Nasty burned chicken, inedible salty & cold dumplings, decent carrots

New management needed here! We should've paid attention to the low ratings. The five of us stopped here tonight on a quiet Monday evening. The restaurant wasn't even half full, but it still took forever. We were seated promptly, but we waited 45 minutes to get our food. We were almost to the point of walking out when our food finally came out. Instead of being relieved, it only got worse. Not a single one of our orders was correct. There were missing dishes, wrong side items, the dumplings (my usual fave) were completely inedible - dried out and extremely salty, hubby's eggs were undercooked and loaded with cheese (which he can't eat and didn't order), my chicken was literally solid black, fresh tomato slices were green, ham was oversalted and could've been used as a frisbee, gravy was cold. The only food that was hot and appetizing were the biscuits. There were obviously problems in the back today or something, but the manager made no apologies and the food was hardly improved when he brought it out again. And our poor waitress was in tears because of whatever was going on with the manager(s) in the back. We let her know that we knew the bad experience was not her fault and we prayed with her and told the manager it was unacceptable for his servers to be treated this way. All around just a shockingly terrible dining experience. This was definitely our worst Cracker Barrel visit ever, and we have eaten at CBs on a regular basis for decades. I would avoid going back here until they have new management.

Fabulous to have a free place to park the RV overnight, arriving at this Cracker Barrel after they closed and departing before they opened. Sorry, CB! I owe you a breakfast! Yes, Cracker Barrel tolerates overnight RV parking as long as you're just parking and not "camping." So if you can please not deploy all your slideouts if possible and maybe not set up your stadium chairs? This is a good location. The parking lot is tidy and i had no problems here. I'll look forward to breakfast (Uncle Hershel's Favorite for me) the next time I'm passing through. [Review 20199 overall - 232 in Kentucky - 1176 of 2023.]

Go anywhere else Just order 100$ worth of food with their family dining option. The chicken was raw and they canceled half the order because it was too late 7:30 pm. This place needs to be out of business. Although it's my fault we had a bad experience back in May. I forgot how bad this place was. It won't happen again.

I don't know why this restaurant has such a low overall rating. We have no reason to complain. We were seated quickly, our server was attentive, got our beverages in a timely manner, and the food came out quickly. She checked with us several times to see if we needed anything else. As always, the portions were generous. Normally we would've taken some of it home for another meal the next day. As we were traveling, that wasn't an option. My husband got the fried chicken dinner, with an upgrade of a side salad. I got the fried chicken breast dinner with green beans and the upgrade to side salad. The salads were fresh and crisp, the chicken hot and delicious. My husband's 4-piece meal was a better deal, with more chicken, but both meals were good.

Missing some food and have been here for 45 minutes and food is not what I expected and just got serviced biscuits that a so hard it turns to crumbs and I'm still waiting for my refill of sweet tea. Don't recommend this place unless you want to watch others get what your waiting for but only yours is bad. Waste of time and money. My husband got 4 out of 6 chicken strips and they gave him those size pieces back only 4!

After driving about 400 miles, Cracker Barrel was just what the doctor ordered. We started off with their beignets which were nice and hot. For dinner I got the rainbow trout, green beans, and pinto beans. Everything was delicious and prepared properly. To finish up I had a couple biscuits with jam. The waiter was very nice and polite - always saying Yes Ma'am and Yes Sir. They had the fire roaring which always makes the place feel cozy.

There are ants in the salt and all over our table and our family was trying to eat and notice one then they kept on coming

I ordered a sandwich with a side of fries. (See pic..lolI literally got six french fries and when I laughed, she said sorry, We are now weighing our portions and that's the new amount. The server was even embarrassed to bring my plate out. This will be my last meal at cracker barrel. They have changed so much.

Went on a Friday night since it was across from our hotel. Typical chain restaurant . Had the Friday night fish fry. 4 pieces of breaded cod plus 2 sides and corn muffins. Fish could have been crispier. Asked for a Bud Lite but was out. Seemed short staff on help as many tables were not cleaned as was most of the restaurant. Unfortunately there were not many dinner choices in Shepherdsville

Raining like crazy. Had truck in parking lot overnite. They said it was ok. We (4 of us) came in for breakfast in the morning. Still raining like crazy at 8:00 on sat morn. I had the oatmeal again and asked for two poached med eggs with bacon. I put tobasco on my eggs a then cut some white and it was rubbery and over cooked. So I flagged her down and asked for med please. Response : oh they don't know how to cook poached eggs... really?!? Ha! So second batch came out a bit better.. not so hard. My oatmeal is always cooked good. Bf again with the dang chef salad!!

They have coffee to go at Cracker Barrel. This is essential.

This is a go-to restroom stop when we're driving from Indiana to Tennessee. Sorry not sorry, Cracker Barrel: You typically have relatively clean restrooms, so this is where we choose to stop. It's also nice to stretch your legs here and just wander around the gift shop. And if you have kids, you must look at all the toys and books that are in the gift shop and touch each one. Plenty of parking here, including spaces for oversized vehicles. I've heard they also serve food here at Cracker Barrel.

Shocked to see the low rating. The place was clean, service was great, staff members were super friendly and food was good.

After driving by it because we didn't see a sign for a coffee shop, we turned around and found out is a part of High Foods. We were greeted upon entering and browsed the coffee side of the shop while the staff completed a food order. The inside of the shop has an almost industrial feel with several tables and some bench seating on one side. Several arcade games are available for those who enjoy them. The most impressive thing about our visit was the pride that Tammy, our server (and apparently the cook and barista!), took in her work. It was obvious that she loved the establishment and her job. After finding out it was my first visit, she went out of her way to share the menus and told me about local favorites. She was very outgoing, friendly, and willing to find suitable substitutions with the coffee menu that would accommodate my dietary needs. I was also thrilled when I learned that the cardboard sleeve on my coffee had artwork by children from a local elementary school! What a great way to get children involved in their community. Having already had lunch, I didn't get to try the food. But everything that I saw looked delicious. One patron was eating a BLT that made my mouth water! Tammy told us about their breakfast menu and I can't wait to go back to try some menu items.

Located off cedar creek road near the zoneton and Shepherdsville lines this family farm has very limited days and hour when they are open for business. Living not to far away from this place I've been wanting to try it for years. We finally made the stop in to his holiday season as we were gonna make Christmas Eve ribeyes for my in laws and wife family at our house. So we stopped in on a Thursday at 430pm as soon as they opened. You pull into a drive way and follow it back through a gate to the first set of buildings. You walk in and they have a spacious area with different refrigerators for your different types of meats. They also had eggs and jams and things in different areas. Truly a family owned business as when we walked there we met 3 generations of workers in the grandma, mom and daughter along with some other family members running Around. We purchased I think 7 ribeyes and they were priced very fairly. My wife actually said they was a few cents abound cheaper then big chains like wal mart and Meijer. So anytime you can shop local and save money it's a win win for everyone. The place does sale whole cows and pigs or portions of them at special pre designed cuts and prices. They also have some pre setup meal in bags like a steak and more breakfast that you can purchase. That like all of there food is purchased frozen so you have to still cook and prepare it yourself. We cooked up the steaks Christmas Eve night and they are delicious. Very good flavor and very tasty. So absolutely no complaints here. Overall glad we finally checked this place out. Now that we have and no they have good steaks and pricing we will have to try and be available during there limited hours of operation so we can keep supporting this local business.
