A sign outdoors advertises the flavor of the day and a monthly menu of each flavor of the day is available online, if you want to plan ahead for your visit. If you've not been to this Milwaukee icon, it's a must-stop; the custard is really, really good. The retail store is set up like a 50s type diner, and there are plenty of folks ready to take your order. There is no seating indoors, just a few tables for standing-only to munch and chat. However, there is outdoor seating like a mini amphitheater on cement steps, and when the weather is nice, it is not unusual to see large groups of customers sitting outside eating ice cream or other treats or burgers. Which was incredibly inconsiderate and wrong. Before the mom left, she told her kid (the worker) that she has 15 mins left and should be working. After the mom left the worker continued to not help any one. Thank goodness for the manager (lady in the red shirt) she actually saw what happened and took over the line. It was our first night of our family vacation and I love coming to Wisconsin because of the people and the customers service but I guess that doesn't count for this restaurant. The cheese was nice and melty and gooey too. For what I spent for the burger and fries I would pay that amount at Kopp's but that would include a shake, but because I don't spend that kind of coin for a cheeseburger meal like that it's okay.
