Today was no exception. When I first triggered the automatic doors to enter the actual post office from the lobby & self service area, I had to stay outside for only a minute before the clerk called the next patron. Then everyone in line moved up to the next green line. The six foot social distancing is easily enforced with these green strips on the floor. Three clerks were on duty. In less than 5 minutes, the 3 patrons in front of me were helped and it was my turn. Michelle got me my sheet of stamps and put postage on my package for my sisters in LA, ran my credit card, and gave me my receipt - all in less than 3 minutes. Fabulous! I love this P. O.

When the line is long, I always get an apology when I get to the clerk and I get out within 15 minutes. Every person with whom I have interacted at this post office has been friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. If you are not sure which special stamps are in stock, you can always look at their display box by the line. It has all of the stamps available. Today I bought a sheet of lunar new year snake stamps and lunar new year horse stamps. They will be gifts to babies born in those years for the first birthday that they can write a thank you letter!

The staff had experienced a power outage and had to reboot their scales today. She even verbally attacked a young woman and her children. The staff handled her with grace and professionalism. We were all cringing at the abusive woman and I hope the staff had a much more positive day. They deserved a medal! Hopefully this isn't something they have to deal with on a daily basis. Agents behind the counter were taking the time to explain what folks could expect, lower priced alternate options. I was pretty impressed and surprised based on their current rating. I did not just drop off mail, I had received a package from Europe and the product was damaged. They went through the entire process of what I could expect, completed the form 3831 I needed to give the sender for my refund. They informed me they would take control of the package, one less thing to deal with for me. The entire time, no one acted like they were being "put out", just very courteous and helpful.

So sad to here of the closed Downtown Safety Harbor USPS, but thank goodness for the Newly Opened Post Office Square! For downtown Safety Harbor Residents, it has been a joy to go to the regular Post Office downtown for many years. It relocated out of downtown leaving some residents hanging. Guess what? Now Post Office Square not only offers what the Post office can do, but a whole lot more. Post office square can do USPS stuff, FedEx, DHL, and in a little bit fingerprinting services too (they had the machine in the office, it just needed to be setup in the coming weeks). I brought in a package to ship that needed a little attention in the packing department (i.e. I didn't have tape at home, and I brought an weird box in) and the staff at Post Office Square Re-packaged everything for me safely and got my stuff to it's destination. I also learned that you can open a Private Mailbox here, it's like a P.O. box but with a real address! They will even grab stuff from Amazon for you! Are you a snowbird and want your mail to be down here in Safety Harbor and shipped up to you in NY or Michigan when you're up there for the Summers? Oh they will do this for you too! Had a great experience here and can't wait to continue to do business with them. As a bonus they have plenty of parking, and it's a convenient downtown location.
