TLDR : it's a regrettable experience working with Crafted. This company lacks of integrity. Don't work with them Why 1-star: After project completion, whatever problems you encounter on their works you are on your own. Ironically, they called us the following day when they saw our precious reviews on Yelp and Instagram. As always, Jeremy promised to come, but once again NO SHOW. When we followed up, he kept saying he will come next week, and next week then becomes another next month. A year after, our problem is not fixed and Jeremy never shows up. This time we fouled our review on Instagram was deleted. Bravo - Don't have time to fix our problem, but have time to fix their social media present. With $8k spending, we expect at minimum SAFE finished product; however, the wood plank popped up 2 months after installation. It creates a hazardous environment as we tripped over those spots so many times. If you treat your work seriously and professionally, be responsible and fix issues your customers have.

At first, we were thrilled with Jeremy's design when we received the proposal, the yard transformation job was fairly quick and we were quite happy with the result. BUT THEN... I saw a problem in one of the pictures Jeremy sent me after the limestones were poured (I was out of town on the day of). The limestones were getting onto the driveway and it just didn't look complete, he told me wait until I am back in town and let him know after seeing it in person. After looking at it in person, there should definitely be a metal trim to avoid the limestones from getting onto the driveway, then Jeremy said he can add the trim when I return to place the plants. On the day of plant placing, I texted him to remind him about the metal trims, he didn't reply, called him twice with no answer, he texted me "on the phone" and didn't bother to call me back. Two days later, finally got a hold of him on the phone, he had the guts to say that he doesn't believe the house wouldn't sell because of the missing metal trims. I told him that it is out of his business because all he needs to care about is doing his job right, then he said it will be extra cost to place the metal trim there. I don't want to get anything for free, but why wasn't it communicated 3 weeks ago, why did he say he would fix it? If you can't back your work/what you have said to your customers, then don't run a business. The bottom line is if there is any problem and you still want the same communication efficiency with Jeremy, you should have everything communicated (AND FIXED) before the last payment is made. Once you pay the last portion, he becomes "very busy". Great design and work is decent, but this company will go down due to the lack of business EQ and integrity. I WILL NOT refer any of my future clients to this company for sure. STAY AWAY!

If I could give Crafted Outdoor Living a 0 star rating I would because that is what they deserve. Here is the ONE positive point I can make for Crafted - the design they came up with was top notch. Jeremy (or Brent - it's very bizarre, he goes by both or either but when asked about it said point blank that it was two different people). They give you the design for free - I truly believe this is the only worth while part of our experience and the only thing they could have actually charged for but I digress. The project started the last week of June (ahead of the mid-July estimate). At first, we were ecstatic! When meeting Jeremy and the crew at our house for the first time he estimated it would be a 3-5 week project. We were delighted however, with the early start it meant that several of our large items (hot tub and hanging daybeds) might not make it for delivery and install (they were slated to be delivered end of July which would have been fine if the project had started mid-July as anticipated). Because of the early start and estimation of 3-5 weeks to complete, we contacted the hot tub and daybed providers and paid for rush shipping. This was our first of many mistakes. The crew at first seemed capable and started promptly with pouring cement - for the first week, we were pleased with the work effort and timeliness however, things started to fall apart quickly. The first thing we noticed is that the cement was poured and no consideration was made for our existing irrigation. On a walk after the crew left we saw our irrigation heads left uncapped in areas and immediately feared that the cement patios were poured OVER uncapped irrigation points. We immediately raised concerns with Brent/Jeremy. He said they were "experts" at irrigation and not to worry. The next day, he was onsite with workers "diverting" irrigation. Again, this seemed very reactive and only happening because we prompted it. This trend continued - we were observing the crew daily and assessing work and reporting the progress and many issues to Jeremy. Jeremy was a ghost PM. He responded to emails, but we as paying customers were doing his job. We were overseeing work daily and assessing issues and progress and reporting it to him. This became grueling especially as issues continues to present themselves. There are so many issues with the project I can't get into them but here's a summary: 1. Irrigation issues 2. Quality issues - the outdoor tiling on our patios required 10 days of work to fix and in the end an inspector has still told us there are numerous issues that will end up costing us a large amount to fix; our wood finish ceilings are the same; our outdoor kitchen cement counter already has cracks; the entire thing looks so unprofessional - we likely could have DIY'ed it better 3. Timing - Jeremy said the project would be 3-5 weeks, it turned into a 11week project and at the end the crew and Jeremy left us with a mess anyways 4. Care of existing property - Jeremy and his crew destroyed siding on our house, left the worksite a disaster regularly throughout the project (nails, other dangerous items and we have three dogs). They also broke our ceramic smoker. They took the cost of replacement off our final bill but Jeremy made it like that was a FAVOR and not just an expectation when they broke it. 5. Communication - Jeremy never proactively talked to us, everything was reactive. We had to constantly send emails and texts to him and the company. He was rarely on site and only when we aggressively requested situations fixed did he show up (far too late) 6. Landscaping - we purchased $5K worth of trees and because the crew did not prep the ground or trees correctly three of them are dead. When we contacted Jeremy about this he refused to replace them saying they arrived alive and what happened afterwards wasn't his problem (despite the Crafted crew not putting them in correctly or setting up the irrigation correctly). 7. Subcontractors - Jeremy subcontracted an electrician who on the first day on site cut our Internet cable. We both work from home and this is our work lifeline. When we asked the electrician for his insurance info to make a claim he said he didn't have insurance. Don't expect a professional experience from this company/their crews. The pictures speak for themselves. It's terrible that this company doesn't deliver a professional experience or finish. They had numerous opportunities to "make it right" - we are left with dead landscaping and a backyard that looks OK if you don't look too closely. Overall, we spent $100k on our backyard and it wasn't worth a tenth of that and we will be paying for fixes for years to come. The company has been FAR more responsive about this review than they were with us when we were paying clients - very telling.

We hired Jeremy to overhaul our small back yard. We added a deck and poured pavers to expand the patio. He built 2 raised gardens, trellis for jasmine and brought in (literal) tons of dirt to level out the yard. This also involved moving around and raising the existing sprinkler system. A decent sized job. Jeremy and team were professional, did very thorough work and didn't cut any corners on quality. They left the site very clean every day and did all the work in just several days.

Highly recommend!! Jeremy was so easy to work with and his expertise was much appreciated. From pergola design to the plants that would do best given the shade in my backyard, he handled it all. Would absolutely use again and recommend.

    unevenly spaced and sloping step

To start with, we have also complained about this company on google reviews and they have taken their company page down because their reviews were so bad. Secondly, Jeremy owned another company named Green goes landscaping which is reviewed here on yelp. He changes the name of his company to hide the bad reviews. Our first complaint with crafted was their lack of communication during the entire project. There were multiple WEEKS where the workers didn't show up when scheduled. Jeremy (part owner and project manager) would repeatedly promise someone would be there the next day. When they wouldn't show up for days at a time I had attempt to track Jeremy down to ask if anyone was going to show or now. Since he was rarely there to oversee the project he wouldn't even be aware his workers weren't showing up, or he was lying about them being on another job. If I wanted to be a PM for a landscaping company I would start one. Despite multiple complaints to Jeremy and the office manager they were no call, no show repeatedly. This leads to the second complaint. Jeremy would disappear from the face of the earth and not reply to text messages nor emails again, for WEEKS at a time. We had to reach out to their office and even they would rarely provide timely replies. There was always some excuse as to why they couldn't or wouldn't show up to the job site or communicate with us in a timely manner. Even after we pleaded for just a consistent thread of communication so we would have some idea of when to expect workers or when the work would be completed or fixed, still nothing improved. We were very patient with this company when we certainly shouldn't have been. When Jeremy did actually show up on the site, he would rarely stay more than a few minutes, and couldn't even communicate with the workers in Spanish. Many things in the original design were done incorrectly because he wasn't there over-seeing the project. The job they did building our deck and the staining was done so embarrassingly poorly that we now have to hire another company to come fix their mistakes. Jeremy had promised multiple times to come by and show us a wide selection of choices on scrap wood so we could choose the stain we wanted. When he finally showed, he had two choices for us, obviously hastily purchased at a big box store on his way over. We didn't like either and noted we would prefer a more natural clear stain. Without any further acknowledgement they arrived and used Thompson's water seal directly on the bare wood instead of stain. They also applied it so thickly, it didn't dry and became splotchy within a few days. When we complained about this they admitted their mistake and promised they would hire someone to come sand and re-stain the deck. After months of waiting and chasing them down and threatening to sue them, they finally hired some people who obviously didn't know what they were doing, as evidenced by the photos. We, and by we, I mean myself AND Jeremy both learned from another deck staining company that they didn't sand down far enough to remove the sealant and used wrong kind of stain. In all fairness the stain was chosen by my wife and I, because Crafted couldn't be bothered to help. Keep in mind however we don't run a company that claims to build and stain decks. We had to take time out of our busy days to go and do this. This is something that Jeremy and Crafted should have known, but didn't. We had to have all the stairs on the deck replaced because they sloped downwards at a dangerous degree that created a slipping and falling hazard. They sent over a "carpenter" to fix the stairs at one point, but when he left they were actually worse than before. The deck boards were unevenly spaced in many places and became squeaky and loose within just a few weeks. We also hired them to install some landscaping that included plantings and irrigation. The first sign that things weren't right was that the workers showed up without Jeremy, who said he would be there to oversee the planting, and asked us to show them where we would like them planted. This is why we hired and paid for what we thought was a landscape designer, so we wouldn't have to make those decisions. Once Jeremy actually showed, many of the plants died after planting because the irrigation was installed improperly. I had to have the company that originally installed our irrigation to come out and fix their mess. We were also invoiced for outdoor lighting that was never installed and this was not refunded. Once we were fed up with their excuses and lies, we fired them and told them not to come back on our property. We have sent them invoices from other companies we have now hired to fix their work, which they are refusing to pay so we now have to deal with taking them to court. Unless you want to go down this road as well, and you can see from the other reviews how common this is, I recommend moving along and choosing another company.

If I could give Crafted and Jeremy 0 stars, I would. COL/Jeremy are not just bad builders, they are dangerous. Our experience mirrors that of Jose C almost exactly. The difference being that our lessons came too late. We spent over $100K with this guy and have had to spend almost an equal amount re-doing everything. Here's a sample of the punch-list: - Firepit: Used smaller, cheaper pipes for the gas firepit that needed replacing immediately. This required our whole backyard to be dug up to re-lay the new piping. Plus, the pipes were at an inadequate depth that would have never passed inspection due to the danger they presented. While the new crew was doing that, they discovered that some of the irrigation pipes hadn't been capped off and had running water coming out of them that could have destroyed the foundation of our house and all of the backyard remodel, including an outdoor kitchen. - Plunge pool: again, smaller, cheaper pipes immediately begin to present a problem for proper circulation. These had to be replaced, requiring a different crew to dig up our front yard this time to properly install the piping. We also had to replace the pool equipment, heater, app, etc and add drainage pipes in the pool, a safety precaution they had skipped. Again, another problem surfaced while the reno was happening - the pool wasn't properly grounded. They had to pull up our decking and pavers and carefully jackhammer into the side of the pool to locate the rebar (which wasn't done to code either) and then put it all back together after adding the grounding elements. There were many more small items, including several thousand in concrete clean up, downspout and siding repair, repainting, and plant replacement due to the a total disregard/disrespect for our property. We fired COL/Jeremy in January 2020 prior to the job being complete and were fortunate enough to find another reputable contractor who we trust implicitly and was willing to take on the risk of the repairs. I had refrained from writing any reviews up to this point because I wanted to move on and not have the anger and frustration from my experience resurface. But then I got a call today that our entire concrete/seating area and tile around the firepit has to be demo-ed and replaced because it is massively cracked and leaning dangerously into our neighbors yard. Why, you ask? Because it was built on the cheap again - without re-bar and utilizing a wooden fence as a form. This will add another $15-20K to the $60K we have already spent in repairs. Let me repeat, COL/Jeremy are not just bad builders who do things on the cheap and cheat their customer, they are dangerous. They only care about money and do not care about the quality, or more importantly, your and your family's safety. I honestly think they don't care if someone dies, as long as they get paid: No grounding near a pool. Gas pipes just under the surface of the ground. Literally tons of concrete perilously close to crushing anything in its way. We would sue them, but it's pretty clear they have no money and it would cost us more than it would cost them. I wish we had been more diligent in our research before hiring these guys. But I hope our experience is helpful for anyone that was considering COL/Jeremy. One word: Don't.

This is a very conflicted review, but it is also an honest review. Jeremy and his crew do exceptional work. He has a remarkable eye for landscape design, he is very skilled in the work he leads, and his team is very considerate and skilled as well. His pricing is very reasonable and the outcome is very good quality. From that perspective, I cannot say enough good things about him and the company. That said, there is a *huge* issue with communications and finishing the job. They made a mistake and did not brace a concrete shelf that has since cracked. Despite promising to come out and fix it September 19th before a big birthday party, it still isn't fixed and I had to spend $200 buying a stand for my Big Green Egg to use it for the party. They still haven't finished work that I paid them to do. My final payment to them was on August 16th and today is October 20th. They also estimated that the work would take 2-3 weeks; it took 2 months. Now I didn't believe the 2-3 week estimate, so that didn't bother me all that much and I knew supply chain issues were occurring. So that part is fine. However, much of my yard was dead because of the length of time it took and he promised to have his crew come out and lay down some new sod free of charge. Very nice gesture on his part. But again, promise made almost two months ago that still hasn't happened. So now I'll have to pay for that also. I truly, truly want to give them a better review but I simply cannot give more than two stars due to the serious communication problems. As I said before, they are an absolutely incredible team that does beautiful work. Once they can fix their communications and scheduling issues, they will be 5-star easily. Unfortunately, that is not now. So I will say you should absolutely hire them, but do NOT pay them a dime unless/until they provide a defined schedule, they execute to it with exactness (within reason), and they have completed 100% of the work to your satisfaction.

We worked with their designers to develop the plan, and that process was smooth and collaborative. They listened, had good instincts, and were happy to iterate with us until the design felt right. However, Southern Landscaping and Design came back with a quote of just over $28,000--nearly three times the amount of the other bids. I'm sure they do great work, but this level of pricing feels excessive and difficult to justify. I wanted to share this as a heads-up for anyone considering them. We wanted so much, including but not limited to: ripping out an ugly stone patio off the house's back to replaced it with a roofed over decking floored dining area, then adding an open patio area with metal planters and built in decking bench seating. We wanted landscape lighting, welded metal edged flower beds, more planters, and by the time the project was almost done we added in having them do high quality artificial turf. They had to do wiring, plumb a propane line for a propane fire pit they made out of a huge boulder, roofing, metalwork, decking, planting design and implementation...they reworked and updated our irrigation... It was a lot and they were just amazing at all of it. Jensen cared as much about having everything done right as I did - and I am very picky about quality. We had an old and non functioning irrigation system that we inherited from the previous owners and rather than just ripping it up and charging us for a new one, Aaron spent hours servicing and getting it to work, and then customized it to work with the new yard layout.
