Pretty good, I like that the hash browns were cooked with peppers and onions, bacon was crispy but felt cheap. We have eaten carryout from Cask before, but this was our first time eating in. We came for burger week, and the southern comfort burger did not disappoint. We also shared a basket of fried pickles and each tried one of the special drinks. The food was excellent. The pickles were sliced small, which makes them easier to enjoy. The sauce that came along was good enough to require a second helping, which was supplied without hesitation. The drinks were absolute stars. We had a blackberry smash, made with Jack Daniels, blackberry, and mint, a Buffalo Trace cream soda, and a gin-based Arnold Palmer that was the highest recommended by the staff. this is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. the fried pickles were super greasy. the devil eggs were average and tasteless. I got the short ribs which were tasteless and fatty. the mashed potatoes were cold. the gm brought me some hotter ones but tasted like oatmeal. the chicken and waffles were cold and the tenders were super small. the cream brulee tasted like something you get in a cafeteria in middle school. the GM "cc" was fantastic and helped out. this was the worst restaurants I've ever been to. they will go out of business. thank God it was free from Xmas gift cards. Great bar restaurant to grab a quick bite to eat and drink. The restaurant is very easy to find with lots of parking. I had the smoked meatloaf with mashed potatoes and a bowl of shrimp chowder. Everything was good but the shrimp chowder was excellent. The atmosphere is casual no need to get all dressed up unless you want to. So they celebrated burger week and so did I. I love their food. I love it's a local place that will participate in the various foodie weeks. They have friendly FOH service and the their entire staff was nice. Lots of people come to this place so have patience. They usually offer some type of music and such so you wont be bored. Enjoyed the food and good service from this restaurant tonight. The bill not so much. Someone brought my order to my car at front of the place. Ordering my food over the phone was smooth and professional. My fried chicken sandwich was good but will hold the sauce they put on top. My greens were good but too salty for me. My wife enjoyed her meatloaf dinner and three sides. She did say her deviled eggs were ok. The $47 bill was a bit pricey was a surprise. I will come again but less often. read more

I have loved this place in the past but our past visit was a complete miss on every front. We were celebrating a birthday so I tried to call and make reservations ahead of time but they told me they don't do reservations for parties less than 6 but we should have no problem getting a table. When we arrived for an early dinner they could only offer us a high top which was not ideal for us because we had a little one with us. We took what we were offered and tried to enjoy our time. Everything we asked about was greeted with "no" we don't do that. Very poor customer service especially when we're celebrating a special occasion. I would say service was downright rude at times. I don't think this is how the hospitality industry should operate. The food was just ok. My shrimp chowder was much too spicy for me and very unexpected for a cream based soup. If I had known it would be like that I would it have ordered because I'm not allowed to have spicy food. Again a server should mention this at time of taking an order. The beet salad was good just a little shy on dressing. The taco special for the week was the best tasting offering I got but unfortunately that's not something they carry all the time. My friends could see their hot sandwiches sitting in window for 10-15 minutes. Love to bring new customers to Cask. This was an unfortunate day. Please don't fuss at me and tell me u saw me coming in the door and hoped you had enough crackers for us. And we know the oysters have to be shucked by hand and that takes a while. And we promise not to ask for more than we will eat of cocktail sauce and horseradish. And a former staff person said to always ask that they dig deep in kettle to get all of ingredients of gumbo. That wasn't received well! And the gumbo came without rice...but was shortly brought to table in a condiment cup. See photo. We had a gift card to Cask and finally had the opportunity to use it a few weeks ago. Cask is located off Hurstbourne Lane on Linn Station Road. There is a large parking lot and the restaurant was brightly lit and welcoming. When we first arrived a hostess immediately welcomed us in. I noticed it's a smaller restaurant, with a large bar in the center and a mix of tables and high tops surrounding the bar. There was a wait for a table but the "chef's table" was immediately available. We were intrigued and asked if we had to order off a special menu to sit there. They assured us it was the regular menu so we went for it. It turns out the chef's table is just counter service by the open kitchen, which was great for us that evening. The menu is quite large and everything looked yummy! We started with the pulled pork nachos ($15), which arrived pretty quickly. The portion size was generous and I was planning to eat mostly for my main meal. The chips tasted house made and the toppings were plentiful. A great and shareable item for the table. They have a small kids menu that has chicken tenders, Mac n cheese and grilled cheese all with fries ($7). My son opted for the chicken tenders. Lots of great southern dishes but my husband ended up with the fried green tomato BLT with fried egg ($14), and I ordered the wedge ($12). My son said it was the best fries he had ever had! The chicken tasted fresh and not frozen. The BTL was runny and amazing, he added the fried okra and greens as his sides. Now the greens were amazing. I would go there just for an order of them. Tender and cooked to perfection! The wedge was good. The portion was small for the price and it had a little too much dressing. All in all it was a delicious and filling meal! Absolutely great place to have a good dinner, with everything is just right! No wonder they have one of the best ratings in 10 miles radius. I had Bourbon Braised Short Rib dish, which comes with mashed potatoes, and that was one of the best short ribs I've ever had, and I order short rib every time it's on the menu. It was recommended as one of their signature options by the bartender. But all other items on the menu look great as well. And the "best ever key lime pie" was super good. Upon entry, we quickly noticed how laid back and casual this place is. It looks more upscale from the exterior. We were greeted with friendly faces and sat quickly. We visited on a Tuesday night when they had a burger, special and during happy hour. I ordered an aeperol spritz which was ok. We started with the fried green tomatoes, which were perfectly breaded. It came with a delicious remoulade sauce. We were very happy with those and devoured them. Next, we ordered our entrées, which were the shrimp and grits and the braised short rib. The braised short rib was incredibly tender and flavorful on a bed of mashed potatoes with crispy fried onions. It was definitely the main event and we shared it. Delicious. The shrimp and grits however, arrived, and we both made a face. Shrimp and grits are my partner's favorite food choice and he's somewhat of a connoisseur. The grits were more coarse and not creamy but the biggest turn off was they were doused in a liquid, you couldn't even see the grits in the bowl. You just saw the orange liquid with shrimp on top . The shrimp were not seasoned or at least didn't seem to be, and it seemed more like a sloppy mess without flavor. that dish was definitely a miss and I highly do not recommend it--- the short rib however, I would go back for. I love Southern food, so I was super excited to try Cask! They did not disappoint! Their patio is dog friendly, so we were able to take our puppy with us. Our server had some great recommendations, and we loved everything that she told us to order! They also have nice interior and bar seating. To drink, we had the Blackberry Smash and the I Can't Taste Alcohol In This. Both were very tasty! We had the Pulled Pork Nachos as an appetizer, and they were probably the best nachos I've ever had! For our meals, we had the Bourbon Braised Short River, the Southern Comfort Burger, and the Cask Burger with Fried Okra and Southern Greens as the sides. Everything was absolutely delicious! Came here Friday night with a large group to kick off a friend's bachelorette. Overall, for me, this place is like a 3-3.5...but I liked the ambiance and the service was great and I wanna be generous since they had to deal with our large party, so I'm rounding up to a 4. I assume the MOH made a reservation for us but I'm not sure; all I know is I found everyone seated when I arrived. The interior is modern, clean, and pretty. There's a large bar in the center of the restaurant and the menu is of a moderate size with plenty of yummy-sounding options. I had a sweet tea to drink, and it was good sweet tea. Refills came promptly. One of the major drawbacks of our experience was alcoholic drinks, however: one person got a drink they liked so little they didn't even drink it, and another person was really displeased with their martini. I didn't hear any complaints about the sangria that the rest of the table drank, but overall the alcohol situation is much less pleasant than the food. Our party of 8 started with fried pickles and fried green tomatoes for appetizers. I didn't eat any of the tomatoes because I knew I was gonna have the fried green tomato BLT as my main, but I did mostly enjoy the fried pickles. They were pretty greasy (a small puddle of grease in the bottom of the bowl) and the breading needed a little more flavor, but they were very crispy, slightly sour, and I loved the very slightly spicy ranch dip that accompanied them. Overall, main dishes seemed to be met with approval. Lots of folks got one of the two types of burgers on the menu; the Cask burger with pimento cheese was especially well-received. I also heard good things about the meatloaf sandwich. One person did complain that their greens were too salty, but as a Californian I have to wonder if she's just not accustomed to how veggies are cooked in the south, lol. I enjoyed my entree. I've had a fried green tomato BLT before and this one compared favorably; there was plenty of nicely cooked bacon, and the toasted bread was especially good. The tomato itself was a bit lack-luster in that, like the pickles, the breading needed a little bit more kick/seasoning and the tomato was a little tough and hard instead of crispy. But overall I'd give the sandwich a 4/5. The fries resemble McDonald's fries but are less greasy and salty. I liked them. A main shining star was the service: our food and drinks came out quickly, they were quick to grab any extra requests we had, and bless them, they made 8 separate checks for each member of our party. I went to Cask for the first time Saturday night and was super dissappointed in my experience. Let me start by saying I am in the service industry and had actually worked as a server all day before going to dinner. They had a 30-40 min wait- no problem on a Saturday night. Restaurants ambiance is really cool and comfortable. We decided to eat at the bar to skip the wait. Jennifer took care of us and was extremely busy working the full bar alone. Took her a bit to get to us- again, totally fine as we could see she was running the bar and taking care of probably 20-25 guests alone. She was friendly at first- we arent a needy bunch. My mother ordered the salmon, she didnt want anything on it. It came out with their sauce, I asked her if we could get a new salmon with nothing on it please- not upset, angry or annoyed in any way. She said OK and abruptly snatched the plate away. Thats when service ended for her, she was clearly angry with the request. She didn't bother to ask how my meal was or my husbands, she didnt bother to ask if we wanted more drinks. She was done with us after that request and that is completely unacceptable. I was missing my meals side- never got it until I was done with my meal. I asked for the check and waited 10 minutes for it as she took care of other guests- as a server, printing the check takes two seconds. She made us wait after the horrible service she provided. I had to ask someone else to close us out- mind you, not even a bartender. I wanted sauce, had to request it from a random server. The lady that closed us out was very friendly and had welcomes us when we arrived, she may be a manager as she also brought the re-make to us (young, black lady wearing bandana). The bus boys were excellent employees as well!! My experience was kind of ruined just based on Jennifer's unfriendliness and unnecessary attitude. As a service worker, please be kinder especially when the guest is not being unkind to you. Also a reminder that tips are based on your work- I brought in more than 20% in cash to tip and Jennifer received the minimum 18%. read more

I had a hankerin' for a margarita and their peach one was absolutely delish! My husband also enjoyed his bourbon cocktail. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were good but a little greasy. I ordered the wild grain bowl with shrimp. The shrimp were so delicious with really good flavor but unfortunately, that was the only thing in the bowl that had much flavor at all. I think I just ordered the wrong thing because my mother-in-law really loved her shrimp and grits and my husband enjoyed his chicken biscuit (monstrous by the way!) Went there on a Saturday morning at approximately 11:30 surprisingly the restaurant was only about half full. Sat ourselves at the bar and had to wait a few minutes for someone to serve us drinks. Unfortunately, the bartender was serving as the bartender and a server in the restaurant as well. Once they got going the service improved and the food was very good brunch style food. The style inside the restaurant was basic some pictures/photos and a few bourbon barrel lids scattered around the walls.. Overall, would go there again for brunch and cocktails read more
