Finished an awesome Pickin' and Paddlin' event and decided to stop in here for some food. Disclaimer: This restaurant was NOT busy to the extent most restaurants get in Bend. There were many empty tables and at least three servers about in addition to the bar staff and front of the house folk. If there were no stars to give, this place would get them (is that possible?). The experience upon entering was great - upbeat energy and a sound explanation of the how to-s. After that? Steadily, slowly, and miserably all down hill. I ordered the Chicken Po-Boy and my other half ordered the Shrimp Po-Boy. After a THIRTY MINUTE WAIT with no check ins, we received our Po-Boys....along with no silverware, condiments, or water refills....once hubs found the napkins, we were still optimistic. I noticed our whopping 5-6 soggy in the middle potato chips left a considerable amount of space on the platter. Once I bit into my chicken(?) sando...all optimism faded like the sun over the beautiful Deschutes. I am 1000% sure I could have dipped my dog's leather leash in butter and pan fried it to a better texture than the meat on the white bread. Still no check ins....still no water refill...still no optimism - but many minutes of trying to chew. Hubs said his shrimp was ok, and he was hungry so he ate it. If I thought ANY of the staff would have cared about the lack of quality or service, I would have said something. Instead, I left my leather on my plate and ate my ice. I heard the adjacent table trying to explain to their server that they were charged for additional items they had not ordered...to which the server replied, "Are you sure?"....We had to ask for our check after another 10-15 minutes and only then was the server remotely interested in how we were....as he stared vacantly into space over the railing into the river area....Suffice it to say that we won't be back, and we'll warn others off - complete waste of time, money, and calories. With all the rockin' food and craft beer to be consumed in Bend, leave this one to become another casualty of bad service and worse food. read more

When we swung by McKay's in search of delicious food, we were 10 minutes too late. Sadly, they recommended Craft Kitchen. I intend to let them know it was not a good tip. Overpriced for what you get, and the food was dry, dry, dry....the possible taste was cooked right out of it. Squirting sauce over the dry contents just doesn't make up for the lack of skill present. Be it meat or potatoes....the only moist and succulent part was the pickle on the side. This property is in a pony location, but never seems to be able to do convincing job or survive. In a town of pubs with sterling food, this one needs to work on their craft....a lot! read more

Wow! Walking into this brew house we had zero expectations. We were on the Bend Oregon Ale Trail and had seen many a brew pub already and had mixed experiences. In a town that has more breweries per capita than any other town in the north west we were looking for a stand out, and we found it. The beer, the service and especially the food were absolutely amazing! With a menu designed around the beers they offered, it was perfect. We highly recommend this place. read more

By far the best brisket I've ever had! We also got the burnt ends as a side and it was amazing as well. Cornbread was so tasty as were the shoestring fries. Service was really friendly and fast and we were welcomed to taste several beer samples, which is always a nice plus. I chose the Hazy IPA and it was hoppy and smooth. Wonderful! That was lucky because we got to try a bit of everything and it was all good - pork belly lettuce wraps, roasted beets, fish tacos, shrimp and grits, it was all good. Really nice beer selection, too. Second time here. First time we left after being persuaded to sit with a young family. Nothing against young families, we were one once, but it was a couple date for us and we let them know when we walked in. This time we did sit down at our own table. Food was good. Beer and cocktail was good as well. But a couple next to us were seated at a 4-top. They were half way through their meal when asked to move to accommodate another group. I don't know but I can't recall seeing, like ever, a table being moved half way through dinner. Pretty whack. read more

The wife and I stopped in for a pint and some small plates after walking the river trail. Exceptional comfort food. Try the shrimp and grits....delicious tapas sized goodness. Love coming here for weekend brunch! Excellent views, service, coffee, bacon, potatoes, beans... truly delicious food and they have a kid room! I have never had a bad meal here and there usually isn't a wait. The logger breakfast is my fave but the ham tartine, benedict and french toast are delicious too. Highly recommend! read more

We had a great brunch here. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed and the food did not disappoint. The menu has a lot of variety, so there's something for everyone. A few things stand out though, like the burnt ends biscuit and the chicken biscuit. The service was friendly and efficient. It is a nice way to spend an afternoon tasting beers and great food. What a bummer! Clearly change has been hard on these guys. They went from a beautiful five star location on the river and excellent food to a parking lot in the back of an industrial building with food that just isn't the same (and is more expensive). Shrimp po boy used to be one of my favorites, while the shrimp are still pretty good, the rest is just purple cabbage with no sauce, dressing, or aoili, good roll, but very bland. Mac and cheese was incredibly boring, no taste whatsoever. Veggie side dish was celery (nothing else). Really? Fries were good and the RyeIPA was good. Food prices are a total joke. $14 for a sandwich. Jeeeez. Very dissatisfied after being a loyal and five-star fan for years at their old location. Let's hope they can get their act together, but seems as though they are sliding into Oblivion. Total shame. read more

If I could give less stars I would. Terrible terrible service. We only went to drink and had to wait to be seated even though there was seriously about 20+ open seats. We finally kept bugging her enough that she let us sit near the bar. And the service at the bar wasn't any better. It wasn't busy at all so I'm not sure if this is how it always is and I even asked the hostess her name and she refused to tell me. Found this using yelp and decided to give it a try. Overall outstanding. the eating area is in what could have been a garage - modified heavily. Big Screen TV's (Steelers on Preseason (woo hoo!) and a nice eating area. Their Hazy IPA is excellent - and the RYE IPA is no slouch, either. Food gets ordered from a food cart (?) - it's there all the time, so that's not the right word, but it's easy, and they give you a beeper thing, so you know when it's ready - and the brisket is excellent. This wasn't our destination, but we're glad Crux Fermentation was packed so we could stop in here! Bartender was knowledgeable and helped us find a beer we liked. I had the Log Rider Red, and DH had Voodoo Thunder IPA. Both beers were excellent and perfect for our tastes. I was on a brewpub burger mission, so I ordered the Craft (house) burger, DH had the Oyster Po'Boy. Both sandwiches came out quickly, nice presentation and very tasty. DH rated his Po'Boy as the best sandwich he has eaten in a long time! Just as we were saying it, the cook (chef?) came out to ask about our food and we were happy to tell him how great it was. We sat on the bar but there are tables on the patio overlooking the river that looked like a nice place to relax after a day of hiking. Definitely recommend! read more

This was my husband and I's first stop on our road trip honeymoon from Denver and oh man.... We will be back tomorrow! Our waitress was incredible and we had a great discussion with the owners. Don't listen to the negative reviews. This place had AWESOME food and friendly staff. We went in there for lunch (me, wife, and kids). They had board games to keep everyone entertained while we waited for our food. The staff in there were very friendly and the beer was delicious. What we had: IPA and Pale (not sure the names). Both were crisp and delicious but I preferred the pale. To eat I had the burnt ends with mac, wife pulled pork with mac and jalapeño cornbread, kids pulled pork sliders and kids quesadilla. Burnt ends are highly recommended!! Everything else was delicious. read more

We were in Bend for the first time on July 13 and walked around the old mill shopping area, watching the people baking in the hot sun floating down the Deschutes. We were hungry for lunch and decided to try Craft K&B. Amazing. The food. The service. The vibe. I loved watching two little boys playing in Craft's kiddie farmer's market and kitchen. The brisket was so good! The beer was great and both the owner and the server told us about things to do in Bend. Courtney and Ashley... the owner even gave us a can cooler and sticker! Super weird experience. The folks were nice, but everything that could go wrong seems like it did. We sat in self serve area, but there was nothing to serve ourselves with. No cups, no condiments, no silverware. We asked for it 3 x and then finally asked other tables to use their stuff that they weren't using. Our drink order was wrong, and the line was piling up so I just ended up drinking my vodka margarita(?) was supposed to be a moscow mule. Our food orders were both wrong. When I went to check out, she informed me that they had already run my card for $40, that's standard. What if I had spent less than $40?! The whole experience was super weird. I went there a week ago with a friend for my first time. Amy was our server and she was great. The location is great and this will be a wonderful spot during the summer to have a meal outside facing the river. I had the cubano with a side of greens and cornbread. DAAAANG! That was awesome! Very tasty pork belly sandwich, greens were perfect and the cornbread was manna from Heaven. Imagine cornbread slightly sweetened, slightly crisp on the outside soft on the inside and BACON...who doesn't love bacon? Bacon was placed on the bottom of the cornbread during the baking process and served with honey butter! I shared my friends blackened shrimp po boy but I'll be back again so I can have a whole one for myself! I'm on a new kick too...Vodka Gimlet. Their vodka gimlet was the best I've had so far using fresh limes. Oh Lordy.... My second visit to Craft Kitchen & Brewery was the following week with a friend from out of town and my husband. This time I had the blackened shrimp po boy, vodka gimlet and a family pan of .....yup.....CORNBREAD! The blackened shrimp po boy was served on bread locally made by sparrow bakery. I love that it's not a heavy bread and complimented the blackened shrimp perfectly. That with the vodka gimlet and cornbread was perfect! Can't wait to go back and try something else on their menu. I will however HAVE to order more of that incredible cornbread. read more

We went here as part of the Bend Ale Trail. Great service and a great selection of craft beer. We came again on the following Sunday because they have the NFL Sunday Ticket and had lunch. Really a great meal all around. The menu is slanted towards southern cuisine and BBQ. We also had the bottomless mimosas which were refilled happily. Highly recommend. read more
