This place has a friendly staff; the people who works here are courteous. I accidentally bought two tickets for myself and asked if one of them can be canceled. The person who helped me was very nice. He fixed the problem right away. He says that the money will go back to my card in 2-3 days. I'm surprised they had chairs here! Around 10 to 15 years ago, I used to play at Gamepod Combat Zone. At Gamepod, during that time they had no chairs! Had I known this place has chairs, I would not have brought my own foldable chair today, LOL!! The rules are quite fair. Regular guns are capped at 400 fps max. This is quite lenient when considering that other places are capped at 350 fps. Although, I am mainly a gamer and rarely an airsofter, I would come here again whenever I have the time. read more

Book a private group session for son's 16th birthday, and opted for a 2hr airsoft session for 10 people. Once our whole party had arrived and the necessary waivers were signed. Our whole party was taken to the back lounge area and given the entire run down of the 60,000 sq ft facility. And the most important thing emphasized was safety, and if there was an issue with that we could be taken off the course. The whole course was awesome, and during our 2 hr session we were able to play 5 different 20 minute games. The 1st was a 5 v 4 game since we had 9 players, and then the remaining games were mission oriented to include; bomb control, and bomb placement. The CQB City course provided and array of building, vehicles, and obstacles to hid around. And all of our participants had an awesome time. I'd just keep in mind you'll definitely get hot running around, so make sure your water or something to keep your hydrated. And wear the proper clothing, so long sleeves and pants, gloves to protect your hands from pellets. And either bring your own airsoft weapons or extra protection over your clothing. Or you can use the rental options provided by CQB. My girlfriend and her friend didn't get a chance to play this time, as she wanted to get food and drinks for when we were all done. So we'll definitely be back for an adult only game. Overall: Great course, great games, safety was a priority for staff, staff was very professional. Will definitely ve back! read more

We went yesterday (Sunday 4/12) as well as a previous Saturday and one other Sunday. Both Sundays were with Paul as lead, and we had a great experience! (I don't remember the Saturdays lead, but he was excellent as well! Clean cut, marine) We're a family of 5 with two of the kids being 10 & almost 13 and they had a blast. Staff is really friendly with the kids making sure everything is okay and people are treating them nicely. All the referees are on top of it, (not just sitting around on their phones) always doing something and making sure people are having a great time & fair! We also previously came for a private party for our son's 18th birthday, and you can rent guns/ammo/masks and they are good quality stuff! We now all have our own things so we don't have to rent them anymore. They also offer pizza/drinks for a small fee for a break too which we took advantage of yesterday! My son and his friends had a wonderful birthday party at CQB City. For $450 we were able to have exclusive use of the arena for two hours and all guns, ammo, and masks were included free. That feels like a steal. The experience was great: the arena is set up with tons of cover, rooms, vehicles, drums, etc. and the experience feels very real. The guns are powerful and you certainly feel it when you get hit, but the pain isn't horrible. I do recommend wearing a hoodie sweatshirt, long pants, and gloves. They provide the mask, but you can also bring your own gear. They go through how to use the weapon, safety training, and what to do if there's a problem before you go in. They also organize games like capture the flag, etc. My group of preteen boys had an amazing time and I am looking forward to coming back. read more

Best airsoft experience I've had yet! Really friendly staff. Easy to get tickets. It took 5 min to get all the paperwork done. Two of my friends got rentals and the guns were good-quality weapons with tracers and midcaps. The arena was incredible. It was easy to know where you were, and it was a pretty good size, and a really safe structure. The rules are easy to understand. I recommend this place 1000%. Never knew this was here until I recently attended my nephews 13th birthday party. What a fun way to spend a birthday? They had a separate room for anyone having a birthday party so you can have cake and gifts, we did that back at home but still a nice touch. Everyone was very helpful and thorough. They briefed us on the rules and instructions. Staff was funny as well, except when they decided that us adults needed to be shot since apparently we were ganging up on all the kids lol. It was all in good fun. The place is completely indoors which was great because it was raining that day. The place is huge and has so many hiding places and fun settings. Now I remember why I didn't like airsoft. Too many cheaters/ dishonest players. I hit a few people and nobody owned to it. I'll stick to paintball from now on. At least you can see the splatter and the ref can see it too. Much fewer cheaters. I won't blame the referee because they can't see where the bb lands. Some use full auto ignoring the rules. Rentals are hit or miss. I stopped on the 3rd game as my rental is not accurate and wouldn't fire at times. Staffs are nice. Decent place. I much prefer outdoors. read more

Unfortunately as I get further and further into airsoft I get less impressed with CQB City. Using only .25g BBs and using FPS instead of Joules is pretty old fashioned at this point in airsoft. You get a .4j bonus just for using an AEG instead of HPA. I Don't know who told these guys that HPA hits harder somehow, but a .25g BB traveling at 400 fps is 1.8 joules, whether the cylinder was filled with an air tank or an air compressor inside your blaster. It's a bummer, because the staff is good and the arena is fun. But failure to adapt and weird rules have pushed me to other fields. read more

Fun place for a birthday party for older kids, teens or adults, or a mix like we had. We booked a two hour 10 year old birthday party, and it took almost 45 min for the guy to go over all the rules and details. Have everyone get there a half hour early so you can have your full time for the games. You will get shot with pellets and everyone had little pellet shot wounds. I suggest gloves as many were on the hands. We brought donuts and water and Gatorade zero for everyone and that worked great. The biggest complaint is the bathroom situation. There are only a couple of poorly maintained, really awful porta potties outside. No place to wash hands, so bring sanitizer and baby wipes, especially if you bring cake or food. Otherwise everyone had a really fun time. The adults had as much fun as the kids. For those not wanting to participate there are tables to hang out. There are a couple viewing windows, but not really where they are shooting. They really need cameras and big screen TVs for the non gaming area. read more

Chief is a great businessman and understands/listens to his customers. Much has changed since my last review. The re spawn entry points have been reconfigured to allow protected entry. Very nice! While there isn't a dedicated spectator perch, from time to time, non players with proper eye protection, have been allowed to view from the center watch tower. Doors to various buildings have been reconstructed to withstand the rough handling they receive. As far as splinters...well, that is just par for the course. The guns jam a lot, the shoulder pads are mostly broken and the masks have no foam left on them so they dig into your face/head. I remember my dad taking me here more than a decade ago. I was maybe 12 years old. My gun malfunctioned and the owner Joey wanted me to pay for it. He accused me to misusing the gun and causing it to brake. I remember one of the adult staff telling me--12 years old at the time--that I had a "piss-poor attitude." What the literal ____..?!? There was absolutely nothing written on their website nor on the phone message when we called to check hours. Their attitude was like they could not possibly care any less nor did they offer any kind of apology or offer to come back and make it worth our while. This field could be great except the staff don't care. They chrono with whatever weight you have in your gun Aka someone could chrono with .36 and be under 400 but will shoot 450+ with .20 and the field didn't check. Once on the field the teams aren't balanced they split the room by where your sitting to make teams. The refs wonder the field and don't do anything as numerous times I saw refs sitting in a spawn joking around with players and when you try to bring up issues with players cheating which was happening blatantly and constantly they do nothing. My partner pointed out a cheater in front of the ref and the ref shrugged and turned around. Lastly when off the field the staff announced that "they don't want to hear you calling out cheaters. If they hear it your kicked off the field". So they rather let the cheats enjoy them self than everyone else read more

I was a good customer there but not anymore. My husband and I go there and did A one year plan with them. I was bless with being pregnant and had a doctors note saying I can't do air soft any more. So I talked to the man that runs it (Chief) and he said it wasn't his fault that I got pregnant and that he would not take me off the plan. I asked him when my plan was up and he said he would call me back and months later still no call. I found out that they was a man that lost his arm and they wouldn't take him off the plan. another horrible story was about a man that was in the army had to go to a different state for the army and they didn't help out an American soldier either. They are a place that care about no one. They also pay all their employees under the table and call them volunteers. So they don't have to pay taxes on employees. I also hurt my hand bad there when I first starting going there and had to go to the hospital and get a brace for two weeks. They didn't even have me fill out any paper work that I could get hurt there. I have a scar on my hand from there that will most likely never go away. (Don't ask for a first aid kit because they don't have one) I should just sue them, but I don't think they will change if I do sue them. read more

Edit//: October 2013 - 5th time back since my first review below and they made some great changes to accommodate and pursue a professional and unique-to-their-style of customer service. Upon entering you have a work area for airsoft guns that are being repaired. On the left a pro shop to buy all the goodies to play like green gas, bb's (.25g max indoor weight limit at CQB city), tactical gear, and GUNS! While you get distracted looking at everything follow the see thru, glass cabinets of merchandise to the registration/cash registers. Get signed up fast because it gets crowded! Lunch is $5 and comes with a soda/water and 2 slices of pizza. The staging area is seen directly to the right after registering. Pick a nice sturdy table or workbench and that's going to be your spot until 4pm. BRING A CHAIR WITH YOU. Seating is limited so haul a little more weight and rest your feet after every game by sitting. A warrior requires rest so he or she is focused on the game. Bring water and snacks. CQB City is unique in their gameplay. From the very start you are shoved into close quarters with your team in an armored infantry vehicle (use your imagination) and deployed into a hostile city to rescue and extract VIPs, disarm the nuke, fight zombies, or eliminate. Expect high intensity gameplay at all times. Expect to get shot a lot! Even the regulars aren't perfect. Over the last few weeks CQB city turned their whole look around to accommodate a better space for families and "operators" (the players) to have fun, be comfortable, and even experience real life scenarios that our soldiers go thru everyday. It brings an understanding to the community on how difficult it can be to fight in close combat. Good job CQB City! The staff is friendly. Read my review below, but it's getting better every time I go there. As a regular player I want to point out the the referees need to be more active in actual refereeing. Helping call players out that were shot or not calling their hits. The owner, Chief, deems the grounds an honorable player zone, and it sucks to see him disrespected when there are a lot of people that cheat by not calling their hits every game. At other fields I've played at they are more aggressive and active in keeping the game fair letting people know to not break rules, cheat, and overall respect the rules. I hope this gets fixed soon because last time I played, I left at the end of the day mad, and as a business enthusiast; I hate to see that kind of thing be the reason why I wouldn't want to play here. Earning the 5th star in my review is close but it's not worthy of it yet! Poor display if work ethic man. Their hours are 845 to 1600. First game starts at 1000. Registration is 845 to 945 and if you are late you wait until after the briefing at 945. Briefing is professional as you sit sides with your team or line up and listen to the Chief brief you on safety. Power outlets are provided. Tables, chairs, and workbenches are provided. I'd recommend a lawn chair if you are a germ-a-phobe. Field gameplay. Intense and not for the faint of heart. Expect loud grenade like explosions, some painful hits, and real life situations involving room clearing, firefights, simulated scenarios, and tactics. Full face protection is highly recommended. Being that it is close quarters getting shot in the face by a hi-power airsoft gun will break skin and make you look either badass or ugly. Play for fun and play fair. Call your hits and get out. Some players like to cheat so it takes a little more than 1 hit to make them get out. Ref said saw the hits and said to go full auto to punish him. Some righteous justice was served, 180 rounds later. Follow the veterans of the field. They'll lead you to victory. Cover them when you can and they will pave the way to the objective. If you sit around expect to get blown up by a simulation grenade from the opposing team. Overall a 4/5 for cleanliness, owner appreciation by the Chief, and fast game transitions. -1 star for lazy staff at Check-In As stated above. Move those who aren't doing anything and don't look the part to the couch to watch television and stay out of the way instead of wasting mine and another customer's time. read more

This place is phenomenal. Perfect for airsofting and training a like. Perfect activity for someone to do from all ages, Would recommend asking the staff members their recommendations for buying equipment. If someone were to play the sport often, it is definitely worth the investment of getting your own weapon and gear. Start off with a rifle first and then to a pistol. Gloves are the first piece of clothing that I recommend. Next would be a vest that can carry extra magazines for your rifle. if you schedule a private party like I did 9am to 11pm. show up 30 minutes before your party actually starts for the orientation and passes out the equipment for everyone and then actually have 2 hours of game time! The best worker there is "Comrade" he is great with kids and teens, He is really funny. but Stern, serious, and teaches great values to kids about weapon discipline. He watches over everyone well and makes sure everyone is safe. if someone is breaking any rules, he is fair and explains to them what they did wrong and teaches them not to make mistakes again instead of yelling at them, great man. I have 2 complaints. One would be the bathrooms, which I know can't really be helped being a warehouse. Another thing is that there is a big issue with some of the rental equipment. It feels like it really needs an update to better quality gear. I saw a lot of kids come back with something wrong with the weapon. Parts are missing, it doesn't function as it should, and often miss feeds. The staff is rude and obnoxious, and treats the customers as a burden on their social life. CQB City is a massive 60,000 sq. ft. indoor Airsoft arena located in the outskirts of Stockton, CA. It's run by Joey "Chief" Rubio who is ex-Army with a big smile. He runs a good operation and deals with BS pretty efficiently. For those of you that don't know, there's a lot of BS that goes along with Airsoft games, like little kids who don't play by the rules...sometimes even big kids. Luckily, I don't fall into the kid category. More like the soon-to-be mid-life crisis category. All in all, it's a good time to be had by all ages. I even saw a Vietnam vet there who told me that running was not an option for him...like, it wasn't possible. I highly recommend CQB City especially for Airsoft virgins because of the following: a) indoors null of sun, wind, dust (any of these can hinder your experience if you're not equipped to deal with any of these) b) it puts you right into the action so you don't have to wait to shoot somebody. Most likely, you'll have already been shot at by the time you step foot into the arena. c) the games are always dynamic, meaning Chief always has a different scenario each game. Also, he continue to improve the venue by adding more obstacles and changing the ones that are already there around Chief has a good number of experienced referees who monitor the games closely, although sometimes I wonder where they are; I think this is improving. For the most part, my run in with cheaters and hooligans has been pretty limited and when I do encounter it, either directly or by witness, it is handled quickly and efficiently. Gamepod, an Airsoft retailer in the area, is present at every game and sells guns, BB's, gas, gear, and other related accessories. They also sell guns and gear so you don't need to own anything to play here. This is a huge plus for those wanting to come try it out without committing hundreds of dollars to the hobby. I highly recommend fellow Yelpers to try this out instead of paintball. Also, at the end of the day, Chief holds a raffle courtesy of Gamepod, for the chance to win Airsoft prizes. I would say the winnings are pretty generous! My only gripe about the place is that the main lobby, if you can call it that, is not very cozy if you want to bring guests. In my case, my girlfriend. She would never be comfortable here. There is also no bathroom with running water, just a port-o-pottie. That won't fly with the lady. I think Chief should make the other side of the warehouse into a shopping mall! He does have the lunch thing covered. For $5, you get yourself a hamburger, chips, and drink, though, I recommend you bring your own food and drinks. The property is massive so you don't need to worry about parking. In fact, this would be a great place to bring your RV or trailer...that might be the only way to convince the girlfriend to come along with me. read more

Oh man. I remember when CQB City was a decent place to play, way back when the China clone guns hadn't unlocked airsoft for everyone and his mom, and all the immature COD kids had never heard of the sport. Teams I looked up to would roll to CQB City in numbers, and regularly... Games were MilSim oriented and about AIRSOFT. I didn't mind shelling out the $30ish for a fun event. Now it's just little kids and no-life adults looking to play a real-life version of COD, attitudes included. The fact that the field plays the soundtrack from the game only serves to encourage the children to be as 1337 as they can be... and it has happened at EVERY single game I went to in 2010. It was kinda funny at first but now it's just annoying. I think one of the major factors contributing to the "OMG CQB CITY IS SO 1337" attitude is the fact that they film their games and, yes, you get your chance to show Youtube just how good you are at sliding across the floor and generally making a fool of yourself. The camera guy is a great dude and does great work, but I think the prospect of getting face time in one of his videos inspires players to new heights of idiocy. The field layout has pretty much remained the same since 2007. Don't believe the claim that they make "changes", it usually means that they stack a few more pallets somewhere in the field. The games they run have also pretty much been the same since 2007 ... deathmatch, domination, bomb, etc. Mix, rinse and repeat. It might just be me but I think it's stupid to repeatedly pay $30 for the same thing every weekend or so. I will admit, CQB City is GREAT for private games if you can afford it. I would also recommend going just for the opportunity to teamkill the people on your team; it's one of the most rewarding experiences possible in life. If you can somehow play for free, that's great too. Other than that definitely NOT worth the admission of $30 and the trip from anywhere outside of the Central Valley area, unless you wanna show the world how awesome your team is on Youtube. Sad thing is, this overpriced, small, enclosed BB-fest is one of the few viable fields in Northern California. CQB City has pushed me away from airsoft, but then again, I'm one guy; the loss of my $30 is nothing compared to the droves of kids who mindlessly throw down their money every weekend. read more
