Ok. Dr Rodriguez is a GOD. He has repeatedly, over the years, fixed my SI joint that sometimes gets out of whack. I don't trust anyone else with my body bc I will walk in a mess and over one or two sessions, I'm mostly healed. This time, I tweaked my neck and neck muscle. He cracked my neck so well I feel like I grew 5 inches and I can move my neck again. He also takes time to give personal touches and massaged the hurt area each and every time. If I could give 6 stars, I would. Where to begin? I came to Dr Carlos 6 years ago after multiple disc dislocations in my lower back. It was the first time I'd ever used a decompression machine. His team was very kind and helpful in setting me up for spinal decompression. Within the first few treatments, I felt mobility returning and a distinct reduction in pain. The new machine they recently got is a huge upgrade, too. It's extremely powerful and gentle: I came in with a busted disc again last week, and within one treatment + adjustment, my pain went from a 7 to a 2. The real magic though is Dr Carlos and his team--they are super skilled, knowledgeable, and have a deep understanding of body mechanics. After suffering a car accident last week, my back started getting spasms and burning, so I decided it was in my best interest to find a chiro who could heal the pain. The accident happened on Thursday evening and the pain didn't start getting unbearable until Friday night. It was hard to sit without feeling spikes shooting up my spine. I was advised by everyone to seek the out a chiro. I came on Yelp and looked for doctors who were open on Saturday and luckily stumbled across Prodigy with five 5 star reviews. I decided to risk it and made an appt. Called Saturday morning and spoke to Jack who was really nice on the phone. He said to come in at 11 am and get checked up and stuff. Also, since I mentioned Yelp I got a $150 discount on my visit. Now, that's a sweet deal. Dr. Rodriguez was cool, funny and knowledgeable. He said my back was effed up due to the accident and that I needed to be realigned back. UGH. I was hoping it would just go away, but so glad that I went and sought professional help. Anyway, we did some therapy and took some X-rays. I'm doing therapy with him now and would recommend him to anyone who needs chiro care. The only thing I hate about the realignment is hearing my neck crack. But, as long as I get better, it's all worth it. read more

Went in today. Dr. Rodriguez was knowledgeable and kind. I really wanted an adjustment since I always self-adjust and I know it makes my alignment worse. It felt great to have the adjustments done professionally. I also felt very listened to, and not over-sold on anything. He recommended x-rays and I declined since I am paying out of pocket and he had no problem with that. I also voiced that I didn't want orthodics since I am barefoot most of the time, and he was also understanding about that. The price was reasonable, especially since I am not using insurance. Dr. Carlos and his team are the best in the area! I have been to 4 different chiropractors in the past and Dr. Carlos has by far enabled the best results. I train jiu-jitsu and have had some good wear and tear due to training over the years. I was referred to Prodigy through another person from my academy going to Prodigy. The thing that impressed me the most with Dr. Carlos was that he completely understood the issues I was having on first checkup. He treats other athletes with the same issues and has also done some combat sports in the past, so he knew exactly what was happening. He has always understood my issues and explained them to me at detailed level, provided great treatment, and also provided some good advice on how to prevent/pre-hab these issues. I schedule periodic appointments to establish good maintenance and schedule a walk-in when I have any immediate problems. I highly recommend Dr. Carlos and team at Prodigy. read more

(2012 edit: Turned out even the diagnosis was bogus, it was just my arthritis acting up and getting on Remicade was what I needed) Con: did not receive any genuinely good advice on how to deal with it. Felt pushed for Xrays and worthless Chiro therapies that don't do ANYTHING. Got much better advice searching online for the condition. General note to all: Yelp is filled with fake rave reviews. Full Review: Went to see Mr. Rodriguez in Santa Monica due to high yelp ratings and free consultation. I have had recurring pain over many years which was not diagnosed correctly by the other Chiro (Khalsa in Pasadena). It turns out it is very common and a good practitioner may be able to diagnose over the phone even. There are very simple steps one needs to take for the recovery and I did not get any of that at this place. I did pay $85 for the treatment (scary rib cage adjustments, neck cracks, traction table, some ice therapy, some fancified TENS none of which helps cure, or in this case, even reduced the pain) but I managed to veer off the silly Xray of $120. Xrays don't show muscles but he said he wanted to see my bones due to my other rheumatic conditions. Hum. I specifically asked a few times if there are any exercises I should perform at home or any thing to avoid and did not get real answers. What I got was, "there is a lot going on in there and cant solve in one session." I appreciate the diagnosis and do believe traction table may bring some flexibility to some people but I had to find the real answers online: use a neck and back brace, avoid strenuous exercise, stretch, use warmth and give it time. The moment you're told by any professional they're gonna do this and that, ask about the costs and don't be shy. All professionals are running a business and you should treat it as one also. read more

** First time at a chiropractor and professional dancer** I went in here with terrible low back pain, I wasn't sure what was wrong and as a dancer I needed to get better ASAP. Dr. Casey and Dr. Rodriguez were both awesome. They were understanding that moving around was my job but realistic with me about the amount of physical activity I could do. With their help and guidance four weeks later I am back to my normal dance schedule and feeling no pain! They are both amazing,they tell you to call in whenever you have a problem or question. I have to say that I had a great experience with Carlos and his team at Prodigy Chiro Care! Having a mild variation of scoliosis and kyphosis I wasn't sure where to turn. I saw the great reviews for Prodigy and being that they were so close to me I was happy to give them a try. Their staff and office facility were top notch! Sarah and Shane are 2 very sweet girls and were always on the ball and always reminded me of my appointments. Carlos himself is a very high energy guy who is very passionate about his trade. He definitely helped me understand my condition and made me feel comfortable in moving forward with treatment. After about 18 sessions I definitely feel like changes have happened. My posture seems better and I feel more comfortable in my every day activities. I still need to do more work to get where I'd like to be but I think Carlos has gotten me off to a great start. While I was grateful to be seen as a new patient, be aware that you have to pay $175 for your first visit. Your subsequent visits are billed at $65 a visit, and you are required to prepay $780 up front for 12 treatments. The initial treatment was satisfactory with a few minutes of trigger work. However, my subsequent visits left a lot to be desired. The treatment is very pedestrian with just a basic ice pack and electric stimulation. I asked for an alternative to the electric stimulation as it can cause me to experience muscle spasms and cramp up. Despite my aversion to electric stimulation, no alternative treatment was offered, and they didn't do any massage, or offer any equipment/exercises for rehabilitation. The best chiropractors I have been to always incorporate a diverse array of ultra sound, massage, and trigger work, and possibly even cupping and acupuncture before you get adjusted. My last treatment I think they were short staffed as the initial doctor I had was not available, and was told a different doctor was en route. I was told to do the ice for 12 minutes, and that the doctor would be right there. After waiting for 45+ minutes, I eventually had to leave to go back to work as I could only take an hour off for my lunch break. Despite not being treated, and not receiving electric stimulation I was still charged the full rate. $65+ for an ice pack is ridiculous. When I asked to cancel the remaining treatments I had pre-paid, I was told I would have to wait until they could mail me a check. When I received the check in the mail it was only for $525. If I only received 3 treatments (technically 2 as I never even got adjusted on my last treatment) that would be at most $195 worth of treatments. As such I should have been credited at minimum $585 back. As someone who has been a frequent beneficiary of chiropractic care, this was by far one of the most underwhelming clinics I have ever been to. read more
