As we made the turn, the Cracker Barrel sign came into view and visions of dumplings and cobbler danced across my mind. We changed our dinner plans to stop by and had a great meal. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I think 1 star is being very generous at best. I ordered a grilled chicken salad and it appears they gave me tarter sauce for the dressing. It's REALLY DISGUSTING. I received my food 20 min before my husband got his. He's been craving their pancakes for over a month so we finally had a chance to go and we're so disappointed. His sausage is way over cooked, eggs were cold and had sat for a while. How do you screw up pancakes? I'm not sure but they weren't good either. We will not be back! Best thing was a found a cute blouse on the store. Our server AJ was not very good. I repeated my order 2x and he still didn't get it correct. I took my family to this location in owasso on Saturday! We live in a small town 45 MIN north of here and wanted a good hot breakfast. Our waitress was great. Always checking on us and making sure we were comfortable and had drinks. However, after 30 min they seated and served 2 other couples while we continued to wait To get our food. We waited an hour before our food finally came. It wasn't even edible And we only ordered pancakes. We couldn't even cut through the pancakes with a knife and all the food was cold. An $80 food bill, that I paid but couldn't eat. This specific location has always been my favorite. The worst part about it all, 3 people came out from the kitchen and starred at me because they could see on my face I was getting mad And not 1 person apologized. Few weeks ago we drove to Owasso to grab a holiday breakfast. Needless to say it was overly packed. But how can one complain about the wait when there is so much nostalgia and kitsch to peruse, along with the friendly staff, in the gift shop? It was the usual Cracker Barrel food except I learned something. I always go round and round with wait staff when ordering eggs. I'd prefer "basted", which no one in fast casual is prepared to do even if they know what it is. I often see others complain about ordering "runny yolk, cooked whites" and being disappointed when the whites aren't cooked. I sure do! No one wants raw eggs. I often just give up and order scrambled. Long story short, as hubby and I explained exactly what we wanted, our lovely waitress started assigning numbers to the eggs. Apparently, they cook the eggs, not some cook in the back that ignores the tickets. The numbers on the cooker determines the doneness of the eggs! Who knew? All I can say is they were perfect. She was awesome-- even heated my syrup for Mama's Breakfast. Hubby had Grandpa's. That's way too much food for two people. The food is what it is. You know what you're going to get and everyone has their favorites. We enjoy the potato casserole. This was our third time here and every time is has been bad. The service is what makes it not worth going, the food is great. Every single time we have been here, we get our food and then we are forgotten for the rest of the meal. No refills, even though it says bottomless. Half of my meal is missing and when I ask for it, because mistakes happen, and you don't bring it for another 15 minutes, that tends to leave a bad impression. And when i went to pay, I had to wait another 15 minutes because so many people were having problems that it was holding up the line. it seems to be a common problem. This location needs to get this figured out because I can only imagine how much money you are possibly losing. I am a patient person, and this location makes me a little less patient. read more

I love it here. Definitely wanted something country and this place was perfect. You enter through their gift shop. Super cute and you can buy their pancakes/biscuit with dumpling/syrup to go and bake it at home. In the dinning area, I ordered Grandpa's special (So freaking good!!!) And Fresh fruit and yogurt parfait. The country fried steak was so juicy and flavorful. The gravy was perfectly thickened and that hash casserole had texture (not mushy). The yogurt parfait hit the spot at the end. A must have is their seasonal Pumpkin Latte. I highly recommend to stop by here. I would definitely come back. read more

My husband and I decided to stop in for an early meal while running errands today. I enjoy coming here and browsing their shop while waiting to be seated. Today, he and I ordered the same meal. I remember how much I enjoyed it before....because they used to be hand-breaded. Today, our steaks were most definitely NOT hand-breaded. They were pre-packaged, frozen steaks I could buy at Sams...disappointing. still, overall, I enjoyed the meal. The mashed potatoes are still hand mashed, the casserole is as good as I remembered, and the gravy was spot on (I'm sure that is made from a powder, but still good.) This is pertaining to all the Cracker Barrel's . I hate what you have been doing to Cracker Barrel the last few days. You are totally changing the only good things left about Cracker Barrel, the decor, the sign and the store. I love the old decor and the old country store. However, We stopped eating at Cracker Barrel about 2 years ago because the quality of the food did a nose dive. One visit, we couldn't have biscuits because the night before shift didn't get them out of the freezer. That explained a lot . The next time we visited Cracker Barrel we were traveling and desperately needed food and coffee. There was no coffee in the store. We went given a reason, We can no longer say the pancakes are the best we have ever eaten because they have become tasteless. OMG, what a miserable experience tonight while the restaurant was sparse with customers our food associate tonight was Allison F. If I could rate our experience it would be an F-. Allison didn't seem to be very interested in serving seniors. She brought us sweet tea with very little ice. When we requested a glass of ice one would have thought this would give her a clue that Texans like a lot of ice in their sweet tea but it seemed not to make any difference as well as how frequently both of our glasses were empty and ignored. When we ordered the 4 veggie plate and I ask if the sweet potato came as part of the 4 veggies, she said yes. We both ordered the four veggie plate at a cost of $9.99 each. We requested that the trimmings for the sweet potato be placed on the side and she said no problem. When the veggie plates arrived the sweet potatoes were on a separate plate topped with nuts, brown sugar, what appeared to be a melted marshmallow and I don't know what else. My partner ate his but I didn't touch mine. Allison never ask if there was a problem as to why I didn't touch the sweet potato. Later Allison brought us the bill and said we could pay up front. I requested a togo box from her, which she said she would bring. What appeared to be a teen girl came into the restaurant and Allison and another staff member went to a table away from us and were having conversations. We waited about 15 minutes with zero to drink in our glasses and no togo box was ever delivered to our table. My partner had to go ask another staff member for a togo box. My partner paid the bill which I didn't see until after we left. We generally tip very well but tonight Allison didn't earn a penny in my mind. Only after I saw the bill at home did I realize that we had been charged an additional $1.99 each for the two sweet potatoes. A small tip of about $5.00 was left for Allison of which in my opinion was totally undeserved. It should be noted there were very few customers in the restaurant during our visit this evening shortly after 7:00pm, so the lack of service was not that there were a lot of customers. We received the worst customer service tonight that we have ever received in this restaurant or any other restaurant. There are many choices for places to eat out in Owasso and customer service such as we received tonight doesn't make us want to return to Cracker Barrel in Owasso, OK anytime soon. read more

Eating at Cracker Barrel has all the appeal of eating in a sawmill, which might actually be quieter than the restaurant. Family chose CB. After an hour I had an addled mind and ringing ears from the noise. Conversation was pretty much impossible without yelling above the din. Typical for Sunday morning CB was busy. We seemed to be the only party for our server in our section of the restaurant. That meant we seldom saw him and had to ask other employees for help. Sure, the Southern style meals are appealing and the prices fair. I can find those at other places, though--along with a more hospitable dining environment. read more

People were so shocked I had never eaten at a Cracker Barrel, so I figured I might as well try it and see what all the fuss was about. Well, I can now say I've eaten at a Cracker Barrel and I really don't feel the need to eat at another one. I ended up getting the chicken tenderloin dinner because nothing else sounded appealing. It was what you'd expect...fried chicken fingers. I got the hashbrown casserole, fried okra, and mac and cheese as sides. Everything was pretty standard. Not horrible, but not amazing. I hate however when going out to eat and they don't bring all our parties food at the same time. Okay, so country kitsch aside, Cracker Barrel is a pretty good place to eat. There's nothing fancy on the menu, as it's geared (obviously) to serve up 'down home cookin' to the masses. I've eaten at Cracker Barrels in probably half a dozen states, and by and large they're one of the more consistent franchises out there. They don't get pretentious, they don't stray from their wheelhouse, and they know how to do what they do exceedingly well. I've had probably half of their breakfast menu at one time or another, and it's all been good. The only issue I could have, and it's nit picking, is I'd really like some good, old fashioned red pepper and sage sausage. The kind my grandpa made every fall come hog killin' time. CB serves some sort of semi smoked sausage thing, that while decent enough, just doesn't belong on a breakfast plate. I come from a long line of hillbillies and country folk, and I've eaten a LOT of country breakfasts in my time, and not once, never, ever was there a smoked sausage for breakfast. So there's that. Other menu items range from stellar chicken and dumplings to rich and hearty roast beef, to fried liver and onions, beans and cornbread and especially fried catfish. I saved that one for last because it's surprisingly some of the better catfish I've had in a franchise operation. I've never had anything that I didn't find satisfying and hitting my expectations, which, as The Wife will attest to, is a rare thing. (Wife speak for 'I'm a picky SOB'). While not a big fan of the marketing gauntlet you have to run to get in and out, that's part of the overall experience, I suppose. In their younger days, the kids used to love playing 'stump the dummy' with me, quizzing me on what all that weird stuff is on the walls and ceiling. It amazed them that I usually knew what something was. Cracker Barrel has and will likely continue to be one of the true 'family oriented' restaurants that dot the American Landscape, and one you can count on to almost always deliver the goods in a solid and dependable, no frills manner. read more

I wish I could give a zero rating. my family eats there once a week for over a year. We didn't noticed till tonight that we have been over charged all this time. My wife is on a strict diet. so, she orders the $1.99 loaded baked potato. When we get our bill, my grandson notices the baked potato is $2.49. I showed the price discrepancy to the manager. He says in very broken English that he doesn't care about the price difference. I owe him the $2.49, not the $1.99 as the menu states. The manager was rude. The employees said this is not the first time he has been rude to customers and apologize over and over. I feel I have been ripped off for over $100.00 dollars by this guy. The manager actually came to speak with us after we paid due to us complaining about the whole evening... and he took care of our dinner. Which was way above the necessary. So, The food was ok, but I know it has been better in the past. I am struggling to give them anything but a two here but the food wasn't horrible but it wasn't as fresh as I was hoping for. So I got the chicken fried chicken and the chicken was good but the breading didn't give me that old home made feel like the store front is trying to portray. Green beans were good but the hash brown casserole was the only thing that saved this plate... after adding some salt and pepper. What makes me very unhappy was we didn't get any cornbread or bread period. Even after telling two people still no bread... and we had to ask about the other half of our food. Kids got pancakes and they ate them up like no other business. The others got the eggs and sausage and they liked it so I'm thinking breakfast may be the better way to go... so hoping the service would be better the next time. Came in to this location today, typical Cracker Barrel. Nice atmosphere, though weird smelling, and good food. The service (our waitress Nena) was great as well, very friendly and helpful. The only thing that was (painfully) slow was the food being brought to our table. After ordering, it probably took 20 minutes to finally get the food, something I'm not accustomed to with Cracker Barrel. I get it, if the place is packed it will take longer, but it wasn't. There were maybe 2/3 of the tables filled, so such a long wait on breakfast makes no sense. When you walk in, it looks like a country store. It is very cluttered. You'll have to walk towards the back of the room to be greeted by the hostess for the restaurant. Our waitress greeted us and got our drinks right away. We ordered the campfire chicken and beef. It came out super fast wrapped up in aluminum foil. The chicken dish is half a chicken and includes carrots, corn, onions, and red potatoes. The chicken is so tender and moist. The beef dish came with all the same vegetables. The beef was so tender you don't even need a knife to cut into it. Both dish were very moist and tender. Our dessert (s'more) was absolutely delicious. It was the perfect size and it was only around $4. This dessert dish would have cost like $8-10 at your Logans or Apple Bees. Highly recommend you getting this. When you are done with your meal, you would have to take the receipt up to the cash register on the other side where the country store is located. Your waitress is not your cashier.
