Had a little procedure done durning COVID. One part of the procedure was not done to satisfaction. Dr. Crabtree agreed and wanted to fix it. He said we'd schedule a revision. He said Vicky would call me to schedule. It never happened. In between all of this I was diagnosed with cancer and was busy with treatment. My treatment was complete and things were looking good so I decided to follow up. I decided to call in which I was informed that he has retired. I asked what am I supposed to do and poor Vicky who was dealing with my furious self had nothing to offer. I felt for her. She said the other/new doctor can do it for a fee. I paid lots and was not about to pay lots again. Not only that, my cancer treatment bills were still being paid. When I worked with Dr. Crabtree he was such a kind person. I did not think he'd do this. I reached out to him multiple ways. This Yelp review is my last straw. I mean I'm not loaded in which I can just let something that costs a few grand just slide. I've cried over this matter. It's been quite the ordeal. Emotionally it is taking a toll to look at the part that wasn't done to satisfaction. All that money. So so much. Im ashamed even to write this review. I sent this to him via Instagram as there is no other way to contact him. "Dr Crabtree i am reaching out because I have unfinished business. You agreed to fix my ______ and since then have "retired". Please advise me on next steps as I am not able to pay another surgeon for another procedure." He's a very nice man and I feel he did the best he could do with my large sagging breast It's 80 % better now but he wants to do surgery again as they need more work however not sure I can handle another surgery as it was pretty painful to me and took me over a month to start to feel somewhat normal With less pain :( I'm glad I didn't know how painful the recovery was or I would not have done it A lot less weight on my shoulders and back now And I just love having normal size breasts again Clothing fits me now like it should Still on the fence about redoing surgery His staff is very nice and professional Thank you Dr. read more

Dr.Crabtree did a truly wonderful job and walked me through every step, making sure I was always comfortable and in the know. He is very professional and considerate. He helped me get my ftm surgery covered by insurance, and made the scariest event in my life as painless as possible. A week after the procedure, and I'm already well on my way to having my mobility back, and a quality of life that I would never have had without Dr.Crabtree. Even with my larger body size, my chest is both flat and proportionate to my body. The lipo he performed on my sides to get rid of breast tissue totally transformed my body in a way that I didn't even know was possible, and has helped me feel very body-positive and motivated to get in better shape. I feel very fortunate to have had such a great experience in my own town. The hospital staff at Castle was also extremely wonderful, and comforted me before the procedure very well. Without the support and kindness of this practice, I would be far worse off. I would highly recommend anyone, even from off-island, to get your gender reconstructing surgery done by Crabtree. I only had a few relatively short visits with him, which made it quick and painless to prepare pre-op, and to check in post-op. If you're looking for lip augmentation, look no further! Dr. Crabtree not only makes you feel comfortable but gives you honest straight advice. He recommended Juvederm Ultra for me (the last place I went to only recommended Restylane products after knowing they Metabolized quickly for me, huge waist of time and money) He understood and instead of giving me the run around, got me going with exactly what I needed right off the bat. I'm relatively young at 26, so most people would think excess and sagging skin would be a nonissue, but with being morbidly obese nearly all my life and going from over 400 pounds to under 200, it was a huge problem that was stopping me from living a normal life. I knew I would want multiple surgeries to work on different parts of my body, and I thought it would be best to find one surgeon I really felt comfortable with and confident in that I could stick with. I consulted with quite a few plastic surgeons on the island, but ultimately I had my first surgery, a fleur-de-lis panniculectomy, with Dr. Crabtree. It's an understatement for me to say that I am incredibly pleased with what Dr. Crabtree has done for me and that I would love to continue with him as my surgeon for future procedures. I'm 3 months post-op and we just started talking about my next surgery, which I am very excited for. I could write about how great Dr. Crabtree is for days. Dr. Crabtree's bedside manner really is amazing and comforting. He is so personable and empathetic - he truly gives off the impression that he wants to help you, which I did not get with the other plastic surgeons I consulted. Some gave a businessman type of vibe, and others just seemed to be doing their job without much passion. And most importantly, Dr. Crabtree has the knowledge and experience to be able to help you. The first plastic surgeon I consulted, who is really highly-rated here, didn't feel comfortable doing my panniculectomy and said that he had only ever worked on one similar case and thought my hanging skin around the abdominal area was one of the most severe cases that would be worked on in Hawaii. He gave me the names of a couple plastic surgeons he thought I should contact, and raved about Dr. Crabtree. When I did have my consultation with Dr. Crabtree, I expected him to have reservations about working on me, as a few other plastic surgeons did. I was so surprised when he didn't seem phased at all, and was completely confident and knew exactly what he could do for me and what would give me the best results. He was so right in his judgments. I found his cost very fair, as well. His office accepts insurance which I find generous, and they will fight for you to get procedures covered if insurance covers it and it's reasonable for you. Dr. Crabtree and his staff make it well-known that they are available and there for you, and really care for your well-being. He offered no more help or assistance. --Said it was scar tissue from 6 yrs ago from liposuction. --Said could have more surgery on sides of stomach for additional money. I saw Dr. Crabtree to explant (remove) my saline implants and a total capsulectomy. I had them done a long time ago by a different PS. I had some complications and it was time to get them removed. Dr. Crabtree was very professional and I immediately felt comfortable and safe with him doing the procedure. He explained everything in detail as to what the surgery procedure entailed. The surgery was done at Castle surgery center where I was taken great care of. Dr. Crabtree did an awesome job, my healing was great and I am totally happy with the outcome. From the moment I called to make my appointment, the girl who took my call answered my questions and concerns. When I went to the office, I sat down to answer the patient questionnaire and before I could really start, they called me in (so fast!!). Dr. Crabtree's staff was great and then when the doctor came in, he answered all of my questions so when they asked if I wanted to book the procedure, I was like yes and booked it ASAP. The day of the surgery, Dr. Crabtree came to see me and again assured me about everything and again in the operating room. He has a great bedside manner (Windward Surgery Center is great too 5 stars). After the surgery when I was at home, I got a call and I was so surprised that it was Dr. Crabtree calling to see how I was doing! Never before have I ever received a call from a surgeon after a procedure. That just amazed me. My case was absolutely unusual, I suffered a SEVERE complication from a decade old breast augmentation that left my left breast disfigured and INFECTED. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Crabtree!! When I arrived, I waited less than 5 minutes before I was called back to the room, I waited maybe 2 minutes for Dr. Crabtree to come in. I went for a consultation to discuss a revision. I got my implants in July by a surgeon in NC, and it wasn't a great experience. I'm 3 months post op and already need a revision. Not to mention, my original Dr. spent 10 minutes with me during the consultation and I had to plan all the details with his nurses. This was not the case at Dr Crabtree's office. His nurse came in and asked some background questions, she was very kind and helpful, then Dr Crabtree came in when she was finished. He explained everything to me in detail, he even has a huge tablet/computer screen mounted to the wall, he used that draw a couple of diagrams. He spent an hour talking to me and I never once felt rushed. He pays really close attention to everything that's being discussed and then gives several options for achieving the desired look. I went in today for a consultation about breast reduction. His staff was amazing from the front door until I left. They were kind and compassionate and didn't make me feel too rushed. I felt weird later that he didn't spend more time observing my breast but I'm rather large so I guess my need for surgery is plain to see...still I read other places (just now lol) that they check for signs of breast cancer. ..? I had been talking for years about doing something about my drooping eyelids. I was tired of looking tired but was terrified of looking 'done'. I have experienced top-notch results from Dr. Crabtree for other non-surgical procedures so I trusted him completely. His decades of experience and 'natural' aesthetic made him the only choice for me. My eye-lid (upper 'bleph') surgery was seriously less painful than a dentist appointment and way more comfortable.
