Tim (owner/instructor) is very knowledgeable in his field and definitely knows how to properly conduct a class. If you are looking for engaging BLS, ACLS, or PALS look no further. Tim and his staff (especially Erika) are helpful, and teach in a stress free environment. They are down to earth and straight to the point. The class goes by quick because you are constantly moving, running codes, etc... everything is a hands on approach. I am just shocked by the amount of bad reviews and WHAT EXACTLY the people are complaining about is SO ridiculous. It makes me scared for the society in which we live... Why are people so sensitive and think that the world revolves around them? How are you going to handle the emergency if you're so soft? Also if someone wants to watch videos... can't you do it at home? About the actual classes. I think Tim is a perfect instructor for these types of classes. You can tell that he knows what he is talking about and he knows it VERY well. He uses a lot of analogies to help understand the concept. Tim is a fantastic instructor and actually got me interested in a career with medicine! He will give you life threatening scenarios and make you realize how quickly a patient's life could be gone. He's very strict but in a good way because these are peoples lives! I enjoyed the feedback and how he was like: imagine this is the emergency department. I just completed my first aid and cpr training. Tim was a great teacher, he was very knowledgeable and informed me on things beyond the training for everyday health / life. Tim has a variety of background knowledge from EMT, trainings, and he is a professor. One thing that I appreciated during my training is that I had to respond to different scenarios of different situations between the entire training. That helped me cognitively respond to these different directions. If I was stuck, Tim walked me through it. There were dummies being used that actually had an object in their mouths to imitate helping with choking. I learned how to administer an epi-pen on myself and another person, correctly remove gloves and dispose them in biohazard trash. I also learned how to use an AED for the first time and Tim walked me through each step and so did the AED. I highly recommend taking this course because it is hands on, Tim is a great instructor, and the class is very informative. With that said, follow their protocols of scheduling and paying for your appointment and follow through by showing up on time so that you can be certified in whatever you need. read more

This is an excellent place with the most flexible schedule we could find for my mom, who needed certification for her job. The instructor was so kind, and took my mom's disabilities into account, but made sure that she would still be able to administer proper CPR if the need ever arises. My classmates and I have been dealing with CPR Right Away for a while. They are very professional, to the point, informative, and accommodating! They came to our campus to renew our BLS for an awesome price. They even had our cards already printed out after the class! We liked them so much that we took other classes with them. I have been a medical professional for over 20 years and this was by far the worst BLS Healthcare Provider Class I have ever had the misfortune of taking. Where do I even start? I have a feeling that if the American Heart Association could see how this class is run they would pull them from the program. It's like nothing I've ever seen. To begin with the door to the facility was locked and the instructors showed up 5 minutes late still chewing on their food. Once the doors were opened, the place was trashed, with remnants from the last class strewn all over the place. CPR has quite a bit of info that needs to be grasped and learned in a condensed amount of time, but for some reason the main instructor (Tim) felt the need to share vast amounts of superfluous info that is not necessary during a CPR Class, a few examples: scope of practice tangents, feet transplants, boyfriend paying for everything at Cheesecake Factory, how to estimate your own blood pressure, kids falling out of windows, CPR in Saudi Arabia, how if police are called to a code they will stand there and not help, etc etc. I could go on but I will spare you! The AHA BLA course comes with videos that present the CPR info. These videos weren't really shown much, a few seconds here and there, and constantly paused to allow the instructor to share more of his "vast knowledge" (that was absolutely not necessary for the course). So basically they don't show the videos but rather spend hours talking and talking about anything and everything. The main instructor also operates with an intimidate and ridicule teaching method, which again I doubt the AHA would approve of. Yelling, "wrong" to a student taking the course doesn't quite set the tone for a healthy learning environment. I have also never attended a CPR class where the "F" Word was used freely by the instructor. In addition to the less than professional language, the instructor mispronounces key medical terms: Instead of Mid-Axillary line, the instructor calls it Mid-Auxillary line. Instead of Defibrillation, the instructor pronounces it defibillation. There's an R in the word!!! For students who are new to the medical field, these mispronunciations are unacceptable and set them up for future mistakes. I could go on and on. But long story short, if you are wanting to take the AHA BLS course the way it is intended and the way AHA has set it up, this is not the place to do so! This is a disorganized, ad lib, condescending-teaching-method kind of place. I went to this place because it was recommended by Harbor College; whom I will be informing of the horrible experience. At first it is intense! Study before you come to class because he will know you didn't study. When I first took this class Tim gave me anxiety.. but when I had my first code blue as a new grad in ER.. I didn't panic.. I knew exactly what to do. I had Tim in my head telling me what to do! For that, I thank him... at the time of class I didn't realize how much I was learning. But I learned a lot. If you are weak and can't take a straightforward answer that you will say he is rude but Tim is not rude he is honest and direct. So get with the program because life isn't easy and this class is for learning and not for slacking off! read more

There's no doubt that Tim knows his stuff and very concisely teach the material. But sadly, I'm not too fan of his teaching method. I learned a lot from him and carol. But, my overall experience was just "Ok" Few things, He criticizes people for where they work and what they do. He is quick to judge you and tell you why you shouldn't be working there, or why he wont not go to your hospital cause of how terrible it is, blah blah blah. I didn't go there for a review of hospital I work at. I know it's a learning hospital but I don't need the be told how I made a terrible mistake working there. People have to start somewhere especially if you're a new grad RN. New Grad rns needs motivation to learn and earn experience, they dont need negative nancies to drag their confidence down. Second, he likes putting people on the spot. He will just make you feel stupid. I agree with previous reviews that he is "rude" Third, people make mistake but they will not fix THEIR mistake for free. So make sure that you leave with everything set, and everything filled correctly in the card because you're gonna have to pay them to fix anything. I'm so happy that my renewals will be covered by my hospital. I just needed to get my initial certs from them and I'm just happy It's over. read more

Had to renew my CPR card ASAP so I found this place on Yelp based on reviews. My instructor was Tim. I didn't know his name up until the end of my lesson but that was all good. Lol! As soon as I walked in, he got me started. He worked very fast but since I'm already in the medical field, I'm pretty sure he assumed this was just a review. We went through all types of rescue methods and he was very knowledgeable about everything. He even gave me extra information just incase I needed it. After all the lessons and return demonstrations, I took the test and got my card. So easy! If you need a CPR card ASAP, this place will get it done. read more

My whole experience with CPR Right Away was great! I called Tim 2 days ahead to schedule an ACLS class and he sent me a study guide to prepare me for class. When I got to my appointment we started right away. He was thorough and made sure I understood everything. He accommodated everyone basing on their needs or speed of processing unfamiliar material. He's friendly and knowledgeable. And the price? Ai! You can't beat that deal! Call them and u would be surprised at how cheap it is for such good quality of teaching. The only thing I didn't like is that there's a test! After passing NCLEX I swore never to take a test again! I love this place and will be coming back here for all of my certifications! To start with, my schedule is always full with very little time for anything extra. So, it was nice to get a class time that worked for me and in a timely manner. I sent them a text message with my full name and Tim responded with the address, directions and the amount the class would cost. The location was easy to find and there was plenty of parking. Because it was Sunday the doors are locked(they do this at my building too) the passcode from the text message worked right away and the classroom was simple to find. The classroom looked clean, simple and there was air conditioning! Tim was our instructor and offered us candy, coffee and water if we needed any. The class started exactly on time. Tim was very thorough with each lesson and even gave some personal stories of his experiences in the field. He answered all of our questions and when we ran through the code he made me feel like it was really happening. I appreciate him creating the sense of urgency that you would feel when going through an emergency. He wrapped up the class with a quick test and class evaluations. I definitely recommend coming here for your certifications. Especially if you want to go into emergency. I never thought I would need to use the skills I had just learned. Sure enough though, my fiancé sliced off part of his finger within 15 minutes of me getting home from class. I immediately used the skills I had just learned with success and he is doing great! If i could give negative starts i would. I invited this company into my home for a cpr course. All good. Course was okay, I paid. Well that was in DECEMBER. It is now ALMOST APRIL and after 7 or 8 times of calling this company they STILL have not sent me a CPR card, even after I have begged them to sent it since i need proof of certification for my job. This company has no regard for its clients. Very very disappointing. Ive now had to pay for a new course. So unprofessional. read more

Tim the instructor was polite & helpful over the phone when scheduling me in . I took the class along with two other people & we did hands on practice with the manikins. Carol and Tim are awesome! The classes here are educational, high energy, full of scenarios that help you tie the information to practice. These people don't teach this for money. They are actively in the healthcare field and are PASSIONATE about what they do. I pulled though a night shift and came in for a class with no sleep in almost 40 hours and was still entertained. I would call them because they are always expanding what kinds of classes they offer. In our profession it's imperative to get ahead of the curve, be knowledgeable and grow with changes that continuously occur to increase the efficiency of care. Tim was honestly the worst person I ever had to deal with in my life. He put me down 24/7 and did not care what so ever about his students. The room was small and smelled gross. He made me buy another CPR card for his mistake that I didn't catch because I was starving from 5 hours straight of a class full with him yelling at us and teaching us nothing that had to do with saving a persons life with cpr. Tim was very informative and helpful. I learned a lot more with him than when I took my CPR course 5 years ago. Hours and scheduling are flexible; I thought I would have to wait a whole month to get a class but was immediately accommodated. Like many others stated Tim laminates the certificates right there, very professional.
