From the very first message, the entire experience was incredibly smooth and pleasant. MJ was highly communicative leading up to our appointment date. I had a lot of ideas, and she was extremely patient and accommodating as we went back and forth on styles. She even had me come in for a quick, in-person consultation beforehand, which was fantastic because it made collaborating and aligning our visions face-to-face so much easier. On the day of the session, the process was amazing. MJ constantly checked in to ensure I was comfortable. She has a remarkably light hand, there were moments where it felt like nothing at all. I highly recommend MJ, especially if you are looking for traditional abstract brushstroke work, though her talent and professionalism make it clear she can adapt to whatever style you throw her way. She completely exceeded my expectations!

I walked in and picked a set of earrings and off to see Eric, who literally made it painless. He gave me post-care instructions, and asked that I come back in 8 weeks for a follow-up visit and to shorten the posts. We just shortened the posts and it's been great. I've followed their care instructions and have been very happy. If you need a place where they keep standards high to protect you as a client and make things easy, this is your place. It is worth the money.

Instead of helping a nervous first-time customer he made us feel like our questions were an inconvenience. His behavior alone was enough to lose a customer. You can say what you want, but based on how we were treated, I believe we experienced racial bias. Whether you agree or not, that's how the interaction made us feel, and it was unacceptable.

I appreciate how Simba displays care for his craft, but there were many red flags during my experience. My partner and I had requested stainless steel right away for our piercings clarifying we didn't need a titanium upgrade as we have no sensitivities even after the sales pitches, but once Simba told us the price at the end it was much higher than originally quoted, so we corrected him and he said he pierced us with titanium. Not once in the process was this made known to us. This was an extra $40ish to our total that we had no choice but to pay, when we have no sensitivities or allergies and are used to stainless steel jewelry. Simba was very salesman-y and tried to have us purchase many things until I requested to take them off the total, which I get from a business perspective but it made things a bit uncomfortable. I was familiar with the products too as we sell them at my work, and they are not soundly necessary for piercing aftercare. Any clean saline spray works great. The main problem came with my vertical labret piercing, which the end ball fell out 1-2 hours after he pierced me. I was standing when it fell out, and i didn't even notice until I saw my lip. I had to go back and get it fixed, which I do appreciate that Simba came back to help and screw a new one in. Then, 2 weeks later, my piercing fell out again when I was sitting in a car on a road-trip to another state. I never touched my piercing or did high movements out of caution. Once again only noticed when I saw my lip in a mirror. It was an insanely stessful experience where my piercing came out from the top of my lip and I had to shove it back in with blood leaking down my chin during a food stop in front of my family. Appetite ruined. Though Simba referred me to someone he knew in the area I had to pay to get the ball replaced, and this piercer was amazing. Johnny from Club Tattoo. My body was in shock from everything and I was not all the way there but he was very kind and I wish he was local to the area. He mentioned that per Simba's instructions (which were rather outdated, uncommon, and bizarre: clean the piercing 3 times a day with a spray and then 1 more time with a specific foam soap), I was over cleaning my irritated piercing and needed to let it be instead. I was only spraying it 3 times a day as I thought the soap was overkill, and spraying it 1-2 allowed it to heal better. The real kicker was, once this piercer switched my bottom ball out (Simba was telling me to buy a whole new piercing), it never fell out again! Not even once. I was even worried as the jewelry base was different. And I was very careful out of fear at first but then I started continuing my workouts and being not careful at all, bumping it etc, it still never fell out and lasted me about 5 months, perfectly in fact, until I had the courage to downsize it with The Piercing Shop (they were also very kind, low stress, and told me not to pay more for titanium when I asked as a precaution bc stainless steel works just fine). I even considered going back to Simba to downsize but never got a response. I'm unsure how things could've gone so wrong here, and it was personally a bad experience for me and my partner whose piercing had no room to be downsized as well and hasn't healed well. 2 stars for the early effort in communication at least, but overall a very poor personal experience

Prices are insane, customer service acts inconvenienced, jewelry selection is limited, and the mean-girl energy is wild. The vibe is that you're putting them out. I had an old nostril piercing stretched, but choosing jewelry was hard. The person at the front vaguely showed my options and didn't do anything like show me the jewelry next to my nose, let alone remove it at all from the display. The jewelry turned out to be a smidge too big. Considering I saved up to pay over $100 and left a $10 tip, I assumed they'd want to help me out and have a happy customer. They were condescending and said the best they could do was 15% off a new one (from an already limited stock) or I could "email the owner." After hearing how emotional the situation was making me, I was told they'd call the owner. When I tried to follow up, they just hung up on me without saying anything. Three times. So professional! The fact they mention how many happy customers they have in the review replies is so backhanded and defensive and *unprovable*. If you have lots of happy customers, you don't need to bring it up as defense for customers that aren't happy--that is just invalidating client experiences. The replies to any negative reviews tell you a lot! lol ETA reply: I never asked you to take the jewelry back and was clear about that. I just thought I'd get a swap offer that wasn't insulting, esp considering the fee of $100. Instead of giving me like half off a small replacement piercing to have a happy customer. You chose to keep hanging up when I tried to get it dealt with. Wild how I was polite in person, huh? It wouldn't have been much buyer's remorse if I was certain I disliked it at first! and the selection was poor once we got down to anything not a hoop. Literally one small, half-full tray that again was not put anywhere near my nose for size ref. But of course I was polite! Wild to use me being nice and respectful like a normal customer to defend this lol. Watch your little video, please! The truly terrible attitude started when I called, to the point I was CRYING. Was absolutely dismissed without a hint of remorse. Glad the ill will of this experience will spread so y'all can keep another $20 piece of jewelry while losing good will like crazy.

The best piercer I've ever met! Craig was so kind and took my friends and I as a walk in today for two belly piercings and an upper lobe piercing. There are a lot of jewelry options and different price points for them. He was very patient and knowledgeable about bodily anatomy and piercing placement. However, my boyfriend was present during the appointment and heard the conversation firsthand. The comments about me needing to lose weight were made at least 5 times, which is why they made me uncomfortable. I also found the owner's use of the term "extra flesh" in his public response to be unprofessional and reflective of the concerns raised in my original review. Never once did I mention "extra flesh" so you see they literally body shame even publicly. I stand by my experience. While my piercing healed well with the titanium jewelry I selected, the repeated comments about my body and the pressure I felt to purchase more expensive jewelry are the reasons I chose not to return. -------- I originally booked an appointment here because they operate by appointment only. However, I was surprised to learn that both appointments and deposits are cash only. In a time when most businesses accept cards, Apple Pay, and other digital payment methods, this felt unnecessarily inconvenient. During my visit, I decided to get my belly button pierced. Unfortunately, the experience left a negative impression. Throughout the appointment, the piercer an Asian lady repeatedly commented that I needed to lose weight. These remarks were unsolicited, unprofessional, and made me uncomfortable. For context, I am 5'3" and approximately 123 pounds. Regardless of anyone's size or personal fitness goals, customers should not have to listen to repeated comments about their body during a piercing appointment. I came in for a service, not for criticism about my appearance. After that experience, I decided I would not return. Another issue I had was the constant pressure to purchase more expensive jewelry. I specifically requested titanium jewelry because I had researched it beforehand and wanted an option that is commonly recommended for sensitive skin. Despite this, I felt repeatedly pushed toward more expensive alternatives and was told I would be more likely to experience problems if I chose titanium. In my case, that was not true. My piercing healed without infection, and I was happy with my choice. Six months later, once my piercing had fully healed, I wanted to upgrade my jewelry and visited Platinum Ink Tattoo & Piercing. The difference in customer service was night and day. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional. They answered my questions without judgment, made me feel comfortable, and provided a much more positive experience overall. I was also surprised to find that both their piercing services and jewelry were approximately half the price of what I had been quoted at Eddie's. On top of that, Platinum Ink accepts multiple forms of payment, including credit cards and Apple Pay, and they welcome walk-ins, making the entire process much more convenient. I cannot speak to the quality of the tattoo work here since I only received a piercing. However, based on my personal experience, I would choose Platinum Ink Tattoo & Piercing without hesitation. Customer service, professionalism, and making clients feel comfortable should be a priority, and unfortunately that was not my experience here.

We called the same day and Rachel was able to schedule us for the date and time we wanted! When we got to the shop, everyone including the tattoo artists greeted us and were extremely nice. The shop was super clean and well decorated, which we loved. Rachel helped us the whole time and she is such a gem (pun intended ). She walked us through the whole process for the teeth whitening as well as the tooth gems and she told us exactly what she was going to do before she did it so there were no surprises. We had such an AMAZING experience with Rachel and the whole staff over at illusions. Everyone was super professional and so sweet to us!
