You'll also find food here at Cracker Barrel, because along with being a restroom, it's also a restaurant! They say you shouldn't shite where you eat, but you can do that easily at Cracker Barrel. They have good to-go coffee, too. And fun candies, like old fashioned peppermint sticks and Bit-O-Honey and Boston Baked Beans -- the kinds of candy that no one thinks about anymore. We stopped in around 8:30 pm to get away from a bad storm. There was only one other couple in the restaurant. The staff was pleasant and the food was good but the highlight was our server Madison. Poor service. Server had no idea what was going on or what was available.. Two out of three of us ordered catfish, 15 minutes later, the server comes back says they don't have any . We re-ordered our food 25 minutes later we got our food. She brought us two biscuits for three people. Did she think it was a table of one ? She initially told us all they had for the biscuits was grape jelly. I went to buy some apple butter from their store but they were out of apple butter so I spent six dollars for some peach butter. We ordered curbside delivery. When we got there we entered our spot number and sat there for 20 minutes for the food ( which should have already been done). Finally has to go in to get the food. Was told by the lady up front that the guy who brings food out for curbside had left for the day so the food was just sitting there. I stopped around six on a Saturday and while I knew they were busy and I might have to wait a bit, I unfortunately had to wait a half hour to get my food. I ordered an appetizer but it came with my meal. If you go, order things that are premade so you get it faster. I had something with smoked bacon and only after waiting 15 min did they mention that takes the longest to make. I will note that it tasted like normal bacon. They might make a note on the menu that it takes a long time or take it off the menu. My friend ordered the loaded baked potato and it was not cooked in the middle. 2 positives, the hush puppies were great and the server we had was as very nice. read more

EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE. AN HOUR AND A HALF FOR FOOD THAT WAS INCORRECT! Steak was cold and over cooked. Salad looked good but couldn't get salad dressing! Was told the kitchen didn't have ANY oil for an oil and vinegar dressing despite 90% of the menu being deep fried. Side item came only after complaining and asking to credit the meal. Apple crisp was ordered as an entree and showed up without APPLES! One of our party member had to leave and asked if he could get it to go instead and was told HALF of his meal was already ready. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:12 and phoned in to say we were there early and in spot #1. The lady who answered said they were bagging it then and would be a few minutes. For more than 10 years every November this would be a central meeting point for our family since we all live in other states. Not any more. Service was poor, but the server did try. One meal arrives and had a hair in the salad. Server took it back and returned with a new salad only to find another different hair. The chicken on the previous salad was just move to the new salad. Validated by the piece of chicken that had I bite out of it was on the new salad. The cornbread that was served was burnt. Server stated it was and would see if there was more(?). After asking three time for the cornbread, we were told they were out. There were no more. Our meal was served without silverware. We had to ask. The soup was served without a spoon and had to ask. The portions were horribly small. The corn and carrots may have been one scoop of a table spoon. Potatoes were about an ice cream scoop. All plates were similar in portions. The host that was seating a couple ladies to the table next to us, had accidentally drop a towel on the floor. He picked it up and proceeded to wipe the ladies table with it. We found the prices were significantly higher. We understand cost have increased on everything. But, if you want to raise your prices, do not reduce portions as well. We did speak to the manager. But, unfortunately, will not be returning based on all of the above. read more

My family and I frequent this Cracker Barrel at least once every two weeks. Growing up, this location never disappointed in providing great food, excellent service, and adequate helpings. However, in the past few years, this location has started to take a turn for the worst. Today was the final straw. My family and I ordered breakfast takeout to enjoy at home, and we we started to unbox our food, we were shocked. What we saw was a $10 speciality breakfast that looked more like a kids meal. There could not have been more than tablespoons of hash brown casserole. To make matters worse, we picked our food up at the appropriate arrival time and it was still ice cold. My wife and I were in this location a few weeks ago, and the experience was a bit disappointing. I love Cracker Barrel, but consistency in quality has certainly become a concern over the last 10 years or so, and I say that as someone who has been a customer since the 1970s. We had breakfast, and let me first of all say that AMBER, our server, was wonderful, punctual, and attentive. YAY! Coffee was good and reliable, breakfast was out to the table expediently. The disappointment came with the biscuits and gravy I ordered. First of all, the meal was lukewarm, not hot. Secondly, the biscuits were terribly undersized, as though, to put it crassly, the were dog biscuits. The big, fluffy, and generous biscuits I have had at other CB locations were just not part of this meal. They weren't necessarily overcooked or hard but they were just diminutive. The gravy was okay but lukewarm certainly detracted from the value. My wife's breakfast was decent enough so I'll refrain from reviewing her plate. I am not deterred from going back to CB, and would probably even visit this location again, but I do think stepping up the game a bit next time is warranted. But to end this review on a positive note, Amber was the bomb. Go Amber!! read more

I ordered lunches to go. We sat outside and waited for 15 minutes and they never brought our food out. We had to go inside to pick up our food. When we got home, they left off one complete lunch. I had to drive back to the store. We were in a hurry so I told them to just refund the lunch that's missing. The lady at the register said she could not give refunds. I said well I have to go. I have people waiting on me and she said well let me get a manager. The manager came out. I explained that I was in a hurry and the lady at the register said you don't give refunds. She said the lady at the register can't give refunds, but I can. The lady at the register should've simply said let me go get a manager. The manager took my receipt and said I'll give you a refund. I'll be back. After another 15 minute wait she never showed up and I explained to the lady at the register that I had to get home I had people waiting on me. The manager called me 5 minutes later and said she just completed my refund and it should show up on my card. Here it is three days later no refund has shown up on my card. I thought it was just bad management skills. Bad customer service skills from the lady at the register.and now they have my money. The whole ordeal took 45 minutes from beginning to end. and they still have my money with no refund. I did file a complaint with the corporate office. read more

Well 45mins later we finally ask a manager where are food is and she goes and checks says it's going to be another 5-10mins. At this point I'm beyond over it and literally about to leave. Our waitress says she would kindly give us a free dessert on her for our trouble. I stated no thanks we just want our food we ordered an hour ago. We finally get our food and my husband and sons orders are correct but mine is not because it has tomato's on it. So I had it sent back and remade another 20mins later I got my food. The negatives of this visit urge me to give two stars. On the whole though, I have to be fair and give three stars. Stopped here mid-morning, so not busy at all. Friendly greeting and immediate seating for our group of six. Clean and acceptable bathrooms. The usual well displayed country junk for sale in the store. Dakotah was a very friendly and fast server. She deserves four stars: all around good service. However the food quality at this Cracker Barrel and many others has become inconsistent. Best items were whole grain pancakes, pecan pancakes, ham, bacon and scrambled eggs (four stars). Everything else was disappointing: doughy biscuits, tasteless gravy, pasty grits, and cold bland hash brown casserole (all one or two stars). Still better than McDonalds but shouldn't CB be better? I think there are four or five star CBs out there but this isn't one of them. When you see the Scottsburg exit, keep driving.
