Flavorful, fresh experience every visit and so filling. The orange chicken is fried with a light breading that you can amp up the heat. Service is friendly and dining area clean. Entry into small dining area does require a step up due to the building structure.

Service is amazing. I could not ask for more. Our server was extremely attentive during a time when 5 sets of customers were in here holding it done by herself out front. Check the pics for the vibe. Laid back and perfect time on this hot day in June. We ordered some Thai salad roll. Both my wife and I thought it was impeccable! The sauces were on point especially the peanut sauce. We also order the pad kee mao. At spicy level 3 which I think is perfect for a guy who likes flavorful spice. On point will come back.

Delicious authentic Thai food in the heart of Salem. Ordered take out, and they made sure my tea was freshly brewed. The inside of the restaurant is clean and very much has a vibe. Pad Thai, Tom kha soup, and spring rolls were good! Will be trying them again!

Small Thai restaurant with excellent food. Limited alcohol (beer and wine). Quick service. Will definitely go back.

Probably the best Thai food in town. The service is excellent and the ambiance of the location is well above average.

Visiting town for a couple of days and decided to try My Thai based on Yelp reviews. It did not…read moredisappoint! We were greeted and seated promptly within moments of walking in. Appetizer came out quickly and entrees came out when the appetizer was 3/4 gone. Perfect timing. The edamame appetizer was hot and had plenty of salt, which is exactly how I like it (9.5/10)! I had the crispy chicken with pineapple (served in half of a pineapple) and spouse had the orange chicken. He said his was good (8/10), but I loved the pineapple chicken (9.8/10). He had no leftovers, I left with about half of my entree. We took a mango sticky rice to go and then drove around town for about 45 minutes before going back to the hotel to eat it (for context - I'm sure it's even better eaten in the restaurant). Even with it sitting at room temperature in a styrofoam container for about an hour after preparation, it's still a 9.9/10 for me. The mango sticky rice was a perfect ending to an excellent meal. When in Bloomington again, we will definitely be back. We may visit again before leaving town - it's that good.

My Thai on the westside of Bloomington is not merely a restaurant…read more It is an institution. A temple. A weekly ritual site. A blessed carbohydrate-and-curry sanctuary where my family has been eating once a week for ten years, which in restaurant loyalty years is basically a dynastic blood oath. I have eaten here through different seasons of life, different levels of exhaustion, different versions of myself, and probably several minor existential collapses. And through it all, My Thai has remained the most consistent restaurant I have ever eaten at. Not "pretty consistent." Not "usually good." I mean shockingly, mathematically, almost suspiciously consistent. Like somewhere in the back there is a monk, a wizard, and a very serious Thai grandmother operating a flavor reactor calibrated by NASA. My go-to is the Pad Prik King with chicken, because I am a simple man with a complicated nervous system and a deep spiritual need for spicy green beans. The green beans come in hot and crunchy like they are ready to fight for their honor. The sauce is rich, spicy, savory, and just the right amount of "hello, your face is awake now." The chicken is there doing noble chicken work. Bawk bawk, little warrior. Bawk bawk. This dish does not ask for attention. It seizes it. It kicks open the door wearing sunglasses, throws a handful of basil into the air, and says, "Get in, we're going to flavor town, but the weird respectable Bloomington version." And the best part? It is always good. Always. For ten years. Do you understand how rare that is? I have seen empires rise and fall faster than the quality control at My Thai. The service is friendly, the food is dependable, and the whole place has the comforting energy of, "Yes, the world is strange and unstable, but your Pad Prik King will still arrive correctly." That matters. Five stars. Ten years of loyal service. My Thai westside is one of Bloomington's great constants, and my spicy green bean chicken kingdom remains undefeated. BIG BADA BOOM!

The night I visited, they were very busy, with a large party in the back part; however, they didn't miss a beat, and service was as good as you would hope. Food was so good, I had to order a second dish, so I could take the first one home to the wife! We also found the prices to be reasonable. A high bar has been set. We will try other places, but I won't be surprised if we keep coming back.

I showed up about 50 minutes after ordering and my food was hot and ready on arrival. The host who greeted me and brought out my order was very friendly. While I was waiting for him to get my food from the back, another staff member also came by to check that I was being helped. I ordered the fried eggplant stir-fry with tofu and the coconut ice cream. The stir-fry tasted good, but I selected spice level 3 "hot" (and the takeout container had a "3" written on it so I know they got it), yet there was not a hint of spice in the dish, not even a single chili flake. I don't know if they messed up and forgot to add the spice or what, but I was kind of let down. Taking the heat level out of the equation, it would rate it about average for American Thai food. I wasn't really impressed by the dish, but I enjoyed it (spicy is nice but not a must-have for me if there are other flavours). I liked the coconut ice cream dessert. The included banana spring rolls were helpfully packaged in foil separate from the ice cream, so I warmed them up in my oven a little, and they were very good warm. I'm pretty sure that what the menu calls "homemade coconut ice cream" was actually vanilla bean ice cream with shredded coconut on top. Which is still delicious but not what is written on the menu. Based on my single visit, I don't think this is close to the best Thai in Bloomington, but it's alright, and I might come here again because it's closer to home than the other places I like. I might have even given the food 4 stars if it had just been described differently on the menu, but the lack of spice in a dish that was supposed to be made hot plus the "homemade coconut ice cream" not being that left a little bit of a bad impression.

We ordered carry out from All Thai'd Up, a new restaurant in the former home of Gasthaus. Ordering on Toast was easy, and the food was ready quickly. A friendly employee passed it right to me When I walked in the door. The spot feels cozy and inviting, and I would love to go back and dine in again soon. The food stayed warm throughout the drive back. Everything we tried tasted wonderful - from the mango sticky rice to the pad see ew, and the pad Thai. Portions are a generous size and I ate most of my dinner, leaving about 1/3 of it for another time. This is one spot I'll be adding to my list to hit up again!

I was so impressed I took another friend there the following week to celebrate their birthday. The restaurant is located in the unassuming strip mall of off Brownsboro Rd @ Rudy Lane. Traffic is tricky in this area with the VA construction right now, so I encourage going the back way from Hubbard's Lane to Rudy. Step through the door and you immediately see a cooler filled with impressive desserts - mostly cheesecakes. You also have a lovely bar. Don't sleep on their drink specials during happy hr weekdays from 4 - 6! The decor is lovely and the staff are very friendly. They'll explain that the kitchen doesn't adjust traditionally spicy dishes. The items marked with peppers are hot. Everything else is mild and comes with a caddy of items that you can create your own heat level. What a great idea! On my first visit, I had a satay tofu wrap from their fusion menu (look on the back page) and on my return, I had pad see ew with veggies and tofu (no egg). The satay wrap was a tad messy but very fresh and delicious. The yucca fries that came with it were a bit too salty for my palate but were fried well. I'm a frequent orderer of pad see ew and while the flavor was good, the noodles were a bit on the gummy side. I had a solid mass of noodles which happens to me at home when I overcook or let them sit before serving. I still ate every bite and enjoyed it! I love Thai food and am now a fan of this woman-owned business. I'll definitely be back and have recommended it to friends and colleagues.
