I came in with good expectations to get my septum and smiley pierced. I have a friend who gets pierced often here, so I hoped that the experience would go well. The lady who helped me never gave me her name (who I now know the name of) but I am assuming she was the store owner. She took me upstairs and got the supplies ready and the first thing I noticed was that she never asked me about jewelry for my septum, and immediately picked it out without showing me. She also threw in the piercing needles into a not cleaned metal bowl that was not in a vacuum seal package or any sort of disposable tools. I assumed it was the standard two ball jewelry that I was getting. The smiley went well, but when it came to my septum I was caught offguard of how she handled it. She never sanitized the area or showed me where she would place the hole--just went straight forward with no word and it was done. I was shocked to see how big the ring was and how there was no aftercare recommended except for that I could flip it up two hours after it was done. When I was driving home, I took my mask off and realized that my piercing had fell out. One of the balls had fallen off and it was hanging on by a thread, so I ended up painfully shoving the piercing back into my nose. I drove back to the store and asked for a ball to change. Bawa, the store owner, would not let me change it myself and made me sit down so she could screw it back on. She was counting envelopes when I came in, and with no cleaning or gloves she touched my piercing with her bare hands. I was uncomfortable and asked if I could please have something to sterilize the piercing in which she sprayed with hydrogen peroxide (which is a big no no for a fresh piercing). I left and ended up going to a professional studio to ask if my piercing was OK, in which I had to immediately take it out because she pierced my cartilage far up my nose. Also including my smiley, it is placed crooked and uncentered from my mouth. In all, I ended up going back to the shop today with my boyfriend and his father, scared that I would be yelled at because during my appointment Bawa was very admitted that she was a professional and didn't give me any room to speak. Bawa was not even at the shop, and the employee who was there refused to give me my money back, and claimed they were not certified to pierce, did not own an autoclave, and would not show us any sort of paper/documentation of profession. We ended up recording, and she didn't have a problem with us recording until we said that they have no proof of any legal documentation to allow them to pierce. Throughout the argument, the employee kept saying to just call Bawa, but Bawa through my conversation refused to give a refund and said to make a claim against her even when me, not the two I was with, tried to negotiate with her (she also ended up hanging up). I am disappointed with the experience, but you live and you learn. On top of it, a lady named Naomi who is a local and a regular with the store was vividly upset with them, as she claimed she has been coming around the store for awhile and they change their prices on clothing, hair dye, accessories, etc. often to whoever they are selling to to gain more money. She also said first thing when she came in to see us yelling with the employee that last time she was here, another person was complaining about the lack of sanitation and placement on piercings--and that they tried to charge that person again for piercings that they messed up. I don't recommend this place for anything, of course. Go to anywhere besides here period. Thank you. read more

I have been here multiple times and have received a few piercings from this place. Seeing that it's been a while since I've visit downtown Santa Ana and it was payday, and I was looking to spend money so was in the mood for a few new piercings. (Daith,tragus and new dermal) there was a young lady that was discussing getting pierced as I walked in so out of respect I figured let them take care of her while I look around a bit. I'll tell you I don't know what was more offensive. Being followed around the whole store or how unsanitary that piercing was done. First thing that was asked "do you want jewelry or did you bring your own?"(flag) girl said she brought her own then they sat her in the middle of the shop and normally they would at least take you upstairs then customer start digging through her purse saying I know it's in here somewhere pulled it out noticed the piercing was just floating around her purse not even in a bag nothing assuming they would do the right thing they had to sanitize it nope they didn't and third not only did I not see a proper set up but they didn't even clean the area on the young lady that they were about to jam a dirty needle into. Well I'm watching this all go down I am still being followed by an employee who is no more than a foot away from me. With that said, I am disgusted and will never be returning, especially for a piercer. Shame on you!!!! read more

I was disappointed to say that I did not share a wonderful experience here like the other reviews. I came at around 10:30 AM on Thursday but they were still closed, so I called to see if they were open. I was confused because their business hours say they should be open. A lady picked up saying she was close and if I could wait a few minutes. After about 5-7 minutes the lady, Bawa, arrived and I told her I wanted to get my 2nd lobe pierced. I expressed concern because I have sensitive ears and my first time getting pierced was when I was an infant. A man came in and Bawa seemed like she had business with him. She told me to wait upstairs so I did. I was a bit nervous because she seemed rush to pierce me and talk to the man. She used numbing cream on both my ears but put too little on my second ear. She had gloves and used the needle. My first piercing came out great. Not that much pain and little bleeding. My second, however, was not. I felt the pain because she used too little numbing cream and made a mistake. There was a lot of bleeding and I was really worried. My pants and shirt got stained from the blood dripping down. I felt that she could've done a better job if she took it slowly to make sure everything is done thoroughly. After a few minutes of cleaning up the blood, she tried to pierce it again and fix it. It still bled but not as intensely. She told me to clean my ears twice a day with hydrogen peroxide and that was it. No after care or even concern about the second ear which she did a bad job on. I will be extremely careful with my after care now that my ears are pierced. I fear that I might get an infection, hopefully not. The price was $30.99. Next time you feel like getting a piercing, make sure to have a piercer who is more thorough with their work!! read more

I came here with a friend for a nose piercing. I usually don't leave bad reviews, but I am completely appalled at this entire experience. I have had my nose pierced before so I was a little thrown off initially when the guy working just told us to sign and sit. He didn't really explain anything. He didn't even use gloves. After he pierced our noses, he advised us to put alcohol on it, which I know is a big no no. He also failed to provide any after care instructions. My nose wouldn't stop bleeding and he just handed me a paper towel and rang me up. I tried to look past that.... But my piercing just didn't look right. I thought maybe I was just overthinking it, but for my own peace of mind, I went to a professional piercing shop and the guy instantly knew it wasn't right. He looked at me and said "no that's not right. I can see it right now." He said it was a very poor job. The stud didn't even go through my nose and the stud they were using was completely wrong and not even long enough to go through. The piercer at the professional shop couldn't believe how bad of a job it was. On top of that, it didn't even go through all the way, it was just floating in the tissue so it was a surface piercing. The piercer removed it for me and now I'm left with black under the skin that won't go away and the professional piercer warned me that it may be permanent. I am very unhappy and wish I could get my money back. The man at this place should have known it was done incorrectly. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Yes it's cheap but it's definitely not worth it. The entire experience was dreadful and now I'll have a scar and black marking on my nose. Very unprofessional and almost frightening to know this man is providing piercings to others. read more

My friend and I first thought the place seemed a little sketchy at first because it was a supply shop in the lower level but the lady brought us to the balcony area where she kept her sterile items apart from the store. The lady who did our piercings has been doing this for years, she was very friendly, patient and made us feel very comfortable. She used numbing cream which, in some piercing place, don't use. We both used the needle method on our cartilage and it was pain free! I came here for a nose piercing and the experience was great! I was taken upstairs, shown my options, pierced, and advised on aftercare. I was extremely happy with my piercing, followed the instructions of cleaning with peroxide, but then I noticed an infection and a keloid developed inside my nose. I did some research and found that peroxide is THE worst you can use to clean a new piercing. Several sea salt cleanses and unfortunately the piercing couldn't be saved. please do not advise your clients to use peroxide, it is not safe. I recently got my nose re-pierced at another shop and was given all the aftercare products i needed with instructions. I'd recommend doing this for your clients to ensure safety and longer enjoyment of their piercing. read more

The lady--not Bawa--was cold and distant, almost like she seemed annoyed that I was yet another customer she had to serve. I would've appreciated it more if she had put in a little more effort to at least pretend to care. She took me upstairs and had me choose from 2 different sizes of earrings. I thought she would have offered to use numbing cream on me, but she didn't so I had to ask. She also did not wait very long to let the cream take effect. Immediately after cream application, she stuck the sterile needle (that came from a sealed package) into the cartilage area of my ear and easily inserted the earring. I could tell she was very experienced. The whole process took about 5 minutes. It's been a week and my ear is healing wonderfully. The piercing was done adequately and showed beautiful results, but the customer service was what ruined the experience. I remember walking in that day feeling so excited. For that, I had to take away a star. I've spoken to Bawa, the owner, over the phone many times before, and she sounded so kind and was so helpful and informative. If you want quality customer service and genuine friendliness along with your piercing, go to the location that she's at. read more

Can't believe this place hasn't been shut down yet. Their practices with piercings comes nowhere close to the sanitary needs for doing any body modification. No sterile needles or any form of sterile or disinfectant precautions at all and when I asked if they sterilized their needles with an autoclave they were dumbfounded not even knowing what I was talking about. Judging from other negative reviews it seems like they don't even know how to pierce anything other than a general ear lobe piercing with one person even having their nose cartilage pierced instead of their actual septum upon request, even the positive reviews left here have clear pictures of people getting pierced incorrectly with other yelpers seeming to not have any knowledge of how a correct piercing should be pursued. In addition to all of this the shop has their certification which proved their eligibility posted on a wall yet it's years past expiration. Brought my Boyfriend with me to get his done also, we originally went to get one cartilage piercing each, but came out with two!
