Well, they really do know their way around a biscuit. Big, light, golden brown. Delish. Great potatoes. Excellent gravy. My partner's breakfast sausage breakfast sandwich was kind of flawless, to include some nice juicy sausage. Service was great. The waitress was friendly, was happy to share observations and recommendations, and was attentive without being intrusive. The place was spotless, bright, not loud, but not stuffy either, so we were immediately comfortable. Those were the highlights. Topping the lowlights was a cup of coffee that was out and out sour, and kind of chemical tasting. It was so bad I asked my partner to taste it, who said "that's not right." It was so bad that I asked for an entirely new cup (I've never done anything like that before), and it was nearly just as bad. I've had diner coffee so old it tasted like it'd been in an iron smelter...and didn't flinch. This was bad. The waitress said that they get their coffee directly from the local roaster, Onyx. Well, all I can say is that forewarned is forearmed. Beyond that, my over medium eggs were really over easy, which wasn't a big deal for me, but would have put my partner off their meal entirely. It's easy and forgivable though. But, capping it all off was the fact that for a meal of 2 eggs, biscuits and gravy, and another meal of a breakfast sandwich, a latte, and a terrible coffee (I can't get over it), plus tip, we were set back $45. That's not inconsiderable, So, breakfast was good, but for that kind of money for biscuits and eggs, you're entitled to expect perfection. I'll probably go back and give them another chance. I liked what I had, which is why they get a solid C. Maybe next time my sense of value will be a little better though. read more

The original location is fantastic! The only challenge is parking as the dedicated parking lot is very tiny. We found ourselves parking down the street and walking, but it's so worth it! The original location is also a little bit smaller than their new location, but decorated similarly in a modern café style. Same menu as their I street location, only today we tried a couple of different things, including their beignets (quick tip here: ask for the sauce to be served separately from the beignets and we asked for a second sauce so we could compare the raspberry and the lemon curd - both house made, both amazing!) The biscuits, of course, are second to none, and I tried their grits, which was a nice alternative to potatoes. Our server was sweet, the place is hopping, the food is happening. Popular spot in Arkansas for brunch/lunch. It's easy to see why. THe ambience is bright and airy. The service was friendly, quick and efficient. The biscuits were quite good. I enjoyed the goat tail, which was basically an egg white scramble with goat cheese. The cinnamon roll that we split was so-so. A bit too goopy for my taste. I wish there were some vegan options but that can probably be said for every place I visit down here. They offered to bring me something else so I opted for GF biscuits and gravy thinking that would be quick. It was another 15 minutes and all it consisted of was 1 biscuit and a bowl of gravy.
