If you're looking for the best down home cooking for a fair price & great service, then this place fits the bill! I was greeted with friendly conversations by several waitresses & served a delicious country fried steak dinner. This tasty meal made "Cracker Barrel" look like a 3rd rate restaurant! Southwest Louisville is blessed to have this place to eat! You'll be glad you ate here

    The burgers were great !

On our trip to Louisville we were told to stop by and eat at Christi's! Was worth the trip! Great food and service!

Breakfast is king here I believe. We came here for a late breakfast around noon. Of course it was a Sunday and the place was packed. Fortunately a table opened up under 10 minutes later and we were seated quickly. Within 5 minutes our orders were taken and our omelettes(veggie) with hash browns and toast came out a short time later. The prices are reasonable and service was very good. My wife even had leftovers. It's not a huge place but very popular and it's a locally owned gem.

The entrance to the cafe is easy access and colorful.

Breakfast was delicious from the fried eggs over medium and the huge biscuits with plenty of good old white country gravy and home fried potatoes. The server was very friendly and checked on us often and refilled my coffee several times. Prices are reasonable and can be seen on their website and on Facebook.

Walked into a packed house. This is the go to place. Staff was welcoming and friendly and very busy. The cafe walls are lined with pictures of celebrities of days gone by. We seated ourselves and in no time we had coffee, water and menus. My husband chose the smoked sausage and eggs which came with house cottage potatoes and toast. Good portion, prepared perfectly and the sausage was juicy and tender. He ate up every bite. I chose the Country fried steak and eggs, with potatoes and toast. Great portion size in the steak, eggs cooked perfect, and of course I ate every bite. Definitely recommend this down home cooking friendly atmosphere restaurant. Thank you to the crew at Christie's Cafe for making our first experience a great one.

    A well-built Arnold Palmer.

Do the home fries have onions? If so, can you order without?

They come plain, with the option to add onions or cheese.

We were greeted by a friendly and efficient server. I ordered the double quarter pounder. I got mine sans lettuce and pickle. The default cheese on the burger was American but I was able to get mine with Provolone. You can also get Pepper Jack or Swiss. My burger was excellent, made with quality meat. The seasoned fries were very good with a definite note of garlic. The size of the fries order is plenty petite though. Shake flavors are limited to chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. I ordered a chocolate shake and it was pleasantly thick and tasty. We also got some oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip cookies to take home. They were of the most and chewy varietal (I prefer crispy) but were still good. Burger Boy has a digital station that allows you to select music to be played in the restaurant. I do need to point out that the price for a single patty burger was well over $10 so prices are high. But sure, if I was in the neighborhood and was craving a burger, I'd come back.

And let me tell you, it's obvious there's new ownership, new style, new menu and all for the better. The decor was giving a Bakersfield California vibe right in Louisville Kentucky. Visually appealing, honky Tonk with a small splash of humor. The day we went, was a sunny spring, I preferred indoor - we were sat at a super spacious booth. Menu is one page but they absolutely nailed it. He ordered a Hemingway. It came in a beautiful copper coupe with a dehydrated orange slice. Classy, cool with a kick. We started with the Mexican Hot Cheese dip. It's not your typical queso -- this had chilis, onions, garlic, jalapeños as toppings and it was delicious. It was accompanied by house made chips. The cheese though... Hubs had fried catfish with the Nashville Hot option and I had a Caesar salad with fried chicken. Fried Nashville hot catfish verdict - Very good, very spicy, very crispy. Caesar with chicken...I stole a crouton off the top, "that garlic crouton was amazing, I could eat those like a snack." The salad itself was divine. The dressing is light, you can taste the green chilis without the spicy kick. I could eat this salad every day! Of course we had to try the Mexican crème brûlée. Super creamy, chocolatey with spice custard with a delicate brûlée sugar on top, garnished with fresh strawberries. Same restaurant, new flavors better service, awesome experience.

First off - I love this local gem, and I think it was just an odd/off night. It started with a scary trip to the ladies room, and it was just a mess. The first part of our evening (meeting friends) was great. Cocktails were tasty and the music was vibing. Fried pickles were AWESOME. At one point, the bartender changed the record and it became crazy loud - we literally couldn't hear the person 2 feet away speaking. A member of our party got up and asked the bartender if he could turn it down (asked politely), and was ignored. Literally ignored - bartender looked at my friend and the just walked away (and not to turn down the music). Next cocktail was AWFUL... food came out, and it was hot but nothing great; fries were oily. Churros were tough and overcooked as well. Our server (a younger woman) was attentive and friendly, and that was the highlight of our visit. She did turn down the music when we asked (and after another table I believe also asked). It wasn't a busy night, and I love the vinyl vibe and cool venue - we will come back and try again, but when 3 cocktails, an appetizer, and entree cost close to $100 before tip (for 2 - our friends were the same, so $200 for a table), you really need to be on point and provide solid service.
