The truffles I bought were chai tea milk, experimint milk (ganache with peppermint extract), and peppermint hot chocolate. The chai tea and experimint milk truffles both tasted like they should based on their descriptions, but I wouldn't wantto buy either again. The peppermint hot chocolate had some crushed peppermint on top, but other than the chocolate being in the shape of a mug, nothing about it reminded me of hot chocolate. Ultimately I don't think any of them were worth the price. The ice cream was lackluster. Both of my kids got cookies and cream in a cake cone and thought it was skimpy on the cookies part. My wife and I sprung for waffle cones with ours and were both disappointed in the excessive cone to ice cream ratio that heavily favored the cone. She got plain chocolate and it was fine. I, however, got banana-rama and ended up throwing it out because it tasted more like butter pecan than anything banana related. I even went back inside and verified with the employee that it wasn't mislabeled in the case.

Not only do they have the candy shop staples of handmade fudge, caramel apples and other chocolate sweets, but they also serve ice cream, shakes (my personal favorite is their caramel apple pie shake) and have a whole separate room full of bulk loose, bagged and prepackaged candies, including many throwbacks from your childhood. Seriously, there's something for everyone here! Service is always fantastic. No matter how busy it gets, you're never made to feel rushed as a customer. Staff is patient, warm & welcoming and will remember you if you're a regular. As amazing as this shop is, the owner is equally as wonderful. She is very pleasant, personable, and happy to chat with her customers. She goes above and beyond to make sure you leave her shop feeling valued and appreciated. Truly a gem for the community! I knew that Chocolate Factory was in the area as well, but wanted something that was a little less of a chain. Staff was friendly, though flavors were a bit limited. They did offer samples, which was helpful in making a selection. The ice cream was good, but not particularly memorable. I can't even recall what flavor I had. Price was also a bit high for what I actually received. Next time I am in the area, I probably would try Chocolate Factory for nostalgia's sake as I haven't had it since they left the Prospect Mall forever ago! You could certainly do worse than Creamy Pig, but I suspect you could also do better.

WI Campfire S'mores: Cedar Crest Ice Cream is a premium ice cream company that has been located in…read moreCedarburg, WI since 1976. They offer around 80 flavors of their delicious ice cream and their claim to fame is that they invented the now widespread "tracks" in ice cream. WI Campfire S'mores is an ambitious ice cream flavor comprised of graham flavored ice cream with crushed peanut butter cups and a marshmallow swirl. The marshmallow swirl is a little tough to see visually because its white color blends in with the light brown/tan color of the ice cream base. Trust me, it's there though. Separating a spoonful of the swirl out, it does have a texture that differs from the ice cream as it is more aligned to marshmallow fluff. Although the graham and marshmallow flavors tend to get somewhat lost in each other, the peanut butter really comes through when you get a piece of it. The problem is the peanut butter cups are few and far between. Imagine eating an actual s'more that's only graham crackers and a marshmallow. The chocolate (or in this case peanut butter cups) is needed to complete the experience. Cedar Crest is not the only company to do this, but the picture on the package egregiously exaggerates the amount of peanut butter cups. As good as this ice cream is, I think Ben & Jerry's (B&J's) does it better with their PB S'more pint. I'll leave it up to you, but for me this is a Doughboy approved if I have it pre-2024 when B&J's introduced the PB S'more flavor, but after already being exposed, it's just okay *Addendum: The bottom quarter of the container had significantly more peanut butter cups, so more of an equal distribution issue than quantity problem My favorite Cedar Crest Flavors: 1. Caramel Brownie Moose Tracks: For those of you unfamiliar with "Moose Tracks", it is a flavor of…read moreice cream that consists of a combination of vanilla ice cream, peanut butter cups and fudge. Delicious, but being a lover of both brownies and caramel I was even more pumped to try this spin-off flavor. The vanilla is replaced by caramel flavored ice cream and the peanut butter cups are swapped with chewy brownie bits. I absolutely loved the caramel ice cream, and the addition of the chocolate fudge and Denali caramel made it utterly addicting. The fudge is so thick that when frozen it is almost like strips of chocolate. Although the tiny brownie bits are delicious, they're somewhat sparse. Getting a combination bite of brownie, caramel, and fudge is heavenly/orgasmic (whatever floats your boat).
