On Wednesday March 8th 2023 My friend and I decided to attend an open mic event at Craft Kitchen&Brewing. We arrived at about 7:50 pm and ordered 1 drink (beer) each and also a BBQ Plate. The show then started promptly @ 8pm. My friend and I sat down and started enjoying our food and drinks. We saw 3 performers and at that point about 25 minutes past 8, my friend decided to go get another drink. The bartender poured him his drink and then one of the managers (Katy Ipock) came over and told the bartender not to serve him. My friend asked if he could know why and the manager (Katy Ipock) said "we have the right to refuse service". She said that "your friend (me) can finish his drink and after that both of you need to leave". My friend came back to the table and told me what had happened. I finished my drink in less than 5 minutes and we got up to leave. We closed our tab and left. The next day, March 9th I called Craft to speak to Katy and was told she would call me back. At 1:16 PM on Thursday March 9th, Katy Ipock left me a voicemail message saying we refused service because one or both of you looked liked you had been drinking beforehand. The bartender should be trained to spot this and she poured us another drink because guess what? We were sober when we walked in. This is why I know this incident was a bunch of lies. We spoke to my friend's sister and she was told by another patron that we were asked to leave based on misconstrued allegations from one of the performers. Anyone has the right to leave an establishment whenever they want. And that person could have left it at that. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed in the way I was treated by Craft Kitchen and Breweries' Katy Ipock. Please reach out to me so we can clear this up before it becomes a bigger issue. read more

Great location with a view of the Deschutes River. They have a nice deck too. We were looking for a place to eat lunch that would accomandate parking a full size truck. We found this brewery in a small shopping center with plenty of room for parking. We were pleasantly surprised with the view and the food was delicious. I ordered the half brisket and turkey sandwich with a side of quinoa and kale salad. My husband ordered the large brisket sandwich with a side of greens. The buns may have been homemade because they were really fresh. The bbq sauces they provided were also excellent. Although we didn't order any beer (because we didn't have a DD) the lunch that we ordered was excellent. Wait staff was very friendly too. read more

The view was great sitting on the outdoor deck during summer. The food was okay... Not great for the prices. My ribs were overcooked like jerky. The BBQ sauce is very tangy (think Arby's). Husband's favorite part of his falafel was the wrap, not so much the contents. Great server, but probably won't go back since Bend offers such amazing food... Loved our lunch. Great view of the Deschuetes and all those floating on a hot. Saturday. The tables are outstanding and unique as they are real wood. The deck has even a better view of the river. The food was excellent. We both had their smoked sandwiches. Turkey for one of us and brisket for the other-generous and on excellent buns from Sparrow Bakery. Beer was delicious. This place has an awesome location, you can't beat the view from their patio! It's too bad the service, food, and drinks have all been pretty disappointing both times I've visited. The service was very slow. We waited about 20 minutes to get drinks and watched several tables that were seated after us get served first. The Redneck Nachos were small and reminded me of a side order nachos from Taco Bell, pretty much just chips and queso. For $8, I felt this was a bit over priced. The first time I visited, we did a flight of beer tasters. I couldn't really tell if the beer was good because they all tasted like soap. The second time, they at least washed the tasting glasses throughly so we could taste our samples instead of soap. The Sweet Tea Sipper cocktail was worth the wait, great drink for a hot day. Overall Craft Kitchen won't be my first choice unless they make some major improvements. read more

Most everything about Craft was pretty mediocre to me. It's counter service -- which is fine, but the staff seemed extremely unorganized. We ordered off a very southern menu and a couple tasters. We first sat inside, but quickly moved out as soon as table was available as their outside dinning has great views of the river and the Old Mill District. First of all, we got our food before I ever got my tasters. Once I finally got them about 5 minutes after the meal arrived, I was never asked if I wanted a full beer. Multiple staff members walked by, but didn't say much of anything. Food was decent, but I wasn't amazed. I had the blackened shrimp sandwich which would've been better over a salad or rice. Didn't try the others foods. Probably won't go back, wasn't awful, but wasn't great. read more

Came on the recommendation of Go magazine. They are correct in saying that you don't get a lot of food for the price. I had the turkey sandwich, a plain, pretty much no frills sandwich. It had two thin sliced pickles on it but nothing else which made it a very dry sandwich. A very small amt of chips came with it. Hubby had a blackened shrimp PoBoy that had a corn and tomato salsa on it. That was good! But again just a small amount of chips. My beer was good though. It is a much nicer looking place than the old restaurant. They just need to serve a bit more with each meal. read more

This is my second time to the pub and I am yet again blown away. The sandwich that I had "faux illy" was hands down the best sandwich I've had this year. Just came for drinks on the deck. Walked in and the gal at the ordering counter called us over. She explained we would order there and then get a number. She also explained we would have a server. We ordered drinks and she told us to keep the menu in case we decided to order food from the server. We had great friendly service, offered samples of beer before we ordered another round. We came to Craft Kitchen and Brew because we had a coupon, and I am SO glad we did. There were three of us, and we had: Brisket Sando with fries and chipotle sauce; Shrimp Po' Boy with mac n cheese; Burnt Ends with beans and sweet potato fries. Everything was very good, and our server was quite friendly mid accommodating. They seem to have done away with ordering at the counter, you get menus & order after seating. They have a brunch menu with some amazing items. Had the craft benedict, tasso ham and poached eggs on light, fluffy jonny cakes with an ancho hollandaise sauce. The bloody mary was strong & damn tasty. Yes, the food takes a little time, but it's prepared when you order it. It can get a little noisy in there. Saw some complaints that the silverware was in a jar on the table instead of place settings. It's not that kind of place, it's a place where people can get together, enjoy good food, good beers & make new friends. If your a snob & expect a "high class experience" this isn't your place. If you want good food & beer in a fun place with a killer view, then by all means go here. read more

The prices have gone up (significantly), the food has now made me sick twice and the service is indifferent at best. I think I could end the review here, but I won't. This review is based upon four visits to this restaurant in the last year. Each time I have ordered the same sandwich-- blackened shrimp po boy. The first two times I thought it was tasty and, though the service was mediocre, I liked the place. On visit #3, about six months ago, the Po boy gave me an intensely unpleasant gastro episode that kept me up half the night. I will spare you the details. I stayed away for several months but went back tonight, thinking that one bad meal must have been a fluke. Damn! Why, why why? First, the prices on the sandwiches (and perhaps everything?) have gone up. Last time I was here, they were, I believe $10. They are now $14. Last time, it took a while before I started feeling sick but this time my stomach started to feel queasy within minutes of eating the shrimp po boy. Is it possible they've added some ingredient the last two times that I've ordered this sandwich that just doesn't agree with my system? Or is there some issue here in the kitchen, with the food storage or handling or servers hygiene? I just don't know but I can assure you, I will not be going back, which is a shame because that patio is nice and I live 2 minutes away. read more

We were floating on the river on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and got thirsty. We got out of the river and found Craft Brewery. They have a patio with great views. We didn't have much cash as we were floating and told the waitress that we wanted to try a few beers. You would think this would affect the waitresses attitude but not at Craft. She was so pleasant and even let us move to a table in the shade. Beer was great. Service was excellent. We actually drove back the next day to get a growler. Amazing food, so many great things on the menu. The BBQ items are very flavorful, cooked well and just hands-down done RIGHT. Bloody Mary was yummy and we loved the garnish! We loved the kids play area, that was such a lifesaver and there were plenty of things to keep the kids busy while we got a little break. All the happy hour items are just wonderful. Fantastic southern style menu with a location right on the river. A buddy and I shared the shrimp po boy and the faux-illy; both of which I highly recommend! The shrimp is blackened so it has a little zing making it delightful on a sunny afternoon. While the faux-illy is a denser sandwich with a pepper cheese sauce that makes it hard to beat. I had no expectations. Came in with my husband for a craft beer and expected burgers and a dry chicken sandwich on the menu........ But NO!!!!! The food is amazing! Probably the best I've had in Bend. And that's a tall order. Unique tapas full of flavor. Had the Burnt ends tacos and roasted beet salad. My husband had the fried chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits. FYI: 2:30-5:30 all tapas $5 and craft beers are $4. This is the first review I've ever written and well worth the time. read more

This place is so great. I don't get the negative reviews either. They have great food with a southern bent to it, an awesome location with views of the river, and really great beer and drinks. We were lucky enough to sit outside 2 times in February when it warmed up a bit. The sun was on us and the river was sparkling. Highlights for us have been the Cubano sandwich, the Burnt Ends Bowl and the Loggers Breakfast. We had incredible Bloody Mary's and their Nitro Stout is like desert. My husband and I had a good meal and a nice experience here a few weeks ago, so I decided to bring a friend who had never been to Craft in for a girl night this weekend. We wanted to sit outside and enjoy the view, so we asked for a table on the deck. There were probably 2 out of ten, or so, tables occupied and we were led to a large picnic table at the far end where we would have missed out on most of the view. Since there were several open "2-seater" tables with great views, I asked if we could sit at one of those instead. Apparently, that was a mistake. We were seated without a word, given water and menus and that was the end of that. Two servers (one was the one who seated us) walked past us several times without acknowledging us: no "I'll be right with you", no drink order taken, NOTHING! A table of six came in AFTER us, was seated right across from us, and had their orders taken...still nothing for us. Needless to say, we left and went to Brown Owl which was packed with people and still managed to get us great food and great drinks, in a friendly welcoming environment. I predict Craft will be the next business to fail at their location if this is how they allow employees to treat their customers. There are WAY TOO MANY GREAT PLACES in Bend to waste time someplace like this. 2020 and Craft is in a new location with a totally new vibe. This is an instance of a business taking things down a notch as far as location and venue, but totally improving the experience. Craft is now a casual, inviting hometown spot in an industrial district where locals can come in and enjoy a good beer, some incredibly tasty tacos, and then top it off with a dessert cocktail and bonta gelato. This is counter service come-as-you-are casual that us Bendites need when we want to get away from the tourists. Come in leggings a flannel and a beanie and leave content... just what we were after. We watched our drinks sit at the bar for about 20 mins and weren't able to get ahold of our waiter. This had our favorite beer selection in town, but their t-shirt selection was limited. This is not pub food! It is closer to high-end fine dining with an incredible view of the Deschutes river to boot. Oh, and they make beer here. And the beer is goooood! You can't beat the happy hour food here ($5 tapas that are all incredible in their own right) so we gorged and drank to our hearts content. I would say this is the hidden gem of the Bend beer scene. This started poorly from the moment we walked in and went downhill from there. We walked in excited to see a nice looking brewpub on the water with a decent looking menu and sizable selection of beers on tap. Right away there was inattentiveness/aloofness from the hostess and this carried over to the servers. I felt like the place was staffed by a crew struggling during a soft opening. We were ignored for quite a while by multiple staff members. Once we got served there was no acknowledgment of the wait. The bathrooms and the play areas were both quite dirty for an otherwise nice looking place. The food came out at different times. The only redeeming quality was that the food tasted ok (3/5 stars) but not worth the price. I am sad to say we won't be returning. read more

Been twice and I'm going to make it my new go to place. Both times the food was really good. Love the chili lavender chips and the roasted beets. (I had real food too.) Staff was awesome. I recognized the beet dish from Mt. Bachelor and yes, it's the same chef. This is not fast food. Be prepared for them to take the time to do it well. Enjoy some drinks while you wait. While visiting the old mill breweries in Bend we stumbled across the Craft Kitchen and Brewery. They have happy hour consisting of $4 drafts and $5 appetizers. We ordered 4 appetizers the pork belly lettuce raps, redneck nachos, burnt end tacos and chicken & waffles. All of them were great, but the chicken & waffles were awesome! We ordered two more. The service was excellent. The server was glad to answer all of our touristy questions. The guy in the gray hat was equally helpful! The beer we had was good but the chicken & waffles stole the show. They are also in a great location. We looked over the Deschutes River and watched as people were tubing, paddle boarding and kayaking. Wonderful experience! Highly recommend! Our only regret is that we didn't discover it sooner, we are heading back to North Carolina tomorrow. Bummer! read more

No idea how to pour water, let alone a stout. More than 2/3 foam!?!?! I laughed when it was served to me. The female tender said it would settle, never in a million years. I then insisted that I get poured a new one that was at least half full. Tender was rude and annoyed. She brought back another. Same thing, 2/3 foam. I then informed her that it needed poured correctly and suggested a spoon. Then her and another tender feverishly scooped foam out of the glass while the tap ran(not the correct use of spoon). At least 6 pints went down the drain to hand me another beer with a 2" head. Beer was delicious. It was actually a potato stout or porter. Worst bar tending I've ever paid for. read more
