The instructor, Tim, was awesome. I really regret not taking him for other courses because his class was very informative and he is really knowledgeable about all the AHA's protocols and algorithms (and he hilarious to boot). I am a nursing student that is about to graduate and I wanted to get as much certifications out of my way prior to applying for jobs. I took the PALS course with Tim, and, honestly, I learned so much more in the couple of hours with him than I did with my other certification classes. He was able to explain the PALS information in a quick, efficient, and understandable way. Tim is a working paramedic so he has a lot of stories to tell to related to the algorithms in PALS which, for me, makes it more easier to understand. Tim really cares about the success of his students so he'll recommend free online certification that will further make you appealing when you apply to hospitals such as NIHSS or FEMA. I loved the way Tim so much that I also took his ECG/Pharmacology course and, now, I feel so much more comfortable with ECG strips. Thank you very much, Tim!! I was looking for a certified CPR class that could come to my office and soon! I work for two doctors whose CPR certification would be expiring soon and it is absolutely vital that they stay certified. Being doctors with their own private practice and being on call at two different hospitals it isn't easy for them to go to a class to get re-certified. Came in this morning with some fellow classmates. My classmate said she got a group deal for us and it was just $30! So I figured why not. We started at 8am and had an instructor named Dean. He was very good on explaining what needed to be done in emergency situations. An hr later some other students showed up and another instructor showed up. I thought that was different, we dont really mix classes in the original cpr class I go to. The second instructor was teaching the whole class now, and the other ppl just joined in. He was a ok instructor as well, just a bit in your face, yelling and questioning you whether or not you can really go into a profession you've been wanting to be in LOL -2stars for that. Thought that was a little weird... Haha but anyways we partnered up and shared the dummies and did a lot of practice. There are better places to go rather than this place. read more

Awesome class and staff. Today, I took a AHA BLS CPR/First Aid course with a few of my fellow nursing class mates. There was 5 of us nursing student for the BLS CPR/First Aid and one pastor for the heartsaver CPR/first aid class. We had Tim & Herson (not sure on spelling) and they were great! They also had tips for us going into nursing and provided examples of what they have experienced in their careers in the medical field. But they made sure to provide examples of how the techniques we were learning would apply to everyday life even for the pastor. They were up to date on the changes made to the techniques we were learning. I learned things in this session that I didn't learn the past two times I got my CPR certification. They also provided coffee and candy for those who need a little pick me up. They have great prices for their classes. And offer group discounts. We took 4 hours for the BLS and First aid combo. The pastor who only needed heartsaver left earlier than us. We took a little test after but they go over the material. No book required for our course. Highly recommend! I'll be coming here every time I need re-certification or even higher level classes. read more

Tim attempted to teach multiple courses at once, when I attended he was teaching CPR, BLS, ACLS, ECG. It was unorganized because he trys to get everyone to work on the samething but we're there for differnt certifications. He will tell you to do one thing, then tell his other groups there for another course to do something else's while continuously interrupting what he asks you to do and before you get the oppertunity to complete his initial requested task he's ready to move on. It's hard to concentrate on the videos he attempts to have you watch because he constantly interrupts you and is teaching his other class in the same room. He was very rude with me and made some inappropriate comments that made the environment uncomfortable. He was sharing his " vast knowldge" with one of his many test bank of stories and felt I was not listening to him, and he got sooo butt hurt so for the remainder of the time he kept indirectly making rude remarks toward me in a very childishly manner too I might add. While I have no doubt Tim knows his stuff there's definelty a reason he's cheaper than the competition. read more

This was the worst ever experience that I've had in a CPR class, or any class at that. First off, I want to start by saying that the the two young ladies working here are amazing and put up with a lot, the real problem was the main male instructor Tim. When you go to a class you are there to learn and be corrected in a professional and positive manner, but NOT here!!! Tim decided to combine both the ALS and BLS classes, which at first I didn't mind because they needed the extra help for there scenario and more knowledge is great. However, he began to treat all of us in BLS as if we were in the ALS class and when we didn't do as he said, due to confusion of lack of knowledge, in a matter of seconds, then he would stop to ridicule us. His exact words were that we were "Mediocre and careless." I understood his perspective, since he says that he deals with real life situations in which deficient knowledge can be harmful, like in a health care setting, but there is a manner in which correcting someone is done that doesn't lower their self-esteem and confidence. The entire emergency scenario he was insulting either people individually or the entire group, he even went as far as to insult his own staff while all of us were in the same room. OH and he continuously preached about having confidence and how it was critical in a health care setting, which I agree with, but how are we supposed to build confidence with instructors like him that focus there class around what we were doing wrong and insult every chance they get, rather than on how we could improve ourselves. Now, what was even more disturbing was his sexist remark that he made when were practicing CPR. He said that men should be doing the compressions because "they are built differently" and that women should be comforting the scared parents because they are more sensitive/compassionate. Like I am not making this up!! He literally said that to me and my friend!!!!! I honestly can go on and on....but I can't waste more of my time on this guy. All I am going to say is please, just avoid this guy and his class if you want to avoid his negativity and ridicule, believe me, saving no amount of money could convince me to EVER return here. I would rather pay the $65 dollars at the other CPR classes available and enjoy my experience. If you like to be put on a spot and being told that you don't belong in medical field because your answer to his question is not exactly what he had in mind, then this is the place for you! Tim, the instructor, was very brash, rude, and condescending towards his students. I have never seen an instructor use "F" word in a professional setting so many times and throws sex jokes in front of group of girls every 5 seconds. He is very unprofessional and makes people around him feel very uncomfortable. He kept asking me where I worked and I refused to answer him and kept taunting me that he will figure it out and will come find me... super creepy...He was running 3 different classes at the same time and talked over the instruction videos that we were watching so I didn't hear half the things on that video. Equipments that we had to use looked like they haven't been cleaned for years and one of the mannequin was broken so 4 of us had to share one working one. I would not recommend this class to anyone and will never come back. Worst CPR class ever. read more

CPR Right Away made it so easy. Called the day before, got the class the next day. Checked in and they were right on their yelp discount promise.. Our instructed Dean was friendly and amiable from the start, didn't have any complaints whatsoever about him all throughout the whole thing. He was eloquent which is huge for instructors and he was funny and shared relevant things and didn't really ramble or go off on tangents. You can tell he knows what he's doing. Learned a lot of new things. The facility was well equipped got to play with the mannequins and the AEDs and the hands on practice I thought, were very helpful in feeling confident about the skills we were learning. He was incredibly knowledgable and overflowed with more and more useful info I felt he could go on forever if he wanted to. Easy to get an appointment! Very friendly & competent instructor. I had one-on-on class as it turned out. Was able to ask questions and materials were easy to understand. I highly recommend coming here if you beed a cert or re-cert. almost half the price Red Cross was charging and its actually a pain to get scheduled with Red Cross. This place does same-day appointments! Red Cross waits until weekends and until they have a giant class to teach which is great but when you just need your cert and can't wait weeks/months for a class to open and not cancel on you 3x this is your place. Plus I feel the smaller class size was better as opposed to a giant class because I could ask all of the questions I wanted and really got what I paid for. read more

Excellent Course! I have taken several CPR/BLS courses in hospital and University settings...my BLS certification expired and I needed to re-certify ASAP. The hospital that I work at did not offer a course until the end of the month, so I Googled CPR training near Redondo Beach and found CPR Right Away. This was the best course I have ever taken! I just finished my ACLS class today with these guys and I can not be more satisfied with it. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable and very clear with the material they were teaching. I especially appreciated how close they made the scenarios to real life situations. In my position as a RT, I see numerous amounts of CPR performed on patients at work and these guys were spot on with every detail of what happens.
