I had an incredibly filling take-out dinner here last night! I ordered online and my food was ready early. I chose the enchiladas rancheras and was not totally sure what I'd receive. What I got was a large helping of shredded meat with veggies on top of three cheese enchiladas! Plus, it came with chips and salsa. All for $11. I was totally pleased with my meal, how it was packaged, and the friendliness of the staff. Next time I'll try eating here in person. read more

You could tell the waitor didn't want to be waiting on tables. * The beer we ordered had been watered down!! * When our food arrived, the server had put one plate on top of the other & it made a HUGE mess on the bottom/side of the plate & the table. New Cozumel on Capitol St next to the original Grazianos. This place is super. So much better than Cozumel on Fledderjohns. Awesome atmosphere, great service and quality of the food is very good. Called 6 hours ahead to reserve a seat on the patio now that outdoor dining has been approved by the Governor. When we arrived at the restaurant there were no tables available. They then said that they "can't just keep a table open if people want to eat". Isn't that the whole point of a reservation? They then said we were welcome to get in line and wait with everyone else. No thanks. Here's a tip for the management: if you take a reservation, honor it. Also, their patio is fully enclosed with plastic. This probably doesn't meet the spirit of outdoor dining as it relates to COVID-19. read more

I've never really had a bad meal here. Not the best Mexican I have ever had, but good for where it is. I went in not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Their menu is huge, they have a little bit of everything. I love their cheese dip. It's not the normal Velveeta concoction you get at other restaurants. Their chips are pretty good, and their salsa tastes like it's homemade, not something out of a jar. I was surprised they actually carried Jarritos. I had a taco and a chile relleno, and they were both tasty. The service was pleasant and prompt. My son tried the flan and it was very good. Rich and filling, the way it's supposed to be. The prices are okay, about what you would spend at a chain restaurant. (The beer is pretty cheap, though.) It's worth a stop if you're in the area and craving Mexican food. read more

I consider myself somewhat of a Charleston Mexican food connoisseur. This is probably the last Mexican restaurant that I'd go to. I remember going there as a kid with my father, when there was only a couple Mexican places in town. Back then, it was decent. But now there are some really good ones in town that blow this place out of the water. My wife ad I went there recently because we were out Corridor G and were craving some Mexican food. Anytime I get a plate that's scalding hot, it always tells me the food was nuked in the microwave. In 2020, microwaving food is a no-no. I can mic food at home, why would I go out and pay for that? It's not absolutely terrible but there are 4-5 other Mex places I'd rather go. read more

This is the Mexican restaurant closest to my house and is usually a go-to spot. Food is good. Servers are usually good. Last time I was there, we had a forgetful waitress it seemed but no biggie. It wasn't unbearable. I like the a la Carte shrimp soft tacos. They're simple and just squeeze a little fresh lime on them and you're good to go. read more

Worst mexican "food" ever! Ordered door dash, orders messed up, no cheese on burritos or tacos, salsa as bitter as my temper, just tasted terrible. Called to complain to the manager and they didn't put me on hold so i overheard them decide who was going to pretend to be in charge. Granted, i was angry that my family's meal was a disaster, but the "manager" was REALLY rude. How about an apology? Nope, just a "whatever and thank you. Have a nice day." AHHH!!! Furious!! Excellent Authentic Mexican dining!!! I had the Fajitas Steak dinner and it was cooked to perfection, the refried beans were excellent, Spanish rice just as good, with Guacamole, sour cream, and chopped lettuce and tortillas. Generous portions served on a steaming iron skillet with onions, green and orange peppers. The only thing I regret was no Flan for dessert. Ate there for the first time the other day. Our waitresses was very friendly and brought refills without asking. The food was very good. The only thing is there was some confusion on the new exit. We went to go out the way we came in and the hostess was like " you all were suppose to go out the other way!" Kinda rude with lot of other cousins around. The servers should be telling people the way to go out. Then when we got outside another lady came out the door we just got told no one was a loud to go out of. Just a lot of confusion about it. Most of the menu is NOT tex-mex, so don't come here thinking that. I live in Texas and this food is completely different but really good. Enchiladas Del Mar were delicious! Beef Enchiladas were also really good. Different than I'm used too a little sweeter, a molely type sauce. Husband had the burrito and he liked. Food was all seasoned well. This was my first Mexican experience in Charleston, and I was pretty pleased. There are other commenters on here about bland food, but I'm not exactly sure what they're talking about. Though I'll agree I would have liked some more heat in my meal, Mexican food doesn't have to burn your mouth, or knock out your tongue with cumin to be deemed 'good'. The food was fresh, there were obviously spices used and you could taste the ingredients. I think if I had to complain about anything I'd say that I think their chile de arbol sauce on my chilaquiles was a little brighter than I'd like. But I also got a pork soft taco and it was juicy and flavorful. My wife got enchiladas rancheras and it was also very flavorful. Next time I go I'll just ask them to make my sauce spicier. Service was good, but we went late evening on a Monday. read more

"Cozumeh" with an emphasis on the "meh" is a more appropriate name for this place. The salsa and food were bland. I had chicken fajitas, the chicken had an odd looking yellow-orange color that I'm guessing was achiote. I think cozumeh should start using spices that actually flavor their food instead of spices that basically just color the food. The staff was friendly and refilled our drinks often, that's the only positive thing I can say about Cozumeh. read more

This place is ok. They have some outside seating that looks nice and is cool to hang out and have a beer with your friends when the weather is right. The food is standard Mexican for this area. Later another server came and said she didnt speak English then another server came took order 25 mins later got drinks then are food came out wrong and not all of food was wrong. Ask to speak to manager a teenager came to speak to us and said sorry my grandfather would be disappointed we just open a new restaurant in st albans that's where she said we should of ate..Spoke to daughter of owner very rude been in the business 30 yrs never been treated that way ever will never go back!! read more

We came in over two hours before closing. The front desk/hostess rolled her eyes when she saw us enter and after several minutes finally tore herself away from looking at Facebook on her laptop. Strike one. We get seated and look over the menu. It's so colorful and flashy I thought I was looking at an elementary school art project. Found what we wanted and ordered several (15) minutes later when the waiter appeared. Strike two. I was watching a game on the 2 giant televisions that hung above our heads, then for whatever reason, an hour and half before closing time, they shut the TVs off. Strike three. The food was not good, the chicken fajitas were full of gristle and rather bland. The salsa tasted like it had been heavily peppered, I'm talking black table pepper. Surly Hostess was equally as charming as we attempted to pay the bill. You're out. Will not return and do not recommend it at all. read more

My first trip to this place in 10 years and I won't be back. Our server was not friendly at all. She was not attentive and seemed like she was annoyed to have to wait on us. I ordered the steak fajitas. The plate was mostly green peppers, barely any steak that didn't have much flavor. I found a long hair in my refried beans. When I finally got the servers attention to tell her, she didn't apologize or anything. She just took my plate and brought me a new one. I definitely didn't want to eat any more. Overall, the service was terrible. The food was overpriced and mediocre at best. We can get better food and larger portions for less at Las Trancas, and much better service. This is some of the worst tex-mex I've had in a long time. Where to start first off the services was extreme slow throughout, and it took him over 10 minutes to bring I check once our plates had been taking away. When we were checking out the hostess at front talked on the phone the whole time and did not give us a chance to split the bill. The good was very bland and as some has said more sweet than any spice. Also, I have never seen brocolli,carrots and cauliflower as vegetables on a Mexican dish. Plus the rice had more of a Asian flavor profile and texture rather than the normal Spanish rice profile. Avoid this place if in area try another place. read more

Service was terrible. Employees smoking right in front of the entrance doors. Food was no more authentic than what you would buy off a shelf at a grocery store pre-made. Server barely spoke and and didn't know anything about the menu. When trying to pay one employee sat on the couch at the entrance playing games on his phone.
