This was easily one of the most unnecessarily frustrating pickup experiences I've ever had. I placed my order online at 7:45 PM and thought I had scheduled it for 8:45 PM, but it defaulted to ASAP. Within minutes, I called the store and politely asked if they could just hold off and make it closer to when I actually planned to arrive. Nope. I was told they couldn't make it later, but they "could keep it warm until I arrived," even though the food was scheduled to be ready at 8:05 PM, a full 40 minutes earlier than when I could arrive. I could maybe understand 10 minutes of being warmed, but not 40. I asked to speak with a manager, hoping for a little flexibility or at least some basic customer service. Instead, I got the exact same robotic response. So I asked to cancel the order with her and advised I would reorder it for the scheduled time of 8:45 PM pickup. I was annoyed at this point, but no big deal--until I noticed I never received a cancellation confirmation or refund email. When I arrived, the manager at the counter (an older gentleman) acted like I had personally ruined his night. He flat-out refused to provide a cancellation or refund receipt, telling me it was my responsibility to ask for one during the phone call. After I tried reasoning with him that this is a normal ask for anyone who doesn't receive goods or services to be provided with some confirmation of their cancellation, he stated he would call the manager who canceled my order over the phone, as she had already left for the evening. While calling the other manager for help, he actually started raising his voice at her while she walked him through the steps to print the receipt. I stood there awkwardly as he loudly complained about how busy he was and how he didn't "have time to do all this," insisting she should handle printing them out in the future. He finally walked off to the back, came out with a printed cancellation and my food, placed it down and said, "Here's your food," like I'd inconvenienced him with my request. To top this off, the food was cold and stiff, making me believe it was truly the first order that had sat there for 40 minutes. Look, I get that food service is stressful, but this manager was so clearly irritated by the simple request to have a refund confirmation, you'd think I asked for a handwritten apology. I was nothing but respectful and just wanted confirmation I wouldn't be billed twice. Whatever was going on behind the scenes should never spill onto the customer. read more

Stopped by thinking hey it's Cracker Barrel. Should be great. Nope. We ordered fried pickles for a starter. 'oops!' That was a mistake. Greasy nasty, ate a few hoping they'd get better. Never did, but got worse. We had the pot roast and chicken fried steak. Both were sub-par. Left roughly half of both. Weren't worth bringing home for the dogs. Server was okay, new guy in training, but wasn't getting any training. When you see a bunch of the meal left and nobody is asking for a to-go box that's your sign. Probably wait a few months before we go back or we might not ever go back. Ambiance was like most Cracker Barrels. Old and tired but predictable. read more

Came here on Saturday night for the fried chicken Saturday/Sunday special. They were out. I had to order a different chicken meal that was similar and asked if they would take the additional 50 cents off to match the price. The manager said she would. We ordered drinks and they brought them with chilled glasses. Nice touch! Brooklyn was not even our server and was so nice and checked on us constantly. For this adventure, it took place on Saturday the 16th, 2024, and involved a trip to Oklahoma City and the surrounding area with my husband and mother in law. On our way back from picking up and dropping off gifts, we decided to stop by Cracker Barrel for lupper. My husband got the hashbrown tots and grilled catfish filet. I got the vegetable plate, and my mother in law got her selection to dine on. I had a cherry spritzer, my husband had a sweet tea, and my mother in law had a rootbeer with her meal. Quinn did a great job on checking in and filling requests of the table. It was one of the most peaceful dining times I have had in a long while. Once I was done eating, and the check arrived, I had the chance to pay the check,pop into the restroom, then do some shopping briefly, where I found a couple of travel mugs and candy sticks(cinnamon & butter rum). Hello it's Saucy, your friendly food reviewer. Stopped in to celebrate a birthday dinner and decided to order the Sweet and Spicy bee sting chicken tenders. First off our waitress named Holly was super friendly and had a lot of patience with our large group. Ok chicken bees out of 10 I'd say a 5.2. You can tell the tenders are frozen. On May 19, we visited Cracker Barrel with a group of 14. This would have required five separate checks. I want to start by saying that our server, Chad, and waitress, Holly, were exceptional. They provided wonderful service, ensuring our drinks were always full and our food was hot and delivered correctly. However, things took a turn when we needed to split the checks. The manager, Rose, brought our check over to us and mentioned to us very nonchalantly like she didn't even even care that that the waiter and waitress didn't want to bring it over because they weren't able to split it up. We politely told her we'd take care of it splitting it at the cashier. After she left our table the waiter came back and apologized and said let me try and fix this. He brought it back and apologized and we told him we have it split up front no worries! But when we went to pay, the cashier informed us that they couldn't split the checks up front and they had to in the back. The manger of the store area took it to the restaurant. The issue dragged on for 30 minutes, and when I went back to the cashier to inquire about the delay, I was met with confusion and frustration. Rose seemed unclear about what was happening and even argued with me when I pointed out that we never agreed to pay as a group. Our servers, Chad and Holly, were trying to help, but Rose was unhelpful. We waited another 15-20 minutes before finally getting our tickets...there were 14 tickets that were rung up and given to us. By this time, we had been there for 3 hours and 1 hour of that was waiting for a ticket. I was frustrated and asked for a discount due to the inconvenience. But Rose seemed uninterested and ignored my request. It wasn't until Nelson, the assistant manager, stepped in that we were able to resolve the issue. He listened to our concerns, apologized for the poor service, and even offered a discount by taking one of our checks off. It was clear that he was trying to make things right. Overall, the food was great, but our experience was terrible due to the poor service and lack of customer etiquette from Manager Rose. She clearly needs retraining on these important aspects of customer service and needs to learn how to use the system of splitting checks. read more

Stopped in on a Tuesday evening for dinner. Quickly greeted and seated and had a wonderful server and unfortunately I forgot to catch his name. He made dinner so fun, full of laughs, excellent service and really helped us enjoy dinner after a stressful day that day. This place is by far the BEST Cracker Barrel in the country!!!! My BF stopped here while stopping for a night on a drive out west. He said it was the best Cracker Barrel he has ever been to. He said that by time his drink came right out within minutes hot food came right out. He was in Cracker Barrel heaven. On our way back across country we were determined to stop at the same location at night so I could try myself. The fireplace was on as it was super cold that week. The service was the best service I've ever had at any Cracker Barrel I've been too. The food came out hot and fresh and out service was so nice and sweet. It felt like coming home to family and having a warm dinner before bed. A must stop for anyone traveling through Shawnee! read more

I tried the new breakfast tacos and they did not disappoint! A pancake with egg, bacon, and shredded cheese. Pour your syrup on top and enjoy. Visited this location with my sister on 7/22/24. We both decided on ordering breakfast even though it was late afternoon. We both like that you can order breakfast anytime of day at Cracker Barrel. I had the Grandma Pancakes which included 2 Buttermilk Pancakes, 2 Eggs, bacon/sausage/ham which you can mix or match & a breakfast side. I ordered the plain hashbrowns because onions disagree with me. Did not know until I received my receipt, that there is an extra .99 charge for Plain Hash Browns. I guess the hash browns are made in advance & there is an extra charge for Plain Hash Browns. Who knew?? My sister's breakfast came with biscuits & gravy. She said the gravy had a strange taste like it wasn't fresh. We browsed the gift shop but didn't make any purchases as nothing caught our eye that wasn't on sale. They already had their Halloween decorations out in July. We will probably visit again in the future. read more

I visited Cracker Barrel with a friend yesterday, and the service was excellent. The food to say the least was bearable. The prices were astronomical and I think they're measuring their food out with a teaspoon. I was very disappointed that you now have to pay for something as simple as apple butter, you have to ask for biscuits or cornbread, which used to be complementary coming to the table. If you don't ask, you don't get !!!apple butter used to be complementary now you have to pay for it as well as a lot of their sides that used to be complementary to the meal you have to pay for..... They're serving sizes have become much smaller and their prices have become much larger. Cracker Barrel used to be one of my favorite places to eat ....not anymore Cracker Barrel you're dropping the ball you become overpriced and your portions have become very meager!!! are you guys suffering some financial problems over there ?anyway you may not know this but you're driving your customers away how sad is this? We never seem to go wrong with the Cracker Barrel. The staff is always friendly and the food is always good. We generally go for breakfast. Our current favorite is the biscuit Bennie. They also have great coffee. After your meal, you can browse in their country store. We would definitely recommend the Crackle Barrel. read more

Party of 7. As soon as we sat down we asked for apple butter. Because they are so stingy with it these days we started doing that. When we made our food order we again asked for apple butter. When we finally got apple butter after all the other food was delivered to our table it was 1-1oz portion of apple butter. Again for a party of 7. No jelly at the table either. Service is always the key to a great experience. Had dinner with friends and I ordered the Chef Salad, it was fresh and good portion the oven roasted turkey was the center piece. I am sometimes hesitant to order just a salad as an entree however this is a large salad and it was awesome. The waitress we had a very good, friendly, and kept our drinks full. After our meal and stopped in the gift shop and the service there was also excellent. Very friendly walking with me to show some of the items I was looking for. Cracker Barrel is a great place to go to get as close to a home cooked meal while eating out. I especially like Thursdays and the Turkey and Dressing Special. Nothing and I mean nothing beats having a Thanksgiving meal several times a year. Their dressing is super moist and Turkey is so juicy. Pick the Hashbrown Casserole as your side and you are going to have a great meal. Besides that meal, breakfast blows IHOP out of the water. On a cold winter day, they'll have the fire going with real wood, but don't sit too close, because it will singe the hair on your back and neck! It' gets hot!! read more
