First time here and we really enjoyed ourselves!! The guys decided to go for the triple Dixie burger challenge, 3 pounds of hamburger patties piled high and a heaping side of fries. Thirty minutes to finish you still pay $29.95 but you get bragging rights and a fun Tshirt. I went for the country fried steak, mashed potatoes and broccoli salad. And the kiddo had a hot ham and cheese w/fries. A really fun family outing at a small old school diner setting. Downside is it is very small and I can see where it is a local favorite tables fill fast! Breakfast is king here I believe. We came here for a late breakfast around noon. Of course it was a Sunday and the place was packed. Fortunately a table opened up under 10 minutes later and we were seated quickly. Within 5 minutes our orders were taken and our omelettes(veggie) with hash browns and toast came out a short time later. The prices are reasonable and service was very good. It seems like the "regulars" are served first with refills of coffee and other drinks, and you'll find that you're sometimes "overlooked" if not recognized. Food is delicious. I eat there when I'm in the area. The women are pretty lol. Sometimes that's all you need to eat there. Their service is great and the girls keep check on you to make sure everything is great. I've had the chop steak with gravy and onions with mashed potatoes and green beans and it was pretty good. The last time I was in there I had chicken fried steak or something like that. I ordered it by mistake, but it was pretty good. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody. read more

Walked into a packed house. This is the go to place. Staff was welcoming and friendly and very busy. The cafe walls are lined with pictures of celebrities of days gone by. We seated ourselves and in no time we had coffee, water and menus. My husband chose the smoked sausage and eggs which came with house cottage potatoes and toast. Good portion, prepared perfectly and the sausage was juicy and tender. He ate up every bite. I chose the Country fried steak and eggs, with potatoes and toast. Great portion size in the steak, eggs cooked perfect, and of course I ate every bite. Definitely recommend this down home cooking friendly atmosphere restaurant. 9 years and one day later, I'm back for a return visit!! Honestly, I don't get through here very often. My most pleasant server was Kinnidi B. She made a perfect Arnold Palmer for me and then took my order. I was gettin' hungry, and that country fried steak was callin' my name from the kitchen (yep, all the way from the kitchen!). I obliged the call, and my two side were cauliflower covered in cheese, and a (loaded) house salad. The salad came out quickly. I put a packet of Bleu cheese dressing on my salad and proceeded to get to work on it. What a hugely filling salad! Unfortunately, my country fried steak came out soon thereafter. I was already running out of room, but I knew I had to soldier on. I wanna tell ya, despite my lack of internal space, I had to hold back and refrain from licking the plate. It was soooo good! Kinnidi B. is a bright and sparkly breath of fresh air. Such a sweetheart, she did a great job of checking up on me. Actually, not to disparage any of the other wait staff (I used to call them waitresses), everyone was helping everyone else. They really worked well as a team! The waitress I had was a blonde younger lady, or presumed to be, was such a sweet heart at first but once my order was wrong and i politely asked her to see if they could fix it, I got a eye roll and "sure" not with excitement either. Overpriced, and service was terrible. so sad to see such a business let young kids do whatever they want and get away with it. Food was good, messed up my order at first and when I got it back it was good but definitely overpriced this was also over a month ago, just now finding time to update. This place has been on my radar for quite sometime. I decided for Yelps Big Night In. I'd support a local restaurant that I have never been to. I don't know why I have put off this place for so long but, I'm very glad I chose this place. I called in my order for curbside pick up, I got an answer right away. Everything went quickly and smooth over the phone and was told my order would be ready in 10 minutes. I was able to get a spot for curbside and they had numbered parking spots. It was full just shortly after I got there. I waited about 10 minutes before they brought my order to me. I don't fault them beings they were busy. I was greeted with friendly service. I was able to pay cash and tipped the employee who came to my car. She smiled and said thank you and to have a good night. As for my food I got the Patty Melt with no Onions w/ a side of fries. I got ranch dipping sauce as well because, well I love dipping my fries in Ranch. I also got a thousand island dressing which I did not ask for, it just came with the meal. The Patty Melt came on Texas Toast, and I prefer Texas Toast over regular bun. The sandwich it's self was almost too big for me to take a bite out of. That's ok, the meat patty, bacon and cheese was all good. I couldn't eat all of it but I saved the other half for late night or for lunch tomorrow. I normally don't give 5 stars to a place I haven't been inside of. I was very glad to help a local business on Yelps Big Night Out. Whenever I am in Kentucky, I seek out the MOST LOCAL DINER/CAFE that I can. Christie's Cafe was that place and did not disappoint. I went at 9:00AM on a Tuesday because every other time from Friday through Sunday the parking lot was PACKED (that says a lot). Tuesday morning was a bit easier to get a seat. The food was spot on and had options that you don't normally see, like "Two Eggs and Fried Bologna." I chose the veggie omelet with a half order of B&G. Delish. I will say that the home fries with onions (just kinda warmed up and put on top) was a bit of a disappointment, but this isn't that other place :) The service was awesome!! The decor is 1950 themed and well done (I chose the table under the Elvis poster from when he was in the Army). If you are in the area, stop on in!!!! read more

Been to Christi's about 10-15 times over the course of 5ish years. Never had any issues with the place and always recommended. I went this past weekend and when I ordered the home fries they aren't "home fries" anymore. They used to be fresh cut potatoes, but now they appear to come from a bag. Didn't mention a surcharge for a credit card so I deducted that $1 from the tip. Was cold inside on a cold day outside. Warmer inside would have been nice read more

This is a go to place for breakfast and lunch/dinner for sure! It's good and simple comfort food served diner style and made to satisfy your hunger. I had the open faced roast beef and graveyard platter with mashed potatoes & graveyard and seasoned green beans and my wife had breakfast/brunch. My roast beef was good, but a little dry. The mashed potatoes had the texture and taste of instant mashed potatoes and the gravy might have come from a jar or can but tasted good enough for what it was. The menu was fairly extensive so there are plenty of other options to try. I may go again just to try the hamburgers, breakfast, or something else. read more

So, this place is small, with a badly cracked parking lot and a very girly 1950's theme all done in hot pink, black and white. My friend and I learned the hard way that you just walk in and seat yourself (we tried hovering by the door looking for someone to tell us where to sit for about two minutes and all we got were stares by people at other tables). Once we were seated though, our server came pretty quickly and was pretty quick about bringing us some water and drinks. I ordered some fried pickles (with a single ranch packet, it was no where near enough for the amount of pickles on the plate, ask for two at the beginning if you get this) and a Fried bologna sandwich with cheese and lettuce. It came with cajun fries. Now the pickles, aside from not having enough dipping sauce, were extremely salty. So much that after just a few I could not eat any more. The bologna sandwich was not great either, the bologna was cooked well, but it too was a salt bomb, and it was incredibly dry - it literally had nothing with it but lettuce and school cafeteria white bread. Also nothing was offered except lettuce, onion and tomato, so silly me, I guess I expected it to come with mustard or something. My friends sandwich was equally dry but it had seemed like such an inconvenience to ask for another packet of ranch we didn't dare ask for any other condiment. Anyway, its a weird vibe in there and I guess caters to regulars only. Food is very basic and bland. It's not bad, but its not good, I cant think of many options over in that area though so I guess if you go there definitely have a plan before you get in there. read more

What a gem! My mom and I stopped in for lunch because she likes the place and I had heard great things. I'm so glad we did! This is down home diner cooking at its finest. We were greeted warmly and quickly decided what we wanted. It was freezing out and I knew soup would warm me right up. I chose the house salad with a cup of bean soup and some cornbread. My mom had a cheeseburger and fries. Everything came out within 15 minutes or so and it was all absolutely delicious. The bean soup was perfect and the cornbread that came with it was incredible. Stopped at Christi's while passing through town. I was craving some home cooking and after looking at the menu and reviews, this fit the bill. Came in around 1:15pm on a Saturday and holy cow was this place packed! The best places usually are. Although the place was busy, there was substantial parking. We even had a trailer and had not problems. Inside is hot pink everywhere, with a diner meets Breakfast at Tiffany's feel. Odd combo but it works. It was extremely hard to figure out what to order as everything sounded so good and all the food we saw coming out of the kitchen looked delicious! We landed on country fried steak and fried chicken with sides of mashed potatoes, fried okra, and fried cornbread. Also got a side of fries...can't pass up some old fashioned crinkle fries! The portions were large and while we did our best, we took a couple boxes to go. The breading on the fried chicken was crispy but not too greasy. It had enough flavor that gravy/sauce wasn't necessary. The country fried steak was tasty and the gravy had just enough spice. The mashed potatoes appear to be homemade (had some lumps) and also had good flavor. Overall, good 'ol comfort food. The servers were extremely busy and you could tell they were busting butt. Unfortunately this showed in their unfriendly demeanor. That being said, it didn't cause me to take any points away and didn't keep us from enjoying our meal.
