The food was really good. Our waitress had a lot of tables. We still got pretty good service. The restaurant was nice and we always like the gift shop.

I had already had dinner elsewhere but this Cracker Barrel tolerates overnight RV parking with designated spots available. I pulled up, secured the Sprinter van, and went to sleep. A quiet night and when I woke up, there were two other RVs in the lot that had arrived after. Breakfast time! I had a simple breakfast, the "Old Timer's" gets it done for me. Two eggs, basted because they don't do poached. With bacon, hash brown casserole and yes, biscuits and gravy. Yum! The parking lot was tidy with no litter. The store was nicely lit. The wifi was working. I will absolutely be back again. [Review 19689 overall - 143 in Illinois - 661 of 2023.]

We were on our way to Springfield and our usual restaurant was closed (no idea why) so we kept driving and saw the Cracker Barrel sign. Hubby pulled off the interstate! Luckily they weren't too busy and we were seated right away. Our server was friendly and cheerful which is always a good start. It was lunchtime, but we both got breakfast. I love the sourdough toast. Everything came out quickly and hot! I hadn't been to Cracker Barrel in a long time and it was nice to be back. Everything tasted great!

    Empty hostess podium

Stopped here on the way home from a long road trip. Bathroom needed cleaning and trash needed to be taken out. It took over five minutes for the hostess to wait on us as no one was at the podium and even though other staff saw us standing there they did not come to let us know the hostess would be a few minutes. Just before I was about to call the restaurant to see if they had a wait, the hostess finally showed up. Food was good but not great. We had catfish, dumplings, chicken, and corn. The chicken felt a little hard to chew due to the amount of breading. We ended up taking the bread, butter and corn muffin home. Following the hostess issues, the waitress was very attentive, no complaints there.

Grilled chicken tenders, mashed potatoes and rock hard hockey puck biscuits

Went to dinner at Cracker Barrel, we were informed that only two servers showed up for work. So it was going to take quite a while. We waited over 20 minutes just to get our drinks another 15 minutes past before our order for food was taken. Our drinks were wrong. We placed our order for food to find out that four of the items were out and either had to be substituted or taken off, the biscuits were rock pucks. The fire wasn't lit and it should have been that's part of going to Cracker Barrel. There was shit smeared on the walls in the women's bathroom no toilet paper in the stall. Horrible experience. While paying at the end of the meal, she asked how everything was we let her know and she asked would you like to use your pegs to pay for one of your drinks instead of just comping it .

Raw chicken at Cracker Barrel Springfield Illinois.

I ordered two kids meals for my children to go. When we got home my daughter came to me and said her chicken tastes weird and chewy. I was really upset to see that Cracker Barrel Springfield Illinois essentially put grill marks on raw chicken and served it. When I called the manager Cexplained that they were in the middle of a rush and they had a brand new cook. Is it acceptable to serve raw chicken/ cut corners with food safety because you have a lot of customers? Or someone being brand new messing up chicken due to lack of experience? I'm assuming Cracker Barrel has food handler requirements for even new employees. I have real concerns for other customers. I hope this brings awareness that Cracker Barrel may need to retrain their employees on food safety. I hope my daughter doesn't get sick from this.

Grilled tender dinner , mashed potatoes, steak fries , broccoli and unsweetened ice tea .

An old favorite. Service has always been good, but Sunday mornings tend to be crowded.

The playlist is a whole vibe. We had a few appetizers, my favorite was the risotto arancini!, followed by the charred carrots. Both were tasty! The Tandoori pig wings were decent, not my favorite. The entrees were so yummy. I would totally order the bucatini again, that was honestly the best to me, though I had the braised short ribs. They were good, but I wished I'd stuck with my first mind with the bucatini... I was worried about the pepperoni, which I tend to not care for. It was not a problem. The salmon entree is also tasty, so really you can't lose here. I felt confident that whatever was coming out would be a treat. And those beignets ... oh.my!! So tasty!! Excited to go back!

The place itself is small but super cozy. The design of the restaurant is beautiful. Very modern. Our server was great, seeing as we had a party of 13. I had the salmon and it was delicious. A lot of people in my party had the steak and also said it was good. I was a little disappointed that they only had one type of Cab wine by the glass, the rest were by the bottle. Would highly recommend for a nice date night. Definitely will be back if I'm in Springfield again.
