This was really a time warp for me. I haven't been in a shopping mall in years but I worked in a couple of malls (Valley View in Roanoke for the now-defunct Miller & Rhoads and Fox River Mall in Appleton at Dayton's-now Macy's). So when my friend wanted to go here while we were visiting Raleigh, I said sure. The second I walked in it was like I was back in 1989. Sure, there are some different stores but the perfume counter in the department store still makes my eyes burn and there is still a Dippin Dots place and a place that sells nuts. It really does seem like malls are not impacted by the external space time continuum. In any event, this mall was clean. It felt fairly safe. The best thing was that they had numerous seating areas for men to fall asleep. I hope that doesn't sound sexist but in the three areas I saw (one with chairs and two with couches) they were all populated with men and at least two guys were snoozing in each location. We're talking head back, mouth open, snoring! But you know, that's a great way to get a dude to come to the mall with their sweetheart, just give them a place to sit. Put up some big screen tv's and sell beer and you'd probably have trouble getting rid of them, plus you could make a little money. There are lots of dining options adjacent to the mall so if you want to eat or shop, this is probably a good location. read more

The Mall itself is nice but security is bad.I was in my car trying to figure out where to eat. I work close to the mall.They said I had to move.Another time I went I had to catch the bus to the Emergency room. I was sick about for 3 days.What I am saying They are not there when you need them. This is not a nice mall whatsoever. I mean, if you're one of these locals who never leaves North Carolina, you probably also think Raleigh has an impressive skyline too. The stores inside this poorly-planned mall aren't that inspiring or memorable. Let's not even get started on how ugly the surrounding area is and how traffic planning seems to have come directly from Bangladesh. Triangle Town Center or Southpoint should have replaced this aging and horrendous mall, but it seems the people of Raleigh prefer ugliness. There's a reason Sak's and Nordstrom didn't choose this mall... It would be an embarrassment to their reputation. This is an embarrassment to Raleigh, especially since its denizens ultimately try to talk it up as such a great place. If you want an actual shopping experience, Tyson's to the northeast, Lenox Square to the southwest and Aventura to the southeast. One local once told me, "Oh you need to go to Crabtree Mall. The selection of stores here are decent but I love south point way better because it's larger, better selection of stores, better food options, and has a better scenery and overall the SMELL OF CRABTREE PARKING DECK. This mall is a bit too crowded and congested for my liking. However, I also visited on a weekend during a rainy day, which could explain this. However, it has all the necessary shops( Macy's, Bealls, H&M, Forever 21, etc). I frequent the Southpoint mall more because I appreciate the ample parking and indoor and outdoor parts of the mall. It would be hard for me to switch to Crabtree unless I needed some basic necessities or to go to the apple store! read more

Went in today to Speak to a manager about a defective pair of Oakleys I received. Ivan was awesome throughout the process, and went out of his way to make sure I was made whole! As a pretty cynical person myself, moments where people go out of their way to do a good thing are becoming few and far between. Let's face it, malls are dying. This one has even lost a Sears and several other shops over the years. It's still the granddaddy of malls in Raleigh (Streets at Southpoint in Durham is probably more popular). They have a decent food court and some good specialty stores -- it all depends on what you're shopping for. I read recently that the landlord is going to develop part of this property to be mixed use and have a large skyscraper with offices and condos. I guess that's what you've got to do to survive nowadays but that might make daytime parking and traffic worse. We'll see. read more

This mall is a lot better than the one in Jacksonville. It's bigger it has more store options and easy to spend a day in with touring all the stores. The only bad thing I have about our experience is a lot of the customers to walk around smell like weed. That really question whether it was a good environment for my kids to be walking around then. read more

Ended up not eating in food court in favor of a larger sit down restaurant but will definitely try food court next time. Beware - parking here is a mess! (Yes, I promise I really am a female, and no, I don't have a fever or life-threatening illness.) Crabtree has a nice variety of stores, the mall is very clean, there are a handful of good restaurants (not the Food Court), and Best Buy is nearby. But I do most all of my shopping online unless I'm really in a time-crunch. I am very much in love with lounging on my sofa in my pjs, sipping on my coffee, click-click-clicking my favorite websites on my laptop, and the UPS guy showing up at my door a couple days later. I'm not one of those chicks who likes to walk the mall. When I DO go to the mall, I have a short mental list of what I need, get it, and get out. Crabtree is better than either Cary Towne Center or Triangle Town Center. read more

This is a great mall with tons of shopping. I always make it a point to stop here when I am in Raleigh because I love their selection of stores--everything from H&M, Lane Bryant, Soma, Belk, White House Black Market, Loft, Forever 21, and so much more is there. So, if you are on a budget or want to splurge a little bit, there is something available for you!! There are alsi some great restaurants there--such as PF Changs and Cheesecake Factory; so if you build up an appetite while shopping Crabtree has you covered!! The only negative I have is the parking. Coming off of Creedmoor into the mall it is a little hectic as there is not a lot of space to move your car around. There are no four way stops and tons of blind spots, so you are constantly hoping that no one is coming down the isle as you ar crossing it. I almost got into a couple of accidents leaving the mall, so just be careful and happy shopping!! read more

I only spent an hour here, but I was impressed with this large retail shopping mall. Not an outlet or a strip mall, but there are a few anchor stores hat are not connected to the main mall. The mall itself is quite clean and has lots of full-price retail shops as well as the usual anchor stores you would expect to find in such a place. On Thanksgiving weekend, the place was quite full and they had some traffic control going on to help move the flow of cars out of the mall and limit the backed up traffic especially where people would have crossed the flow and caused stoppages. Nicely organized! Lots of signs to point you to the mall from the highway, which I found useful for a visitor to the area like myself. A very huge parking deck and I did see security patrols. I immediatley fell in love with this mall. It has great restaurants, Flaming's Steakhouse, McCormick and Schmicks, PF Chang's, Panera Bread and the Cheasecake Factory. Also it has great stores, including Belk which has a huge selection of Polo Ralph Lauren. They have two departments of Polo! One on each end of the store. I found here a lot of items to take home with me. The parking lot looks very busy but there are enough spaces. There is also a lower level parking. I had a really good time and I am glad I stoped by. read more

There is one reason I come to this mall often... -the toddler toy lot in front of Sears When I need my toddler to let loose and release some of that crazy kid energy - this is where we hang out. She gets to have fun and I don't have to spend a dime. Perfect spot if you want to catch up with a girlfriend and have an impromptu play date. There are coin operated machines but what's awesome about having a 15 month old is that she doesn't get that I'm NOT actually putting money into any of the games. ::insert evil laugh::. If you venture past the coin operated games, you'll find a sweet hang out spot. This is where they have padded floors (kudos to whoever thought of this) and two small structures kids could climb under and up on. There are benches also set up for us parents to sit on. When she was younger, it was great that there was plenty of room for me to tuck away our travel system stroller close to me while she played. When it comes to the actual shopping, I prefer other malls like Triangle Town Center and SouthPoint but Crabtree Valley Malls tot lot is #1. On days when the weather is beautiful we enjoy the outside and when it's too hot, too cold, or just raining - we'll take a trip to Crabtree and play in the tot lot. read more

Unfortunately the mall can only get a 3 because it is another victim or of the virus... I was glad to see that there were a number of signs at the stores about social distancing, I will say that because the sigs all appeared the same the mall may have provided them. But it was a nice reminder as you are walking in. Thankfully I went during off hours, because one day when walking thru to get to a restaurant I noticed the MASS amounts of people and was extremely discouraged! I also noticed that many of the stores didn't have any hours posted which was a pain. The mall hours are extremely limited I noticed but that didn't stop the people from coming out. There were time I passed and the mall was packed. All in all there was a good selection of stores and the restaurants surrounding the mall complimented them well. I would go back, during the week, during work hours and after the pandemic of course!! read more

Apparently I'm really a fan, after going here three times in one Saturday. :D It has a lot of the stores I regularly shop at, so I'm pleased. However, getting in & out is not fun. Because of so many shops & eateries, this mall is really popular. Traffic on Glenwood is a total nightmare whether you're trying to get into the mall or out, so be mindful of that if time is an issue. The food choices are unique, it reminds me of South Park Mall in Charlotte, where some more upscale restaurants are included in the mall. read more

It's a hybrid indoor-outdoor mall, with plenty of stores and an interesting layout. That said, the traffic is monstrous and you'll lose your mind trying to come and go. But if you make it in, go to the Popalops candy store and get a giant gummy bear. It'll save your sanity. read more

I really enjoy this mall. It has a lot of awesome stores ranging from your chain stores to small businesses. The food court has a lot of options from pizza, to salads, to Japanese, burgers, etc so everyone can be happy. There is even a CINNABON ;) it is a 2 level mall and 2 level parking. Although the parking situation can be weird and difficult to find a spot, I recommend going during the week or on a weekend morning to beat the crowd. I've been on Saturday night and it was to popping for my taste. Great place to shop on this side of Raleigh! read more

I like Crabtree Valley Mall. They have just about every store that I like with an exception of some local boutiques that I enjoy. The mall is always really clean. I have used the bathroom a few times and they are always up to par. I always can find parking in the deck (I park in the same spot every time). But parking can be tricky when it's peak time and the traffic reflects that. They have a lot of places to choose from for eating which I feel helps with the mall's business. I've communicated with the help desk there before and they always really nice + helpful. The downside about calling the mall is that they aren't able to transfer you to a store when you call. Of all the area malls, I have to say while this one may not be the top of the top, it's great to go to. Awesome variety of stores here, my fav being the one that represents the forbidden fruit. Where else can I go but Hakky's for getting a suit from Macy's fitted in just around an hour with out paying up the nose? Variety of restaurants is terrific, from quickie artery hardening to high end dressy dining. I spend a good deal of time at Triangle Town Center, and I have to say I like the all around variety at Crabtree better. Better than Triangle TC, Cary TC and Northgate. Easier access than North Hills and just way more convenient than Southpoint (for now). read more

This is one of the few malls in Raleigh. There are dozens of stores in the mall where you can buy some of everything you want. Many people also come early in the morning for the mall walkers club. There are several parking decks so you don't have to walk too far. read more

Very nice mall! It had been ages since I've been to an actual indoor mall. We traveled from Richmond, VA mainly for the Lego store for my daughter. We went on a Sunday. The mall was very clean, including the restrooms, and lots of choices of shops and eateries. We got there before the mall opened so parking was easy, when we drove by on a Saturday night that was a different story. One last thing is it felt comfortable. Security was visible and there were no large crowds. Would definitely make the travel here again. read more

The ultimate and best mall in Raleigh, NC. It's filled with great stores on every floor. The mall is also really clean and organize. There's always plenty of parking for everyone. I would recommend parking in the back of the mall. The front facing Glenwood Ave. is usually packed and very busy. I would avoid the parking spaces by the front entrance. There are plenty of shops to choose from along with a variety of restaurants. The weekends are busy, especially during major holidays. If you come on the weekdays, it's steady but not crazy busy. read more

Seasons 52 is the newest addition, and one of my favs! Fleming's, Cheesecake Factory and Kanki are some of the others Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but they do have some covered parking as well as valet. One favor people, leave your guns at home. While on a work trip my coworker and I decided to stop by this mall! It was HUGE and very well cared for. Everything was clean and it was full of stores that we enjoyed. So many malls right now have empty shops and have started to look rundown, this was exactly the opposite. I don't think a single store was empty and everything looked so new. I've been shopping at Crabtree ever since I can remember. It's not like it's the greatest mall ever, but it has a lot of memories for me. Now I live about an hour away, but I still come to Raleigh quite a bit. There are several really good restaurants that we keep going back to (Brio, Seasons 52, Kanki). And although Belk's has gone downhill since they were bought out a few years ago, I still like the Crabtree location better than the smaller satellite stores near me. My biggest compaint, and it's probably most people's, and has been for years, is the parking and traffic flow. If you get into the wrong lane, depending on where you're at in the parking lot, you could be screwed, and have to sit forever before being able to move. read more
