt had chili Reno and loved them. This place was amazing. I did read the Yelp reviews before and they weren't that great, my experience was nothing but amazing. I literally loved the food minus one thing and I'll get to that soon. From the moment we walked in we was greeted w happy people and immediately sat down. We ordered chips salsa and queso. I REALLY LOVED the salsa. The queso not so much. I'm very picky. It was very heavy and thick and tasted like government cheese, the government cheese only if you was poor like me as a kid, you will forever remember that taste lol. For my dinner I got steak fajitas and it came with rice and black beans. The meat was perfectly seasoned and so tender!! I loved the rice and beans. I just can't get over how many people didn't like this place. Anyways to finish off our meal we got Sophia's , if you never had it, you're missing out. We had a nice meal on Coyote's patio with a good friend during a rare visit back to CO. The weather was perfect, the ambiance couldn't have been better and our server was great. The guys enjoyed their meals of Mexican fare, and I ordered the chile rellenos, which were very different than I expected. The chiles were quite small with lots of seeds & the rellenos themselves had a thick fried coating, which I personally felt was a bit much, so I only ate part of the meal. I had high hopes for this place, however coming from Texas I was disappointed. Sorry but the first judgement comes with the chips and salsa. Although chips were good they needed salt, more flavor and just did care for the salsa, for my taste no flavor and too tomatoey, could taste any of the spices or herbs. They have a decent selection of tequilas and my southwestern fish and chips tasted good and crispy just wasn't hot intact barely warm and the tiny little cup of chipotle tarter barely lasted for 1 piece of fish. My wife's salmon tasted good but overcooked, the edge was uneatable. The Brussels were cooked perfectly but didn't have much flavor. We made a reservation and arrived promptly for that time. We were seated immediately. Our server took our drink order and came back shortly after for our food order. The flight of margaritas were very good. My husband did order a Presidente Margarita, it was definitely small for the price. I agree with a lot of other reviews that the tortillas definitely need salt. My husband enjoyed his carnitas enchiladas. My Coyote Burrito was ok. Some of the steak was dried out. I'd give the place 3.5 stars. We came in on a Friday night. The place was quite busy and had several families with small children so the noise level is quite high. We started off with chips, salsa and the Fire Roasted Chili Con Queso. The chips were very fresh and the salsa was tasty and had a nice flavor and spice to it. The queso was a bit too spicy for the others in my party. It had a bit of a grainy texture to it too. Overall, we did not care for the queso but we enjoyed the salsa and really fresh chips I had the Vegetable Enchiladas. The Vegetables weren't overcooked and the creamy artichoke and heart was delicious. I enjoyed this dish and would order it again. One member of my party had the fire braised pork taco and reported that it had a nice flavor, the meat was tender but the serving size was too small since they are street tacos. The shrimp tacos are regular sized tacos and were also flavorful. My friend also had some guacamole. She said it was very tasted and she appreciated that there are no onions in the guac. My blood orange margarita was too sour. I did not enjoy it at all. I kinda outgrew the sour patch kids taste in my drinks many, many years ago. However the mojito I had was refreshing and nicely balanced. Too bad I couldn't say the same for the margarita. However, my friend enjoyed her mango margarita though. Service was good. Our server was friendly and attentive. The noise level is quite loud in the place due to the number of families with small children. The place is a great family restaurant for those with small kids. For those of us with grown kids or no kids, and wanting more of a quiet dinner and drinks with friends, its not so enjoyable unless you don't mind listening to screaming kids whilst you eat and having to see the aftermath of those families that come in and allow their kids to tear the place up. Personally, I don't enjoy that. Overall, food, service and drinks are OK. I'd definitely try the place again but I'd either try to not sit in the dining room or make sure to go at a later time after the families with little ones have hopefully gone home. read more

I had lunch on a Saturday here with my Mom. I was impressed with the service and their precautions for COVID-19. We ate inside because it was cold, but customers are socially distanced within the restaurant and all of the waitstaff are wearing masks. We each ordered a margarita, my mom had just the house margarita and I had a blood orange margarita. Mine was really sweet. I wouldn't order that one again. My mom got the chicken and cheese enchiladas with green chili sauce and I got the braised pork enchiladas with green chili sauce. Overall the dishes were OK. My mom's was a little more flavorful since it had cheese. I just felt the food overall really lacked in flavor and spice. Their chips and their salsa were really good! read more

As sad as this is to write this review. As we sit here currently waiting and waiting and waiting. Our server was horrible and more attentive to the table of 8 compared to the table of 4. Mind you all she had was the two tables. Ours and the party. It literally took 25 mins to get my first margarita and another 25 mins for the second. Then another 35 mins to put our appetizer orders in. This is our local spot as we live a few blocks away. Allison, was too focused on the party never once did she ask was everything good ? Is everything ok? Do you need anything? We had to ask the hostess to place our appetizer order or else we would have still been sitting here waiting to order. I get it some of these servers focus on bigger parties as they assume bigger tip. But this was just uncalled for. It's like we have been forgotten that we were here. The kids meals fries were cold but of course we could not inform Allison as she is too busy focusing on the bigger party. The 4 appetizers were just ok. We didn't want to place entree orders as we just waited from waiting to place the order and making our order and having it brought to our table a total of = 1 hour and 10 mins. Just for appetizers. Thank God we placed the kids meal orders before the party arrived or the kids would have been waiting to eat. Just very disappointed in today's visit. Multitasking is key being a server. As a food service industry owner myself I seek employees with great customer service skills, can multi task, and inform them that our customers always come first. Sad we may need to find another. I waited to post original post as we thought they rectified the problem when I called and they were going to offer us the $30 gift card. But sadly to my surprise today when I brought it to their attention the manager denied the $30 gift card offering and said there was no such thing and embarrassed me in front of the people sitting on each side of me and made me and my family feel foolish. Drinks were good but that's where the compliments end. The food was not good. I got southwest chicken salad and my friends got nachos and avocado something tacos. My salad had cold weird thick cut chicken that had zero flavor, the dressing also had zero flavor. Too many black beans inside the lettuce, no tomato and nothing else at all not even cheese. I have an avocado allergy and I saw some on the dressing cup bottom like they must've put it on the salad and then just picked it off when they realized they shouldn't have put it on so I had to root around my salad to make sure it wasn't hiding anywhere. You need to take food allergies extremely serious! Anyway my friend ate about 25% of her nachos and found a gross black curly hair inside one! She of course was disgusted but too nice to say anything and she stopped eating as did I. My other friend liked her tacos but she likes anything and is not picky at all. The prices are extremely expensive for lunch. I don't live in Greeley so I probably won't be back esp after my friend found a hair. There is an appetizing picture of fried fish tacos on Coyote Grill's website. Don't be fooled. I've eaten there a couple of times recently and LOVE fish tacos. In each taco, there was one 1/4 inch piece of fish, not fried, in each taco. Not worth the price and in my opinion, cheating the customer. I did ask about where was the fish and the waitress, although nice, wanted to do nothing. It is my opinion that they are use to how the restaurant cheats the clients. Chips and salsa good. I have been to Coyote's SW grill any times, have hosted parties there for class reunions and for several golf trips with 20-30 golfers. The managerial staff are outstanding to work with, the waitstaff have always been outstanding and the food, especially for large groups is always plentiful and very good. I try not to be hard on restaurants, but this was a disgusting meal. I took a chance (they are exceedingly expensive) and it went very south. The burrito tasted like a salt lick. The rice and mashed potatoes I think were cooked with a few old, leather shoes. As least that's what they smelled like. The Enchiladas were nothing more than a very basic, bland, plain soft taco.
