I took my my 2014 Ford F-150 FX4 4x4 here for a dent and scratch repair caused by an ice pile denting the right front fender. My insurance company USAA recommended Craftsman - so I opted to use them, even though there were a couple of bad Yelp reviews. Some of my other friends who are not on Yelp have used Craftsman and liked the results. I brought the vehicle in and John inspected it and wrote up the quote and communicated with USAA. The work was done within the time quoted. Actually they were done a bit earlier than estimated. And the work was very good. I was impressed. I'm docking them a star due to a communications issue. I have a separate small dent on the drivers door that was not part of the ice dent. I asked about getting it fixed. John advised that for a very small dent such as this - they'd call in a specialist that deals with popping these small dents out. I asked him to take care of this. It would be handled separately from the USAA quote. When I went to pick up the truck - I found they had not done this. I asked John about it - he apologized and advised he had forgotten. He told me he would give me the contact info and I could contact them and make arrangements. I will eventually do this - but now you've wasted some of my time when you told me you would handle this. Negative Stars! I would not suggest anyone take their vehicle there unless they want their vehicle back in worse condition.. Had minor damage to the front passenger corner of my bumper/tire panel and received my beautiful Camaro back like a hooptie! The bumper did not match up properly to the headlights, they forgot to put the rivets to secure the bumper under the hood, did not put my custom grille on properly, had scratches on the new paint job they did, put blue ink on my italian leather seat, put the GM chicklet on the wrong spot of my car.... Really do I need to go on? I have a beautiful Camaro which I have put much detail and money into. They destroy my car and say it isn't that bad? Seriously? They wanted to redo the work and I think not. If you screw something that simple up, no way!! I could have done a better job and I am not a professional! Check out the photos before they remove them! NEGATIVE ONE: The actual work done was good. The customer service was the worst I have ever dealt with in my life! The lot actually damaged my 6 month old vehicle, and then I was forced to act in a manor I detest, just to get them to fix their own damage. I actually ended up taking my car off of their lot with damage they caused unfixed. I refused to leave my vehicle with them for one more moment. GOOD customer service would have made a 100% difference. The work itself was in fact good. But I would never advise that anyone deal with ANY of their locations if in fact they are all owned by the same company. Find another body shop folks. . read more

Not impressed. Took my BMW in for some fender work. The head light came back with some kind of hazing on it. They acknowledged the mistake but I would have to take it back for another day's work on it. Some of us have real jobs and can afford to keep taking days off or be without their cars for this amount of time. Today, I went in for an estimate and apparently you need an appointment now. So be prepared. Schedule the estimate before you go in or you'll get turned away. I left and went to Earl's in Manassas, stopped in, got the estimate and scheduled the work in under 15 mins. IMHO, Craftsman has too much work, forgot customer service and rush their jobs. They have a convenient location, that's about it now. read more

Craftsman Auto body in Gainesville is the absolute WORST shop I have been to! I hit a deer and went to the shop, did a horrible job the first and second time my car was there. Not only the second time my car was there when I got it back that everything was still messed up I had a HUGE scratch that went into my paint on my bumper and they tried covering it up with CLEAR COAT. Then it was taken back the third time. I can STILL see inside my bumper from both headlights and my fender I can still pull apart. Then I was on my way home from Kings Dominion and my Break Fluid light came on! I knew right off the bat when I took it home that they had done something to my breaks, they had to bleed my breaks. Fine, but once you do that refill the break fluid! HORRIBLE shop! read more

My wife and I took her 2010 Toyota Corolla here after my wife hit a deer a few weeks ago. I was apprehensive after reading through some of the reviews but Craftsman Auto Body was recommended to me by a coworker so we decided to give them a try. When we dropped the car off, we met with the estimator and came to the conclusion that Allstate had not written up enough of the damage to our vehicle. Craftsman contacted Allstate and had the claim adjusted to cover all of the damage that needed to be fixed. We dropped the car off Tuesday night last week and it was finished by lunch time the following Monday. I received a call from Craftsman on Friday just to give me an update on the status of the progress which was great. Craftsman auto body did great work, the car looks better than new and the customer service through the whole process was excellent. We hope that we don't need to take any vehicles to them again any time soon but we would have work done with them again if needed. The lifetime warranty on the work they performed gives great peace of mind as well. This was my 4th experience as a car owner taking my vehicle to an Auto Body Shop and it was by far the best. (2000 - Damage to my 91 Saturn after being hit in a parking lot - Philly area) (2005 - Damage to my 99 Saturn after hail damage - Daytona Beach) (2010 - Damage to my 06 Saab after snowstorm - Shop in Manassas) I had to replace the engines in both Saturns and have had many service trips for mechanical issues for all three of my previous issues. I have more experience than I would prefer working with mechanics and auto body shops and Craftsman was one of the best shops that I have worked with for communication and quality of workmanship. My second time at this shop today. First was for a fender repair a few years ago. They did a great job. Today was for a part of the rocker panel that had been snagged backing out of the garage and was loose. Fixed on the spot and at no charge. Nice folks and good service. read more

Terrible. We took our car here for some minor body work. It took over two weeks just to get an estimate appointment because we were paying cash vs insurance. The it took another three weeks for the actual appointment. When we picked up the car no one did a walk around to review the work done. My husband found a piece of plastic that was suppose to be reinstalled left INSIDE the engine......oh so bad. Then, to top off this terrible service, we went over the invoice ad. They charged us for a bumper with sensors installed in the bumper but the original bumbler did not have these sensor....so they over charged us for a part. We went back to question and discuss theses issues and the adjusters responds was " Ummm....well". Nothing. Unprofessional. And fraudulent. Do not use read more

I've had my car in here for two car-deer incidents and they did an ok job. There were some flaws, but I got over it. I took it back once because the headlights were aimed outward and they said they fixed it, but they didn't. I got in a minor fender bender so called them again and again and again. When someone finally called me back, they said it would be TEN DAYS just to get an appointment for an estimate. I called the Craftsman in Warrenton and they got me in the same day for an estimate and they took it in the next business day for the repairs. This is the best part - they said whoever replaced my headlight (Craftsman in Gainesville) did not put the seal on and water was leaking into the headlight. I told them who did that and they agreed to fix it at no cost. Go to the Craftsman in Warrenton - it's not far from the Gainesville location and they are super nice and efficient. read more

Went here as USAA said they were an authorized shop. Will never go back again. Had to wait a week just to have it looked at. After we accepted their estimate and started repairs, the end date changed at least 3 times. Were told twice along the way that they would call us and they never did, I always had to call them to find out what was happening. On the day it was supposed to be finished I called early in the day and they said they were cleaning my car. (I don't care if it's clean, I just want my car back.) I let them know I needed it sooner rather than later and we agreed on a time 4+ hours later. When I arrived it was not ready. Front desk staff was pleasant, and car looked good given the cursory look I took at it given I was in a rush, but all the delays were deal breakers for me. They seem to be a busy and full service shop but their parking lot was overflowing and I was not the only customer there who didn't seem to be getting the service they wanted/expected. Not sure if they're understaffed or what, but I will go elsewhere if I ever need bodywork on my car again. read more

This place never ceases to amaze me! Having had work done here a few times over the years (excellent work) they were first in mind during a crisis for me today. There has been a lot of road work near my home I.e road painting. Needless to say I was lucky enough to have driven over an area that obviously wasn't dry. Resulting in paint transfer to my vehicle. Here I am with a brand new truck with white paint splashes on each side! Wth!! Anywho, I contacted the body shop assuming I'd need to make an appointment. Nope! I was told to come in and they could see me right then. Immediate relief lol. I arrived and was assisted right away. The gentleman was very kind and offered to take care of the problem with no worries. I was in and out in 20mins. Seriously the best customer service I've experienced in a while. As a customer service manager, I know good service when I get it. Completely exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this shop. As this will most likely not be my last time there :) read more

I took in may car after being clipped on the fender while parked. The work on the outside of the car was great, as well as their communication but as soon as I got it back (which was when expected) it came making this horrible scratching noise. Before taking it back, I had another shop quickly look at it and they had told me they dented something on the inside that was causing that noise. I took it back and of course they fixed it, but stating that it made that noise because of the dust that got trapped while it was in the shop. All they seem to care about is making sure you give them a "10 star" rating when the survey person calls you. read more

Craftsman Auto Body in Gainesville did an excellent job on my Civic Honda and I would also like to mention that a month or so later I hit a guard rail after hydroplaning while coming around on a ramp in all the wet weather we were having at the time. It damage my back bumper. I went back to Craftsman and asked them what they thought. It was a fairly large split in the seam where the 2 parts come together on the back bumper. They took it back to their shop and 30 min later had repaired the seam and charged me nothing. What a blessing they were to me. I think you'll find nothing less than quality workmanship and a bunch of nice folks. read more

My passenger side mirror was damaged and I called my insurance to get it replaced. They sent me to Craftsman near my home and they did a quick estimate,and ordered the part. This was on a Thursday around 1:30p.m. I was told the part would be in early the next week, and they would call so I could come up and they would pop it on for me. I could wait for it. Well by Tuesday evening, no call from them, so I called. They just said they would have the part on Wednesday. Still no call, so I called my insurance company back to complain. The guy who set up the repair called the shop and said that the part was sold to someone else, and they promised to have the part today or would pay the difference between a used/ new part. Well, when I called, the woman I spoke with told me a different story. She claimed the part came in damaged. I told her what the insurance claims person had told me, and she acted like she didn't know about it. She said they are still ' looking' for a part, and would get back to me in a few days. I just hung up. I called my insurance man back and said nevermind that place, they are jerking me around. They informed me they had already paid Craftsman for their estimate! I guess that is the insurance companies problem now. I plan to go to a dealer and have it done! I say, don't bother with this place unless you want to waste your time. read more

This place is the worst auto body shop I have ever been too, the customer service stinks and the service that they provide is so bad ! They have no communication what so ever, they don't return phone calls and they tell you whatever you want to hear to get you out of the shop. It took them 3 times to match the paint and called us every time telling us it was ready for pick up. They have no Quality checks on the work they do, they just waste a lot of your time .. After all of that I went thru with them ,they lost my keys to my car. They had to replace my key and key fob as well ... I wouldn't recommend them to anyone unless you have a lot of extra time on your hands and like be irritated ! It was suppose to be a simple fix ... Not sure on how they are still in business; very disappointed with the whole deal. I believe they are trying to change the name of the shop, wonder why !!!! I will be talking with my insurance company so they know not to recommend anyone to them ever again ... It shouldn't take 2 weeks to do a 2 day job ! Bad business .... !!! read more

I brought my car to Craftsman in Gainesville after being referred there by USAA. I'd read some reviews on other websites so was a little hesitant but I received top notch service. They asked me if it was okay to send my car to their Warrenton location which I agreed to. The repair was to my right quarter panel. The repair was done several days quicker than the estimate indicated and I received phone calls with updates on nearly a daily basis. The car was detailed when I got it back (both inside and out) which was a nice perk. I had no problems at all with the insurance covering everything, including the deductible since the accident was not my fault. I would definitely take my car back to Craftsman. My only negative at all was that the front desk person at Craftsman told me I would not be able to get a rental car until after the estimate was done. I called my insurance company and they said that they would cover the rental from the time I dropped off my vehicle for the estimate and repairs. If you have a question like that, check with your insurance company rather than letting another company speak on its behalf. Overall great service though. read more
