Not a memorable experience. I can hardly remember what I ate there . My daughter ordered Ruben sandwich that came with no sauerkraut. We had to ask for it . I will say it's a very cute place with natural charm. The service is also great, very nice ladies sat us and took our order. The food is just very average. The avocado tasted like it was a day from going bad but the rest was okay. They also forgot the sauerkraut on the reuben sandwich which was odd haha. Talk about a dollar value for a ton of food! Had the pleasure of breakfast last Friday. Our server, Ms. Tina, was on point and fantastic. I had the hamburger patty with eggs, O'Brien potatoes, and a biscuit and gravy. My wife had the veggie omelette with the O'Brien potatoes, as well as a biscuit and gravy. We love Susan's! It's a classic for a reason. It's got a great country atmosphere. They're busy and have good service. I almost always get either the chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken breakfast. My husband usually gets a BLT. The coffee is good and always full. read more

This was like a step back in time. The space is cozy with comfortable wooden chairs. It's popular, so there's a short wait. They're friendly, but efficient, so they expect you to get in and get out once you're finished. I had the huevos rancheros special and my husband had the chicken and waffles. They were both delicious. I wasn't a fan of the coffee. My only issue was towards the end of our meal, a worker was walking up to the front from the bathroom blowing her nose. Oh how I love this place! In the fall and winter I try to come often for the turkey & dressing. It's offered twice a week, Tuesdays and Sundays and is just delicious. Would not recommend racist hostess. When I asked her if we can be seated somewhere else. She slamed the menu's on the table. As if we had done something wrong while we were still paying for our meal we didnt even get. I walked on the other side of the restaurant to see if there was a reason for her to sit us in a 6 chair table. When it was just 2 of us and there was more 0laces to sit . This restaurant is a favorite breakfast spot of our friends who live in the area, so they took us while we were in town. I wasn't overly impressed with the interior of the restaurant, but only because there was nothing special about it. Very low key spot, which was nice though. I agree with many of the other raters here. This place has some of the best breakfast of anywhere in the area. Just a good traditional American breakfast place. My family and I have been many times and they have never disappointed. The kitchen is efficient and the staff is friendly. Stopped in for a traditional diner breakfast on our way out of town. The menu was varied enough to accommodate a variety of interests. I had a bacon, egg and grit breakfast which was embellished with an homemade biscuit and gravy. My wife had a half of an avocado toast with egg. We visited 10/16/24 at around 9a and while it was crowded, we were able to get right in and waited on shortly after. The menu is huge with lots of breakfast choices. I got the Pig Sooie Skillet which is my type of breakfast as it has all the meats, potatoes, cheese, peppers, onions, and I added eggs to make it even better. It was delicious! My family loved their biscuit and gravy as well as the waffle. Overall, this place surly cannot be beat for breakfast. There is no chain or donut shop that can compete. Susan opened restaurant in 1996 serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She was working to many hours so she scaled back to breakfast and lunch. She still works several days a week but her son Lucius now runs things and has the job of keeping momma happy.

The ribs and chicken were both good, with the chicken (oddly) being the most flavorful thing I tried. Sides are overwrought and unbalanced. Back it off a bit, Wright's. The exception is the mac and cheese, which is the opposite and too much like Kraft with added cream. All the sides were meh. I will probably return if I'm nearby and there's no line. They're hot is KC Masterpiece with some likely jalapeño juice and pieces. Potatoes: Hard undercooked, under seasoned potato chunks. Really lousy. Au jus: I tried a side, just see what it was like. Some pre-fab lousy au jus. I love old joints like this. But this place is way past its prime. Hardly worth a trip for lunch; let alone dinner.
