Not sure why the front office assistant is so unhappy with her job and basic responsibilities…read more Never a smile on her face when greeting patients but we thought perhaps she's not a naturally cheerful person. We have dismissed her attitude for a long time but the last straw was her refusing to call our new insurance provider to verify benefits. We gave her the pertinent info but since the electronic web-based app didn't work for her, we asked her to kindly call the 800# to speak with an agent but she refused. Her response, "We only do it electronically ." We were able to verify benefits with a brief phone call. Literally, it was a 3-4 min call. Obviously, it is too much of an effort to pick up the phone in order to keep two established patients/customers. That's fine. We will take our business elsewhere. Unhappy office staff sure can ruin a practice once enough people get the same inadequate customer service.

My husband is a truck driver with a hard schedule. I made him a new patient appointment (no…read morecleaning just exam) in August for the beginning of the year. I had to call and move the appointment from January to February. Anytime I moved the appointment I called weeks or even a month prior to the appointment so they could fill it with someone else. Here we are the day of. My husbands appointment was 7am. He turns into the neighboring business parking lot and gets sick (throwing up in the parking lot-we had a stomach bug hit our home and he was fine until today). We live 5 miles from the office and it took my husband 45 minutes to get well enough to get back home. When he got back, I called the last office to explain what happened and get something rescheduled. I fully expected to pay a missed appointment fee. They decided to not see him because of the moving of appointments. It's "their policy" because we moved them too many times. He NEVER missed an appointment until today and when we changed it was with enough notice they could have filled the spot! If your sick- go in and vomit all over them unless you want them to cancel and never see you again.

I've never had a problem with my teeth and always get compliments from the dentist about hygiene. Went here once and the dentist recommended fillings and two crowns. He also recommended a mouth guard to sleep in even though we had not discussed teeth grinding at all. I asked for X-rays and pictures to be sent so I could get a second opinion from my regular dentist and they would not provide them. Just went to my regular dentist for cleaning and second opinion and she said there is a stain, but everything looks great otherwise. Would not recommend this dentist at all! They also talked me into getting a fluoride treatment because of the so called cavities. My regular dentist said that they don't really do fluoride treatments any more and that I didn't need one. ‍

The waiting room was clean, fresh and modern. I was greeted with professionalism and a smile. I was offered something to drink while I completed my paperwork and then I was immediately called back for my appointment. I was again greeted with a smile by a very professional dental assistant, whom introduced herself and explained her role in my care. She escorted me to a bright, clean, well organized and spacious exam room, where everything was explained, my questions were answered then onto the x-ray room where my dental x-rays were taken with state of the art equipment and best of all it was painless. I love this dental office and up until that point, I hadn't even met the Doctor yet....lol Dr Rouse was amazing, to put it simply! He was as awesome as his staff. He reviewed the x-rays, discussed my plan of care in a way that I could understand and then took great care of me and the best part... No Shot's, No Pain and No Problems! He worked effortlessly, this Doctor really knows his business and I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone. Another amazing member of his team, explained the fee's and my insurance coverage with great patience because this was the hardest thing for me to grasp. She answered all my questions and helped me to understand each charge in detail, which I felt were reasonable. I have already made my second appointment to complete some additional needed and recommended procedures. I feel confident that my next appointment will go as smoothly as my first and trust that so much that I made an appointment for my husband as well. We have defiantly found our Family Dentist! Thank you Dr Rouse and Staff for your help in getting my oral health back on track and helping me to leave your office with a brighter and cleaner smile then when I arrived! ~ Jenny A.

5 STARS AREN'T ENOUGH! 10/10. THE BEST…read more Dr. Toney & his staff are phenomenal. I have been going to him for longer than I can remember, and love them, but I had to leave a review after today. I live in Austin now, but haven't found any dentist who comes close. So when I found out I had a cavity (which I've never had before) I was really, really anxious about the numbing/drilling/etc. and didn't want just any dentist to do it. I worked out my schedule so that I could fly to Allen after a work trip to see him. When they said this was going to be the easiest part of my week, it really was. He gave me some laughing gas, numbed my mouth with some gel & let that start working before injecting a tiny bit of numbing, then waited a bit more before giving me the full numbing dose -- I genuinely never felt anything. I listened to music and they talked me through everything that was going to happen so I was at ease the whole time. Never thought I'd say this, but it was such a pleasant experience. BEST PART: Gemma (the hygienist assisting) asked me if I had any big plans and I told her about flying in and my plans to drive back to Austin today. She came back a couple minutes later with two "road trip goodie bags" for my mom and I that had some coffee mugs, Starbucks gift cards and a gift card for Dairy Queen to stop for lunch on the way. Over the top nice. TLDR: Look no further, best dentist & staff on the planet. The end.

They often remember my name or small details about me (where I work, who my family members who come are), and as I was in the waiting room, I heard one of the hygienists call somebody back and enter into a casual conversation about the patient's motorcycle. Everybody there is so gentle, and will stop immediately if you're uncomfortable at all, and try to correct it so you're as comfortable as possible. It's the little things like putting chapstick on your dry lips or offering a warm towel to dry the stray water droplets off your face after any work you have done that sets this office apart. Today specifically, Stephanie I think it was impressed me a lot by not only telling me about the cavities she suspected, but also took pictures of them, and went over the pictures and xrays with me pointing out what looked suspicious to her. This was my first time seeing her, but I love her already! I recommend this office to anybody and everybody! It's fantastic :)

After being patients of Lone Star Family Dental for many years, this experience was extremely…read moredisappointing. This practice used to feel like a caring family office, but unfortunately that no longer seems to be the case. Yesterday we encountered dangerous weather and road conditions in our area and called the office to explain the situation. Rather than showing any understanding or concern for safety, the focus immediately became enforcing cancellation fees of $200 for me and my daugher and defending office policy besides insulting me the we had missed/cancelled appoinments over the many years as patients. What was most upsetting was not the fee itself, but the complete lack of empathy and professionalism in how the situation was handled afterward. Their response stated that hazardous driving conditions were our responsibility to "plan accordingly" for, despite the fact that weather conditions can vary greatly by area and can change quickly. We had flash flood warnings and over 4 inches of rain withing a short period of time in Whitesboro yesterday. I was merely calling 90 minutes ahead to inform them of our weather and road conditions and the possibility of running late. In their response to my email later they seem to lay every blame on me. Utterly unprofessional. After more than a decade of loyalty, countless kept appointments, and trusting this office with our family's dental care, it was disheartening to feel reduced to nothing more than a scheduling slot and lost revenue. Policies are understandable. Compassion and common sense should matter when you call youself a family friendly practice. Based on this experience, I can no longer recommend this office to others looking for a patient-centered dental practice.
