Had our first visit to Los Comales over the weekend- we enjoyed the food. There was great variety for adults, but not much in the way of options for kids. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean. I also love the pretty papel picados everywhere. We were in Greeley visiting a family member, wanted lunch, searched Yelp for a recommendation, and what a find! It is a terrific restaurant that specializes in Mexican food and combines great food with a friendly environment. Diagonal parking in front and more nearby. I stepped inside and asked a man who was waiting to pick up his online order what he liked about Los Comales and he gave me a few suggestions. Clean as could be, with tables give visitors some space. Homemade chips were a tasty appetizer, and their guacamole was quite good. I also wandered to their salsa bar, which significantly contributed to this visit! Loved their hot red and green salsas, plus at least two others. I loved every bite of my smothered burrito that featured asada meat (5-6 types), as it was spicy with yummy green chiles. Family member loved her tacos, and my Way Better Half enjoyed her Chilaquiles! Pricing is so fair for the portions, and their service was exceptional, full of smiles and suggestions. The only complaint I have is their salsa, it tastes and looks fresh but lacks that traditional spicy-ness. Servers were nice, thoughtful, quick and concise. With a rumbling belly and in the mood for Mexican cuisine, this was the perfect place. Located in Greeley, this will be my new favorite spot to frequent for tasty Mexican food. The menu has an array of options which can make it difficult to choose. I chose a steak torta, while my partner in crime went with the enchiladas. The restaurant is rather large and there are plenty of options for seating. They have a complimentary salsa bar that has various options which look very fresh. If you want to try a tasty beverage, I highly recommend the agua Fresca de melon. The staff here are very friendly and hospitable. While waiting for your food, there is also complimentary chips and salsa. Our food was brought out within 15minutes. First bite, full of flavor, the different layers of texture, and nice toasty bread. Next up, the enchiladas. They were cheesy, full of flavor, and overall tasty. Two words, food poisoning. My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time last night and that is definitely going to be the last time. He got the steak fajitas and I got the pork fajitas. BIG mistake! I spent the entire night throwing up from both ends! While I finally stopped throwing up early Saturday morning, I still felt ill all day. A little more about the evening before the food poisoning. We were served chips with salsa, but the chips tasted stale. Salsa wasn't bad though. At least that tasted fresh. We ordered guacamole, which tasted fine as well. Our server, while friendly, didn't speak any English! I mean, I realize we live in Greeley where the Spanish population is high, but if you're going to hire someone who will constantly be interacting with the public, at least make sure they speak English. read more

Quite good. We all had burritos, but we didn't get the chile on the side, so they were soggy. Our bad, but also their green chile was watery to my tastes, although it was pretty good. I had barbacoa, which was excellent. We also got some kind of leche bites that were pretty incredible. Sadly, restaurants go downhill in Greeley quickly. So it's difficult to find decent authentic Mexican food in Greeley Colorado no matter what the locals say. I come from a place that has authentic delicious Mexican cuisine 24X7 so I had given up hope till my coworker and I stumbled upon this place. I ordered some enchiladas with a delicious red sauce stuffed with beef and potatoes and an order of Tacos de Tripas (extra-crispy) and I ordered them with the onions and cilantro on the side. I also ordered an agua de melon. So we picked up our order and I didn't know what to expect to be honest but when I opened up my food containers I was pleasantly surprised. The enchiladas had a nice thick red sauce that wasn't spicy unfortunately but was flavorful and yummy. I devoured those bad boys then came my tacos. They were street tacos in small tortillas but they were doubled up and the tripas were as I had requested them, extra crispy. Squeezed some lime juice, loaded them up with the onions and cilantro and some yummy red chile de árbol sauce they offered from their salsa bar and I was in taco heaven. The agua de melón not too be outdone was delicious and it was true and legit as it had the pulp and want the powdered concoction served elsewhere. All in all a very memorable experience. This was the perfect place to stop by for a quick bite/snack on a Saturday. We were looking for tacos and were so pleased to stop by. Customer service was friendly and I appreciated how clean it was in the dining room- and bathrooms, always a plus. We didn't have a huge appetite so my partner and I split a plate of four tacos: two carnitas, one Al pastor, one chorizo. Yummmy! My favorite was the Al pastor and I'll make the drive to get more of just that one- the flavor was one I've never tasted before! The salsa variety was great. The horchata was the "cherry on top." Two young ladies working the counter and it shouldn't be that difficult to get a $58 order correct when you aren't busy. Love this place. Today I ordered two tacos, one carne Asada and the other pork chop. The pork chop one was kind of like really good chicharrones and the Asada had nice pieces of steak. My husband had the carnitas plate with beans and rice. They also have a terrific salsa bar. We were full but ordered the flan anyway because it is so good here. Attached to a market on the north side of Greeley lies a little Mexican restaurant that makes one delicious al pastor taco. I've had some tasty al pastor tacos in the Denver area, but nothing as traditional as here. They're "street taco" sized and they're pretty cheap - $2/taco or 4-for-$7. I did the 4, also trying their barbacoa, carnitas, and steak. All were solid, but the al pastor will be all I order the next time I find myself here. The restaurant also has other traditional Tex-mex items. I like that they have a salsa bar, which most were pretty tasty. I really enjoyed the Mexican salsa and the green salsa. The creamy guac and creamy chipotle ones were also tasty, but could have used less cream and a bit more guac/chipotle. Really good tacos. So far the most authentic in the area that I have tasted. Only thing is they are way too small for the price. Back in California I have experienced that you get the same taste for a bigger taco at 1.50$ the most. I tried the barbacoa, tripas, lengua and pork tacos.
