This is my favorite spot in Greeley for taco shop Mexican food. It reminds me of growing up in San Diego when I would take a carne asada burrito with me to go watch the surf. This place has excellent, huge burritos albeit on the expensive side. My favorites are the carne asada burrito with guacamole and pico de gallo and the California with carne, fries, cheese, and pico. As you can see, they don't skimp on the size. If you don't like burritos, you can't go wrong with other menu options, and there are many on this huge menu. I've had the rolled tacos, chicken tacos, and the carnitas plate. Rice is great; beans are quite bland. It's mostly a drive-through place, but they do have a small seating area that has a salsa bar and great pickled carrots. It's always been very clean. Service is fast and friendly. Solid breakfast burrito! Crispy bacon, fluffy eggs, and plenty of cheese, everything you want in a hearty breakfast. It's a generous size, definitely big enough to share. The only downside was the potatoes; they were French fries, which threw off the texture a bit. Still tasty overall! read more

This is a really small place near the freeway. It doesn't look like much from the outside and they have limited seating on the inside. However, the food here is REALLY good and they give you plenty of it and the price isn't bad. The best part is they're open 24hrs perfect after a night in downtown at 2am. So if you're hungry after a night of drinking stop on by and try this place out. You can park and eat inside too even if it's late/ early morning. !! - Be advised of the likelihood of drive-thru line being substantial... Come in from the church entrance @ the hwy 34 offramp & you wont "block the box" on 23rd Ave! What used to be THE best spent $8 in town is now a good (albeit, not consistently) $11 buy. In a (college) town where Taco Bell, Wendy's & Dominos are about the only options after 11pm (i dont do McDs but they ARE open) Almansita's has a staple for me - I get three crunchy chicken tacos w/side of crema & side of guac - (at least) a couple of times a week! The burritos are a "california burrito" sized (& perfectly chewey) homemade tortilla filled with the meat of your choice - i can never decide between the carnitas or the beef - & a smear of guacamole. My order ALWAYS includes a large horchata & (when they have them) one cherry and one "cream cheese" filled churro! Seriously, yum! My only gripe is that their consistency is all over the place @ portion sizes & from time-to-time the carnitas are dry and more on the crunchy side, but without question, just been bad timing on my behalf (& was either the absolute very last portion of that vat of pork right @ closing that i happened to get - or someone spaced out and left my portion on the flat grill a little too long). Just like Henry Ford once said, "you can get any color you want as long as it's black." If you try to customize your order, there's a great possibility that they will screw it up. You get what you get. If you order what's on the menu with no changes, it will probably come out right, but it also might not be what you wanted. I used to go to Almanza's all the time because it was a little closer to my house, but they have horrible customer service. I swear, it's always the 24/7 restaurants that have the absolute best tacos. Not only do you get the luxury of a drive-thru, but these type of joints always serve up authentic and quality food. So far, our favorite item on the menu are the tacos, of course. The tacos are stuffed to capacity with meat and are super juicy, tender, and flavorable - everything you'd want in a perfect taco. I highly recommend the buche, lengua or cachete, which to me, are the more savory and flavorable cuts. Tacos are topped off with fresh onions and cilantro -- makings of literally the best tacos I've had. Here in town. Also, horchata is so good here! Not too sweet and very tasty. I also recommend ending the meal with a crunchy churro which comes with different types of fillings. I would note that this isn't fast food, but food made relatively fast. The longest I have waited in the drive through is 10-15 minutes tops, which I think is pretty good for normally having a couple cars ahead of us and we typically order 10+ tacos and a couple other items. Either way, the wait is definitely worth it! I rather have my food cooked to order than having the food assembled like a Taco Bell. read more

I love their food, especially their California burrito but I will NOT be returning. They change their prices every order and don't have set prices it seems I'll get the same thing one time and the next time it will be $10 more. You never get a receipt. I just got a single California burrito which I know are overpriced as is. I thought he said $7.38 as he took my card(why would I think it'd be that cheap?!) nope- he charged me $17.38 for a SINGLE BURRITO. I tip every time I go here, not sure for what but I don't feel as if I deserved to be ripped off. No matter how much I love it I won't go back and I will not reccomend them to anyone. GOOD GOOD stuff!!! Some of the best authentic Mexican food I have found since moving to Colorado and I have tried a lot of places. I got a California burrito and some nachos with salsa aka chips and salsa, the burrito was very large, had great flavor and everything was cooked well. The tortilla was fresh and delicious, the carne asada had great flavor while being cooked very well. They are offering dine in and have a very clean dining area. Cannot wait to go back again and try some more things, talking to some of the regulars all the tacos are great! We picked up Almansita's for the first time tonight and I don't know what we were waiting for! They've got quite a big menu, so we settled on the carne asada platter and quesadillas. The prices here are very reasonable for the amount of food you receive, and everything was hot, fresh, and very tasty! The platters come with sides and they throw in their salsas for an extra kick of flavor and spice. If you're nearby and can't leave the house, check them out online because they offer local delivery for a small fee. You can also view the menu online to decide what you'd like before you go. Disappointing meal. I ordered a bean burrito & cheese enchilada combo plate that was to come with rice and beans. What I got was a burrito filled with some kind of spicy meat with peppers and onions. The tiny enchilada was cold and well hidden under a LOT of sauce and lettuce. I got 2 scoops of rice and no beans. Their website says they look forward to feedback on their customer service page, which doesn't exist. I would have taken it all back, but decided not to waste the gas. I won't b back. read more
