When I got to the office, I liked how all the paperwork I had to fill out was electronic. There was also a cool arcade game inside for you to play on while you were waiting in the "lobby area". The office was very nice, clean and bright. I arrived early for my massage, but the therapist did not see me until almost ten minutes after my scheduled massage time. The massage however was pretty good. Not as hard as I would have liked it but what I liked was that he kept asking me if the pressure was good or not. Or if the massaging helps. He tried to go harder. After the massage was the adjustment... I saw the doctor briefly and it seemed pretty quick. I told him about the pain in my neck and he helped me realize why I've been having it. The adjustment was pretty quick... about 5-6 minutes. Before I stepped into this place I was so on the fence about chiropractors. I had some serious pain in my neck and all the way down my right arm the first time I walked in. Keep in mind I had been to another chiropractor just a week prior. I was referred by a friend of mine and decided to go in to have my neck looked at but was 100% skeptical about how it was going to turn out. 5 minutes after I walked in the door, I knew I made the right decision. I had a legitimate consultation and then did the adjustment. I stated feeling better hours later. The doctor told me to come back the following week and get adjusted again and I decided to go for it. It turns out I had a bulged disk/pinched nerve in my upper neck. He had me come back a second time and things started to get better. The 3rd visit he asked me to come in earlier and get a deep tissue massage at very discounted rate because he wasn't able to crack my upper neck. The 3rd visit was a deep tissue massage followed by the adjustment and it worked out perfectly. I did two more visits and my pain was gone! I have never seen a chiropractor before in my entire life and decided to give it a whirl with a LivingSocial massage+adjustment deal. Holy life-changing experience, Batman!! I arrived on time at the office, parking was easy (plenty of street and metered parking) and the office space was large, open, and clean. The receptionist was a sweetheart who was very helpful in getting me started. I filled out my "paperwork" on an electronic writing tablet (very green of Clear Purpose Chiropractic) and only waited a couple minutes before I was ushered in for my massage. Thomas (really friendly, nice, tall Asian guy) was my masseuse and he was AWESOME. I've had a LOT of massages and he ranks in the top 3 masseuses I've ever experienced in my entire life. If you go here for a masseuse, try to get one with Thomas!! He had really calm energy, perfect pressure, and provided an incredible and professional massage with a bottle of water afterwards. After the massage, I met Dr. Yarmand. He was very caring and ultra-knowledable, assessed for old injuries (I'd actually had a serious neck injury suffered while snowboarding at Mammoth 3 years ago and never did anything about it), showed me what he was going to do with the adjustment, and then proceeded to take me to one of the cool-looking "adjustment chairs" and lay down for my adjustment. Dr. Yarmand had me take a deep breath in and a deep breath out and as I was breathing out... SNAP! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! Over and over, he adjusted different vertebrae that had apparently misaligned after my accident. At first I was a little scared that my neck was going to break but luckily Dr. Yarmand knew what he was doing and was finished within minutes. After the adjustment, I was led to another cool little chair where I bent my head back and noticed I could bend it back farther than before the adjustment. So cool! My back and neck feel great and I was very appreciative of Dr. Yarmand and his professional, warm, knowledgable service. I have a feeling I'll be back at some point, they gave me a sheet as I was leaving with some awesome specials (with some of them, a 1-hour massage is only $40 - WHAT???!!! I've paid $150/hour before for the quality of the massage that Thomas gave me!!). As the saying goes, when your only tool is a hammer, all your patients are nails. Dr Yarmand doesn't weild a hammer, but he's equally dangerous with his weapon of choice the Drop Table. Our regular, amazing Active Release certified chiropractor will tell you the Drop Table should only be used in certain situations with very robust joints... but Dr Yarmand attacked my aching knee with it with gusto causing me incredible pain and forcing me to spend the rest of the afternoon in bed with an icepack on my swollen knee. When I relayed the story my regular Active Release chiro was horrified... and thankfully managed to calm down some of the damage done. They have an obnoxious Telemarking-like video they make you sit through as a new patient and attempt to upsell you on costly xrays you likely don't need (a good chiro can feel and see without needing them). When I refused the Xrays they tried to bill my insurance for them anyway. There are some great Chiros in LA, this is very much not one of them. read more

I bought a living social deal for an hour massage and a chiropractic adjustment and evaluation. When I got there I filled out paperwork via a computer since they are trying to go paperless! Great idea! Next I met with the doctor who did the evaluation and showed me what he thought were some issues and how to fix it. Next I got the hour long massage, which I must say I was pleasantly suprirsed. She was very good and did great deep tissue. I like firm pressure where you know they are getting the knots out. Not once did I have to tell her to go deeper. Then I was adjusted by the doctor. Love that part, releases so much tension and the massage helps loosen you up. After that he did some neck stretch thing that is supposed to help with problems like mine. I was really blessed the day I found Dr. Yarmand and Danielle at the El Segundo 5 K Race. I had just started to run and they were both there at a booth. Usually I steer clear of chiropractors because I have been to many and feel they just want to keep you going for the $$$. However, Dr. Yarmand and his family and staff are different and actually want to build healthy communities and relationships with their patients. He has tips and articles for us to read every time we go in there. Whenever I have a problem, he uses pictures and charts to show me what is going on inside my body so that I can have a better sense of body awareness. His staff provides a family feel and with his beautiful wife and two kids there, you really feel at home. Although i never got into the video games, it was always cool to see him and Danielle battling it out on Super Mario Go-Kart racing or Street Fighters. The energy at the office is always positive and healing and I really appreciate the changes and adjustments he not only performs on us, his patients, but on his office as well. Dr. Yarmand is a life safer. I've been plagued by back pain and a herniated disk since high school. I was a college athlete and have remained active through my mid 30s. At least once a year, my back would flare up and take me out of sports activity. More importantly, as I had gotten older, sitting in desk chairs and airplanes for business travel had aggravated my back to the point where I was in constant, daily pain. I tried everything: rehab, yoga, personal trainer, acupuncture. I even considered surgery. After just a couple appointments with Dr. Yarmand, I started to see real improvements. The traction table and the adjustments were making a big difference. The visits once or twice a week, combined with the specific exercises he gave me for home, really loosened up my back. After 3-4 weeks, the daily pain was completely gone. I now stop in once a week for an adjustment, and it's allowed me to play sports again, free of pain and limitation. I've been feeling some pain in my lower back due to sitting improperly in front of a computer (further exacerbated by playing Capoeira) and was referred to Clear Purpose by a co-worker who has since healed up well from her back injury after her sessions here. I had never been to a chiropractor before and was very apprehensive at first but now I trust the Dr. and the process. I like the transparency of the whole process which begins with X-rays and an explanation of why I was feeling discomfort. I'm still getting used to having my neck and back cracked but Dr. Yarmand is very considerate when it comes to the adjustments, making sure that the pressure is ok and that I'm comfortable. I was recently treated after being in an accident. The pairing of chiropractic adjustments and deep tissue massages is simply amazing. I really like how convenient it is to get an appointment at Clear Purpose Chiropractic. They have specific walk in adjusting times that work perfectly for my schedule. I had chronic lower back pain for about 8 months to the point where I couldn't stand up straight after sitting. I stopped exercising and was miserable. I tried two different physical therapists and one other local chiropractor, all useless. I work in fashion. As if that wasn't enough of a headache! I used to get headaches ALL the time. I was skeptical about going in to get an adjustment, but I am so glad I did. My husband needed an adjustment when he woke up few days ago so after calling his regular chiro and seeing he was booked up I looked up others nearby. The lady who answered was very friendly and booked the appt for him that morning as he was barely able to move. After the adjustment just few hours later he was in pain again. The next day he went to his regular chiro who did a better job adjusting and is priced way better. I guess In the world of chiro you don't get better adjustment when you pay more. Let's start off with the fact that I got a LivingSocial deal for an hour long massage, a chiropractic adjustment, and an evaluation. I forgot how much I paid, but all I knew was it was a FANTASTIC deal that I had to jump on it... and believe me, I jump on a lot of deals involving massages. I'm also one of those people who buy deals on LS or Groupon, and don't use them until the VERY last minute (I called a day before it expired to try to get in). They didn't have any appointments open, but they did allow last minute callers to book an appoint on certain days, even after the expiration date. I was scheduled in two weeks later. Even if they wouldn't allow me to redeem, I would have just gotten a refund from Living Social, but I'm glad I got to use it. I think that was great customer service on their part, BECAUSE they are looking at a new repeat client!! I got there half an hour early (my GPS tried to point me down further from where the office was, but good thing I was aware!) and I was greeted by the receptionist and then filled out information via electronic tablet. Soon, I was put in a room with Dr. Yarmand. He asked me questions about my problems spots, and even raised questions that I never thought about (like numbness when I type). He then showed me a virtual bone/muscle diagram on his laptop and went through some explanations. Afterwards, he showed me out and put me in the care of the massage therapist: Anthony. Out of the 100+ massages I've had, I must say I never had one like Anthony. Reason being is that every other massage I've had, it was always just a massage plus some type of soothing music, dim light, and scented fragrance. Yes, you get that here, but I never felt any sort of connection. Other places, it's just come get your massage and go. But I actually had a real conversation with Anthony during the whole massage session and I must say I really liked that. I understand that other places, it's all about relaxation, but I thought it was quite nice to have someone to talk to while getting a massage. After, I got the chiropractic adjustment. I like how Dr. Yarmand is aware of his patients. I didn't have to wait, just after I left the massage room, he showed me to the adjustment area. Other places, I'd have to wait at least 5 minutes until I get the next part of whatever the massage package was. And... as Ivy K. said, "Holy life-changing experience, Batman!!" I've been to another Chiropractor before, and I've been adjusted... but OMG. Dr. Yarmand's hands are like magic. MAGIC! I never felt such relief before. I must return.
