5 STARS AREN'T ENOUGH! 10/10. THE BEST. Dr. Toney & his staff are phenomenal. I have been going to him for longer than I can remember, and love them, but I had to leave a review after today. I live in Austin now, but haven't found any dentist who comes close. So when I found out I had a cavity (which I've never had before) I was really, really anxious about the numbing/drilling/etc. and didn't want just any dentist to do it. I worked out my schedule so that I could fly to Allen after a work trip to see him. When they said this was going to be the easiest part of my week, it really was. He gave me some laughing gas, numbed my mouth with some gel & let that start working before injecting a tiny bit of numbing, then waited a bit more before giving me the full numbing dose -- I genuinely never felt anything. I listened to music and they talked me through everything that was going to happen so I was at ease the whole time. Never thought I'd say this, but it was such a pleasant experience. BEST PART: Gemma (the hygienist assisting) asked me if I had any big plans and I told her about flying in and my plans to drive back to Austin today. She came back a couple minutes later with two "road trip goodie bags" for my mom and I that had some coffee mugs, Starbucks gift cards and a gift card for Dairy Queen to stop for lunch on the way. I love going to the dentist! Everybody there is so sweet- hygienists, receptionists, and Dr. Toney himself. They often remember my name or small details about me (where I work, who my family members who come are), and as I was in the waiting room, I heard one of the hygienists call somebody back and enter into a casual conversation about the patient's motorcycle. Everybody there is so gentle, and will stop immediately if you're uncomfortable at all, and try to correct it so you're as comfortable as possible. It's the little things like putting chapstick on your dry lips or offering a warm towel to dry the stray water droplets off your face after any work you have done that sets this office apart. Today specifically, Stephanie I think it was impressed me a lot by not only telling me about the cavities she suspected, but also took pictures of them, and went over the pictures and xrays with me pointing out what looked suspicious to her. I've been going here for over 20 years and Dr Toney and his staff are all great and care about there patients.

Where do I even start... 1.) Customer service on the phone..Chelsea was so sweet and returned my inquiry via web promptly. She even followed up on a request on an appnt request if there was a cancelation. 2.) Day of appnt A.) Customer service was great...smiling and ready to welcome patients B.) Dental hygienist-took x-rays (only needed once), initial evaluation, and deep clean. Entire process took about 1.5 hours but she was thorough in the cleaning and very personable. This is the one time I have actually enjoyed going to the dentist. Ask for their chapstick-the small things made the experience pleasant. She was able to determine best solution for me for teeth whitening as well. Have seen results with the product they endorse. C.) Dr. Tooney-fantastic bedside manners and will give honest feedback on what needs to be done. Isn't looking to dollar and cents everything that needs to be done especially if it isn't necessary. When I moved here 12 years ago, a friend recommended Dr. Toney to me. I have a past of "not so great" dentist experiences so I was very nervous. I quickly discovered there was absolutely NOTHING to be nervous about! Dr. Toney is the nicest, kindest, most gentle dentist I've ever met. I have confidently gone to his practice for 12 years now, and never worried about one appointment (not even the ones where I had to get fillings.) I truly can't say enough good things about Dr. Toney and his staff. Everyone is just so friendly, welcoming, and makes you feel comfortable. Being new to the area, and having had some less than ideal dental experiences, Dr. Toney and his staff have been a godsend to my daughter and me. Every person you encounter in his practice makes you feel welcome and special. My first experience was a second opinion for my daughter. Dr. Toney's recommendation was the same as the first opinion, but his approach and genuine care sold me completely. Dr. Toney is the best dentist I've ever had and they truly deserve all five stars. I had a terrible experience at my previous dentist and he reassured me that I would be taken care of with him. All of the staff are kind, considerate and helpful. It's such a wonderful positive atmosphere that feels like you're with family and friends. I am so hesitant to post this review. If I spread the word about Dr Toney, it means more people will come here and it will be harder to get an appointment. However, it means more business for Dr Toney and his office...they deserve it...and that overrides my selfish impulses...so... We have been going to Dr Toney's since 1998. We drive by many nice and capable dentists in Plano all the way to Allen because it is worth it. He is the best of the best. Needed an emergency root canal a day before I was activated by the Air Force for a year...done. Daughter fell and drove her tooth through her lip...fixed, not even a noticeable scar. Day in and out, they are gracious, happy, and thoughtful from the front desk through the cleanings to the fillings. Their systems and equipment are up to date, he's invested in it to make it so. Dr Toney is a solid dude. He volunteers on missions of his own time and expertise to help people overseas relieve their suffering...it is a calling for him. He is not arrogant (confidence--that's what I want in a doctor--he knows his stuff), he truly works with a servants heart to do the best job he can every time. I really can't say enough positive things about Dr Toney, his hygienists and receptionists. They are professional, efficient, warm and most importantly good hearted. You genuinely feel like a member of their work family and they definitely go the extra mile. The head receptionist (I think?) Amy remembers you by name and will even ask me about my parents when I go in. Dr Toney is friendly and definitely on top of his game and every hygienist I have had has been gentle and polite. I have never been one to enjoy going to the dentists. In fact, I dread it! But I was so impressed with the service and care that I received at this office, that I will definitely be a returning customer. Each staff member was kind and always had a smile on. David Toney was professional and treated me like he had all the time in the world. It was by far the best dental experience yet. I'm almost looking forward to my next visit. I highly recommend them!! Came here with an emergency toothache. Dr Tooney not only fit me in quickly, but was upfront and honest on what should be done about the tooth (and suggested a less expensive route). The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Once the procedure was complete DR Tooney called to check up/follow up to ensure I was feeling ok. I have been to several dentists and none have followed up personally themselves. During the procedure I made sure I was numb before continuing and all during the procedure. They even offered gas as an option as well. Highly recommend!!! read more

The place where everybody knows your name. Staff is always friendly and enthusiastic. Obvious that they enjoy what they do. Dr. Toney is a great dentist with an easy going manner. I owe my smile to him and his staff. Appointment times are always met. If there is an unforeseen event, they always provide you with plenty of notice to make other arrangements. read more

Our family has been going to Dr. Toney for 20 years and he is by far the best dentist around. Not only does he care about the quality of work he does but also he cares about patient comfort. He's the ONLY dentist I know that knows how to numb your pallet (upper teeth) without sending you to the moon with pain. Kudos to you Dr. Toney and Staff. The best around!!!!! read more
