From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and hyped us up for the challenge. The room itself was cleverly designed, with puzzles that made us think, work together, and argue (lovingly) about whose fault it was when we got stuck. The clues were challenging but fair, and the props and environment made us feel like we were in an actual prison trying to break out. We loved the variety of puzzles, and the staff gave just enough hints to keep us moving without spoiling the fun. We didn't escape in time, but we had so many laughs along the way that it didn't even matter. Everyone from the adults to the kids had a role in solving something, and it was awesome to see everyone working together. The games are the right length for the 1-hour duration, the puzzles are sufficiently complex, and the rooms are very well designed with high-quality props. The staff are all very friendly and attentive to the games, checking in at an appropriate frequency. My favorites in order were (1) Medusa, (2) Three Kingdoms, (3) Back to Childhood*, and (4) Frankenstein, though all of them are worth doing. You can ask for a discount code on future games after you complete your first one. *Back to Childhood was different from the rest, definitely on the easier side but more focused on the fun theme and nostalgia elements.

Our game was the pirate themed Depths of Osiris (check out the preview vids on YouTube), and it was perfect for a team of an adult and two ten year olds. My boys had no trouble getting used to the VR gear they had to wear for the experience (a headset and two hand controllers - it was their first time). We had to cooperate to solve each room's puzzle to unlock a new room. Eventually, we got to the final scenario which was exciting and really required us to collaborate. The puzzles were well constructed and mostly understandable from a logic perspective. The graphics and sound were pretty decent (it's not super-high res like Cyberpunk) and matched the gameplay perfectly. We got some timely tips from the game master too, and cleared the puzzle with about a minute left on our 45 minute timer. The facilities are super clean and well maintained. They also have snacks and drinks which are nice to make the visit special for younger kids. My sons want to come back, and I do too. I also heard they are adding a physical escape room, so definitely something to look forward to.

The room was AMAZING if you are a fan of Borderlands, but still really fun as a regular escape room if you aren't (2 people in our group didn't really play Borderlands, but still had a wonderful time!). NO SPOILERS, don't worry! The puzzle was considered a 6/10 on the difficulty scale, but we just wanted to have a good time with friends, so that was perfect! We had 4 adults, but I think kids would really like this room too! It starts out a little dark, so using your phone flashlight is DEFINITELY allowed, but the puzzles were so fun, and there were hints everywhere to find, exactly like an escape room should be! I really like the TV screens that offer hints, let you know when you're close, or tell you when you're super off-base. I also like that they let you choose if you want that. My husband and I did the Last Stop room for a date night and it was such a fun way to mix things up from dinner and movie. Then my kids became obsessed with escape rooms, so we did the Fair Game with 5 adults + 2 kids. We asked for unlimited clues and were able to escape with some help on the tougher puzzles.

One of the most engaging and interesting Escape Rooms I've ever done. Although you might find cheaper Escape Rooms out there, Off the Couch Games offers a more unique experience that I think definitely gives you plenty of entertainment for your dollar. I eagerly await Chapters 4 and on. Only room for improvement I can really say is signage. If you miss the banner and front door on your way into the parking lot, you may get confused, especially at night.

Additionally, they mentioned that we'd receive a discount off our total based on how quickly we finished, which was extra encouragement for us to get through the game. You immediately get immersed into the game before even walking into the actual room and once you're in Occam's Apartment, it feels even more real. The room itself is well decorated, with nice details scattered around the apartment. I loved every minute of the escape room experience and felt challenged throughout the time we were there. We did ask for hints throughout our time there and the answers were often given through directional questions. What I liked most about the Off the Couch set up is that the escape rooms are all a continuation of a storyline, so it makes you feel invested in the experience. I'm looking forward to the next escape room!

Here's a tip: bring a diverse group of people for a mix of strengths, arrive early, and split up into smaller teams to cover more ground. We had ages from 11 - 70 years old. The challenge was real--we needed quite a few clues--but thanks to great teamwork and asking for help when we needed it, we managed to escape!!!
