Decor on the lattice wall near fireplace (very! dusty)

Was given gift cards so thought we'd give them another try. Food was ok but not amazing. It makes me sad because they used to be a go to for us for so many years. Their quality has dropped so much. Portion size, seasoning, style. It's all changed. I got the Friday fish special which was 4 pieces of cod and 2 sides. I chose a side salad (pretty sure it's no longer homemade ranch) and dumplings. The fish pieces were so tiny and thin I just stared for a bit. Very crunchy fry, but not much to the fish portion, and for $16, I expected better. My sister chose the shepherds pie pot roast and it was fantastic! If we go back for dinner, that will be a go for me. Seasoned well, good sized portion, meat was tender. Now on to the location itself. They haven't changed the decor much and I am 100%ok with that. Love that about Cracker Barrel. It's the way it should be, but I was also sat next to the lattice wall and the amount of dust next to my face was a bit disturbing. Tried to get a picture but it was hard to really show it properly . The waitress was really good, at first. After she took our order she just kind of forgot about us. I never got a refill on my tea and was sucking ice by the end of my meal. It was obvious it was empty the several times she walked by but she never offered to refill it. Yes, I should have flagged her down, but by this point, I just wanted to go. Overall, some good points some bad. Definitely room for improving. Oh and when I went to pay I put what I want for a tip (15%- due to service issue) and it asked not 1 or 2 times if I was sure that was all I wanted to leave but 4 times. Yes 4 times it asked if I was sure I didn't want to add more to the tip.

Whenever we're in the South, we like to go to Cracker Barrel for the country home-cooked style food. Because we went near closing time, there wasn't enough chicken & dumplings for us to order. I had the lemon pepper grilled rainbow trout, which had an adequate amount of lemon zing but was a bit dry for my liking. The strawberry lemonade was a hit across the board for our table. The wait staff were nice as they scrambled to serve us and close out the other tables. The lesson of the day was to go at least an hour before closing.

Service and server was great. She told us how to get the free app, and was very sweet. But the food came out undercooked... we also had to wait quite some time for the food to come out. Best thing we ate was the hasbrown app. Steak was ordered was medium rare, but it came out quite rare even on the outside of the steak. The peach cobbler also came out looking quite different from the photos. It was basically just syrup, a small scoop of vanilla ice cream, and canned peaches....

Visited on a Sunday at 9:30a so needless to say it was busy. There was A pretty lengthy wait to be seated and once we ordered there was an add'l 30-40 min wait. Despite that it was worth it. Customer service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. And it's always fun to browse the country store while you wait.

Food was ok. Service was mediocre at next. Cracker Barrel as a whole isn't as good as it used to be.

Everything I ate was delish! We started off with the goat cheese crostinis, I honestly could've just eaten that and been satisfied. We also got the steak for 2, I about died at how good it was, like butter. We also added a little more carbs on the side and got the roast potatoes - it was like I've never had potatoes before - gone in an instance. To finish it off we got the biscoff cheesecake... no words left me speechless 20/10 Def on the pricey side, but everything I ate was worth every dollar spent

The entrance is a bit hidden, as you'll need to walk up a set of stairs to reach the entrance. When you arrive you'll check in with the host before being seated. While there were a few open tables, we were seated tightly in between two groups despite the restaurant being partially full, which definitely took away from the experience. The environment is one of the restaurant's highlights. It is housed in a beautiful restored church. For drinks I ordered the Blood Orange Buck (bourbon, spiced maple, blood orange cider, mint, citrus) which was a well balanced and a fun take on an old fashioned. To start we shared the Burrata (grilled flatbread, green goddess, roasted garlic). While the flavors were good, the portion was surprisingly small and felt underwhelming for the price. For my entree, I ordered a pasta carbonara dish which had good flavor but again the portion size was small like the appetizer. Overall, the quality of food and presentation were strong, and the setting is worth seeing (would lean more towards drinks). However, between the small portions and the seating arrangement, the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. While I'm glad I tried it, I don't see myself returning.

This is seriously the spot you go when you care more about what's on your plate than the fancy…read moreschmancy stuff. AMBIANCE Simple and unpretentious with a lot of (you guessed it) fishing-related and coastal decor. There's a dining patio of sorts when you first enter with a fan and more lighting, but you can walk in further for more air-conditioned seating. We walked in one evening craving a no-frills solid seafood spot and we found it here. You walk in and there's a huge menu billboard and order at the counter, pay, and you get a buzzer and can find a table anywhere! SERVICE Efficient and straightforward...we ordered and within 10 minutes our buzzer rang and we picked up our food on a tray and brought it back. FOOD This is where it delivers! The seafood tastes fresh, seasoned well, and cooked without being overcomplicated. We ordered the grilled plate with rainbow trout that was served with beans, rice, and grilled zucchini and squash vegetables. Loved the grill marks and thought it was very simple, balanced, and cooked just right. We also tried the fried catfish fillet and shrimp with fries and hushpuppies, which came out hot and crispy without feeling greasy or overbreaded. Tasted great with the tartar sauce. We felt the portions were solid for the price and everything feels consistent. We'd heard great things about the key lime pie on here... and it absolutely lived up to it. The slice was generous for the price, and the flavor of the key lime pie filling delivered. It was bright, creamy, and just the right amount of tangy without being too much sweetness. And the crust? Exactly how it should be. You know the kind that crumbles apart...or turns into a rock-hard dense layer you fight through with your fork? Not this one! This one held together but still gave easily with each bite, so you actually get that perfect balance of filling and graham crust every time. I didn't expect to say this but goodness this is the $7.95 pie that gets it right....and if I could buy it as a birthday cake, I would! Definitely would come back to try any of the other seafood plates on the menu *and* more key lime pie! :)
