Our gutters were leaking a steady stream of drips, turning the ground by our house soggy. Chris came out and deduced that the problem was water spilling over our fine-mesh gutter guards. CR came out this summer and installed a new set of gutter guards while also cleaning the gutters and downspouts. Chris personally supervised the project, which he brought in slightly under budget. Now that the rainy season is here I can say that it worked! Still a tiny amount of dripping, but not nearly as much as before. I recommend them. read more

I am writing this review just after the epic rainfall we had in late December 2022/January 2023... the atmospheric rivers, the blast cyclone... the relentless heavy rain. In summer of 2022 Chris's company replaced all our gutters and downspouts. We were having new siding & windows installed, eaves repaired and repainted. Our existing gutters looked old and tired. We contacted Chris and one other 5-star company. Chris got back to us quickly and came out for a bid soon after. The other company never responded. We explored options from repainting the existing gutters and replacing the downspouts with something modern to replacing everything. Chris showed us gutter & downspout designs and we wound up replacing everything. While we did not have a competitive bid, his prices seemed fair. More so, we felt very confident with him and his services. We had siding and painting work that had to be completed prior to his work. Due to delays in the siding part of the renovation, we had to push Chris's install date more than once and he was always very accommodating. When it all came together his crew (long time guys, which is always good) were great. They milled the gutters on site and installation went quick. They tied into some underground drains or, where we had none, did really nice custom outlets. Everything looks great and crisp. And, as initially mentioned, I am writing this review after the massive rains. Aside from how good the gutters look, they worked flawlessly! read more

What I love about Chris and his team is that they don't try to bs you. They won't sell anything to you that you just won't need. That shows me integrity and these days that's something very valuable. The installers were courteous and were amazing to work with. We had a 2 month old that was sensitive to noise, especially during nap times, and the installers were able to work quickly and quietly. Pricing is a bit on the higher end but you do get what you pay for. Gutters aren't something that you do often, so why skimp out and get the cheap stuff? Do it once, do it right. read more

We hired CR gutters to install new gutters and a rain chain on our Oakland Hills home. Chris and his team were fabulous. He worked with us to figure out what would work for our home based on the timing of future renovation plans, and experimented with a rain chain until it was exactly what we wanted. After installation, the gutters looked excellent and actually made our home look nicer. This company is 100% honest and trustworthy! Chris responded to my emailed request for an estimate to replace my gutters. I received estimates from 7 companies and theirs was the 3rd cheapest. I selected CR Gutters to do the replacement. When Chris came to my home for a free visual inspection he informed me that my gutters were in perfect condition and did not need to be replaced. Responsive and honest guy! Chris responded to our email and promptly came out to give us a quote for replacing our downspouts. I also have to add our home is super old and has multiple issues with the roof, but we were thinking of spacing out the repairs because...well, money. Instead of jumping right in and taking on the job, he upfront told us there's not much he could do since the gutter style on our roof is so outdated. He advised that our money would be better put into replacing the whole roof since it'd also take care of the gutters and downspouts at once. This has been a great experience. When a gutter fails in the middle of an El Niño rainy season, you're not in a good position to shop around. Luckily, we found Chris. He was extremely prompt, friendly, and very communicative in responding to our need for emergency service. His inspection of the problem area was very thorough. But he did not push a higher priced, full house replacement job like some of his competitors did. After seeing the details of the house and hearing we had plans to paint in a few years, Chris suggested we go with a partial replacement instead. Fast forward a couple of weeks and the work was done. He was really prompt in scheduling the work, was able to give us an exact match of the profile on the rest of the house. In one morning, the new gutter was up, primed and ready for painting. We're rating CR Gutters three stars because the gutters look good and Chris' team made all the connections/downspouts in the discussed locations. His team works fast, and if that's of the utmost importance to you, you should go with CR. In our case, they appeared to have worked too fast. Three sections of our gutters drain away from their downspouts, with water running the opposite direction to gather/remain at the far ends of gutters. After asking why these were not installed with customary fall towards downspouts, Chris cited that contract reads "CR Gutters may be limited by...slope of roof edge that does not allow gutter to be pitched" and explained "the downspout being at the low spot is not as important as people might think. Often, it is actually beneficial to have the spout at a higher spot than the spout." There's nothing unusual about the slope of our roof. We're left simply hoping Chris is correct, but certainly disappointed that he couldn't see himself to respond to our request that he take a look for himself. read more
