Crêperie des Arts celebrated it's 50th anniversary in 2023 and we've been making it an essential stop in our visits to Paris since we first discovered the place in the Latin Quarter in 2004.
You can get crepes all over Paris. This is one of the few dine-in spots that specializes in just them in a unique atmosphere with Roman busts staring at you as you eat and, if you're lucky, a cat might come by and sit with you.
Savory and sweet crepe options abound so it's good for whatever your palate desires. We had one of each for a late dinner. We started with the Paysanne, which came with raclette cheese, fresh spinach, potatoes, and ham instead of egg (we're vegetarians.) It's made with buckwheat flour and was a perfect savory dinner dish for us.
For dessert we shared the Mont Blanc with chestnut cream and bananas. Also delicious and made with regular flour so it was a nice companion to the buckwheat flour savory crepe we started with.
We were also excited that the place still existed as it had been a handful of years since we'd been in Paris and one internet listing suggested that the place might be closed. Not true! Wide open as it was been since 1973.
Our server was about the sweetest boy we've ever met. Took our order, brought our food, and checked in with us, always with the biggest smile.
We love it here, and hope to come back, when we're in Paris, many times over their second 50 years. read more
