Also both of them called me and filled me in on the visit and made reasonable suggestions about things that could be done to improve our setup. (I had been at work but there is a licensed care giver with my wife when I am not there.) When the Speech Therapist (Rita) visited, she had my wife crying hysterically by telling her she needed to go back into a nursing facility. Rita denied saying this to me but the next day Signature had a Care Conference and made the decision to stop caring for my wife saying she needed to go back to a nursing facility. ** They didn't even bother to tell me about this decision! ** They didn't get any input from me. They did not talk to the nursing facility my wife had just come out of. They just called and told our Primary Care they were stopping treatment. A patient's mental state is very important to the recovery process but Signature decided to completely ignore that and made a decision without all of the relevant information. My wife was in a very bad state while in the facility and sending her back would be extremely depressing to her. (The facility was fine, my wife just hated being away from home.) Speech (Rita) had left a list of a dozen things that I was doing wrong. Then talking on the phone, Rita went through that list again. "This is wrong, this is wrong, this is wrong....". She made me feel pretty worthless as a husband trying to do my best caring for my wife. So while some of the interaction was fine, overall it was pretty bad.

Always Best Care Seattle pointed out safety issues that needed immediate attention. These were issues neither my brother and I ever would have spotted. My parents currently have a caregiver a few days a week. The caregiver does their cleaning, laundry, preps meals for them, makes lunch and I'm sure many more things that I'm not aware of! Their home has never looked better (it actually sparkles)! Their caregiver always is on time (few minutes early actually) starts the day by sitting down with my parents and catching up and finding out what their priorities are for the day. Since they are homebound the social aspect is a really important part of their overall care. The caregivers have all been EXCELLENT. Each caregiver is very caring, loving and obviously love what they are doing. Any questions I have had (either for their caregivers or the ABCSEATTLE office staff-even the most random question they have had an answer for me or a suggested resource. Not only is she knowledgeable and considerate of patient and caretaker, she is quite certainly one of the most caring and patient caregivers I have ever met. She, quite literally, pulled us from the dark dungeon of the first two weeks; she was there when no one else was available. Her cheerful smile and lilting voice was a welcome respite from the unending problems that we encountered. I can, with great conviction, say that neither my husband nor I as the 24/7 caregiver, would have made it without her. Talk about someone who goes above and beyond, and you have the very definition of this wonderful young woman. We have used Careage for my husband's first hip replacement in 2015, but this one was so much harder and so much more intense. Careage is indeed lucky to have Oana as an employee. Her directions are clear and concise and she never allows desperate depression to exist once she is in the house. Whatever Careage is paying her, it isn't enough. I owe my husband's life to her care and have told her on many occasions, "Thank you- there are no words other than thank you."

This kind of service leaves patients and their caregivers in the lurch when providing care and comfort to their loved ones. The management team does not know how to manage their staff appropriately in terms of time management and accountability.. The one nurse we did work with regularly complained of not enough staff for the coverage area, accountability from leadership and basically doing their required duties in care. I would not recommend this agency especially if you value the health and wellbeing of your loved ones.
