Food was okay. The pot roast was tender, though not my preferred fall apart tender. What drove me crazy was the terrible customer service. The hostess was not available and I waited 15-20 minutes to get a seat and this required making a fuss. Then nobody spoke to me for another 10-15 minutes. Finally, someone took my order, and eventually brought the food. After that, she never checked on me. I had to make a fuss to get my bill and a Togo box . I could see my waitress, who oddly enough appeared to be an assistant manager, though I don't know this for a fact, walking back and forth in the back having a grand time talking with people in back. I started with two stars. I've gone down after reading my own review. It's 6:30 PM, prime dinner time for Cracker Barrel. Parking lot was dead, 11 cars. How many of those cars were employees? I'm going to write this play by play as things happen. Inside, scattered with 3-4 empty tables between customers sit 7 people including me. I've counted about 9 employees. It took 5.5 minutes to be addressed after I got to my table. It took another 3 minutes to come up and ask if I was ready to order. I said I need menu first. It took another 2 minutes to get my menu. Another 3 minutes to come back and take my order after I saw a menu. Let's do the math. Seven customers on the one half of the open side of the restaurant. Nine employees. Thirteen and a half minutes to take my order. They were busy? Empty tables, I count half the closed part of the building, all those tables are empty. On this side of the divider, 16 empty tables, five taken. Picture that. It takes a lot from the dining experience. Kind of like changing the logo back and forth. I suppose this is the fallout of that fiasco. I was even avoiding CB. I hadn't been here in over a year. But this one shares my hotel parking lot and I was hungry. Let's see if their food has gone down hill too. Oops, someone left. We're down to 6 customers. Depressing. Ooh, I got my ice tea now. I ordered half sweet, half unsweet. They got it half right. I've been here over 21 minutes. They're probably pulling the catfish from the lake still. 27 minutes now gone by, I can hear the boat pulling into the kitchen sink. Eureka! 30 minutes gone and my fish has arrived. I can't wait for his next visit. I can ask for a fork, knife and napkin. Because I don't have one. I waited the polite 3 minutes. Now I'm headed to the kitchen. I want to see what warm food tastes like. Well I was handed a singular fork. I think my expectations were too high. I thought I'd get the little packet with silverware. Now I have to get a napkin. 34 minutes and I got my first bite. The mashed potatoes, straight up cold. Carrots warm/cool. Catfish is surprisingly hot. It's only been 7 minutes since I asked for a napkin. I'll just keep wiping my hands on my pants till the delivery comes in. I have to update the customer level. Since I started, half the empty side is now half empty. About ten more people have walked in. That explains my napkins taking 11 minutes to show up. And he even bought me a stack. That makes me think he remembered he forgot. So how do I wrap this up? I've been finished about 7 minutes. That number comes up a lot. Probably training. I'm just waiting for my check amongst this massive half of a half crowd. Let's see how long it takes. Unless he thinks I want seconds because I pushed my plate across from where I'm sitting? Well, 11 minutes after I finished eating he asked me if I wanted anything else. That's a start. Let's see how long this takes. Two minutes!! That's the best time yet. At the end of the day, if I'm honest this meal sucked. Service really sucked. I've officially eaten here my last time. I didn't really want to eat here for the very reasons I regret coming. read more

I love a good meal and that can usually be counted on at Cracker Barrel. However I think they have some kind of shake up with all the commotion they have going on. We ordered tonight for take out on a somewhat special occasion. We got an order but once we got home we realized we only got half of it and most of it was wrong. This was our first time eating Cracker Barrel Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. It was the food :( I never say anything, but this was horrible. The bacon was cooked to a crisp. The biscuits tasted like it was made from play Duh. The grits were like drinking a bottle of water with sand. Every bit of it was so nasty. I seriously could only eat the eggs. I showed our waitress, and she apologized and said it was a Mexican lady that can't even speak English and has probably never cooked grits before. And it's a hit or miss with her. Very loud on Sunday lunch. But food did not disappoint. I had the cream cheese stuffed pancakes covered with fresh cut strawberries and whip cream with bacon and scrambled eggs. Soooo good. The worst service!! Our server was named Alicia. I asked for biscuits and when she finally brought them they did not have butter in the basket. I asked for butter which did not come. I finally saw her and ask where my butter was and she acted clueless. She finally appeared with the butter but the biscuits were cold !! Also , my husband's burger did not have the bacon on it! Use to love going there for the chicken fried steak. It was the best! Last time I went the chicken fried steak tasted like it was pieced together frozen meat that was reheated. It no longer had the crispy fluffy breading it always had. Was very disssppointed. Went to Cotton Patch on McCann and asked if their chicken fried steak had changed. It ended up being as good or better than the chicken fried steak that Cracker Barrel use to serve. My go to place that has not changed the quality of their food is now The Cotton Patch. I genuinely wished I could give negative stars for this Longview Cracker Barrel. Here is the deal, I don't mind a little wait and we were seated in about 6 minutes, which was fine. After bringing our drinks we told our waitress we needed just a few more minutes to decide on what to order. Well, we waited and waited. People that were seated in her area after us orders were taken and she just proceeded to walk right by us. I finally got a floor manager to come to our table and take our order. Then we waited and waited and waited. People seated after us had their orders delivered to their table. My wife finally told me we had been there over 45 minutes. I was about to get up and go to the kitchen area passageway when our food was being brought out. I had ordered 4 pancakes and they were tiny and so cold that the butter wouldn't melt on them. My wife's over medium eggs were very over easy, cold, and her pancakes (which were normal size) were also cold that the butter wouldn't melt. I got the manger's attention again and stated that I hated to complain, but that our food was unacceptable. She offered to redo it, but I just wasn't in the mood to wait any longer. I had just had a medical procedure done that morning and had been on a liquid diet for over 36 hours and I needed some solid food. I told our waitress just bring me our check and I wanted to go get some hot food. She stated "we were good to go" meaning no check. Then we overheard who telling the other workers, "I wasn't sure whose food that was sitting there" meaning our food. I guess because she never took our order. The manager followed us out and profusely apologized and offered to leave us a gold card in the office for us on our next visit for two entrees and drinks. I told her that it bothered me to complain and I didn't want free food. With the prices people have to pay nowadays you want your food timely and hot. First of all, the restaurant was cold. Initial server was nice, but the server that delivered our food was rude and seemed really stressed. We got our food cold and wanted it heated up...pancakes that wouldn't melt the butter, were rubbery, eggs cooked surprisingly well but not even warm and sausage patties that were hockey pucks tiny and cold. The waitress that delivered the food scoffed at our request and called a manager loudly. The manager was great offering to remake our food but again it was received cold. Placed our order at the same time as our drinks pretty quickly after we were seated. 1148..still no food so had to speak to managers about the cause for delay. Our food was apparently sitting in the kitchen. Also had to chase down a coffee server to get more coffee. Service was a mess. Not the first visit and time before this, service was not much better. Lunch to go! It was flawless! I called in a Togo order on a whim and was pleased with both the customer service and quality of food I received. When you call to place an order they connect you directly with the kitchen. Talk about from the horses mouth huh?! The phone call was quick and pleasant. I chose the home style chicken breast and macaroni pasta. The order was ready for pickup just as promised. I had to avoid looking at all the goodies in the store during checkout. Outstanding we loved this afternoon's lunch. We had the lunch specials of Chicken and Dumplings and the Meatloaf special. My wife had the pinto beans and turnip greens. She loved them and they were spot on. I had the Country green beans with Mac and cheese with my meat loaf. Meal was great as you would expect from Cracker Barrel. The most enjoyable part of the meal was our waitress Bridgette. She was fantastic and very professional. Great conversation and wonderful selections to choose from. First time here, we're here on overnight from a cross-counyry trip. Not expecting anything different, as I expect the same at each one, part of the reason to stop here. This one turned out to be different. Our server made the difference. The young lady made our day. We came in from working out on a flightline at the local airport. One of our military jets had an emergency landing and we drove down to repair it. Long hot day, and I mean 105°F plus hot on open asphalt. Ugh! We decided to eat before the hotel instead of refreshing with a shower and change of clothes. So we headed to the Longview Cracker Barrel. Right from her first greeting she was a real joy. We have a wisecracking humor and she chuckled right along with us. She definitely made the whole visit a real pleasure after a crappy day. I wanted to make her day, so I left an extra nice $$$ tip. She found it and came running trying to give it back. No way I was taking it back. Told her she made our whole day so much better, I wanted to do the same for her. She was starting to tear up, gave me a hug thanking me and off we went. In these recent times with young people not wanting to work, and the businesses having to practically beg for applicants to apply. It's really nice to see the folks that do show up and take pride in their job. Today is 22 July 2021, if you find yourself stopping in at this location, ask for JULIANNE. We used to come here on our way back from road trips to Florida and last Saturday was no exception. We stopped in around 6 pm and were told by the hostess on duty that it would be a 20 minute wait which we were okay with. She kept saying that she was new and that even though we would receive a text that she would page us via the overhead speaker when our table was ready. While walking around I heard various people when they were paying their bills complain about how the service was or some other thing that was not right. I heard the cashiers making excuses about it being hard to find good help these days. After hearing that I should have known that we were in for a disaster. After 45 minutes of waiting, I went back over to the desk and the hostess was not there and I saw a lot of empty tables. We ended up leaving after wasting almost an hour. This confirms the fact that Cracker Barrel has gone significantly downhill and maybe this location should just close since they are so awful in customer service. If the service is bad the food is probably equally bad. This used to be a good location but they are too far gone read more

Updated review. We had Cracker Barrel cater my son's wedding back a few months ago. They did a great job. The lady I communicated with was very helpful in figuring things out. The food arrived hot and well packaged with all the extras. They unloaded it all and put it in the warners for us. People really enjoyed the food but we ended up with so much left we had to give some away. read more

The Cracker Barrel's all over the South continue to follow the path of least resistance. If it will pay they will play. You will find coffees that try to compete with coffee franchises, but, still, the only decent cup of coffee is found in the original coffee. If you come to say good bye to the awesome Cracker Barrel with a theme we all loved. It is too late. Belly up to the bar and try to enjoy poor service and worse food. Sadly - my recent visit (I am sitting in the parking lot ) was one of my worst experiences ever. From the moment our party arrived, the staff was very brusque and unwelcoming. When we placed our order we requested plates to share our meals. When the food arrived - we did not receive the plates and was told by the staff that delivered the food that she was just helping by delivering the food - and she didn't know. She didn't get plates and we waited for our server to deliver plates. We asked for biscuits and jam - multiple times as well . They were not delivered and a member of our party went to ask someone in the kitchen for two plates, where staff there said "ok" but did not get them and just returned to working. The manager finally responded as he was standing waiting outside the kitchen. We were brought plates after having the food for well over 10 minutes - the steak was over cooked - we finally received biscuits but assumed they had run out of Jam since multiple requests to get it was met with the response "I will check and see if we have any left." We were given our bills and we asked if they had any jam- where she said she forgot to check. We told her never mind it was too late at this point - and she just walked away. The table behind us had to return their food as it was overcooked and the table beside us had to get up and go get their own sugar for their coffee. I have never been somewhere where I felt so unwelcome, and that the staff was truly bothered to have customers. I can appreciate it being a holiday weekend, however the entire interaction was disappointing. I will say the only saving grace was the young lady who was working the register in the store - who took the time just to talk to us and answer a couple questions as we were checking out . Cracker barrel has never been one of my favorites, but after the catastrophic experience given today, it's safe to say I will not be back. I got there this morning with a party of four, we were told there was a 25 minute wait, and then didn't get a table until an hour and 15 minutes later. The host told us we were next, then continued to sit 3 more families in front of us, blamed the wait on not having a big enough table, then sat a 6 top directly after that statement. Asked for breakfast menus and didn't get but 1, asked for kids menus and had to walk back to the host stand after so long to grab one, 10 minutes passed before we were even greeted, and the server was extremely rude, she came to the table and said "are yall ready" and that was it, it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks, and 30 to get our food, we asked for biscuits before our food and the manager assured us that much, and we didn't get them until the food was brought out, once we finally started eating, the food was absolutely disgusting, it was cold, and flavorless. The eggs specifically were well over cooked, cold and hard, as well as; the bacon, fries, pancakes, and the hash browns. They brought the ticket out and there was 3 items we didn't even get on there. Overall, it was the WORST dining experience, even with the wait times and the bad food, if the staff was welcoming i would've walked out with a smile. read more
