I went there with a "copy" project that needed to be done. I had two things that needed to be…read moreenlarged on a copier and a set of plans that I needed to copies of. I was there on a Monday afternoon and was told that it would be ready on Wednesday. They said I could pay extra and have it done immediately, or wait for them to do it, which would make it ready on Wednesday. I didn't need them immediately so I said Wednesday would be fine. They said keep an eye on your email because if they're done early, will let you know. I didn't receive an email so I went there on Wednesday afternoon to pick them up at which time they told me they were not ready but I could come back at 7 PM and they would be ready. I decided not to go back that night at 7 PM, but I went the next morning around 8:30 AM and guess what they still were not done. In fact, they hadn't even been started yet. So I had to wait and the young lady behind the counter did the project for me. I asked to speak to the manager, whose name was Shawn. I explained the situation to him, and he proceeded to tell me that it was my fault for expecting them to be done at the last minute?? I told him I didn't understand because I came in on Monday and they told me I could pick them up on Wednesday not that I said I needed them by Wednesday. He told me there is never a set time when projects will be finished; you just have to watch for the email that says they are finished. I feel like if I waited for an email I would be waiting still to this day. That manager, Shawn was absolutely useless and had no customer service abilities. Mind you I wasn't asking for anything from him, just letting him know the situation. You can imagine, I will not be back to this location or probably any location for this kind of need. Moving forward I'll most likely find another place that can do the job in a timely manner.

In the middle of my printing frenzy, I ran out of paper. COMPLETELY OUT. I was unable to leave my office and unable to keep printing my extremely time sensitive documents. What was I to do? Then I remembered seeing a humble store on the corner of Legion and Plum, "The Creative Office," I thought to myself, "Yeah, I'll call them!". Thank God and all of his angels that I did call. I spoke with their darling receptionist, Lynika Clark, who then transfered me to my office supply angel, Wendy Mitkowski. Wendy could hear the distress in my tone and (presumably) she could feel the stress oozing from my pores. Wendy listened me to through my panicked gargle and she placed an order for me for one case of paper. One case! A measly amount compare to the more profitable accounts she holds; but it didn't matter. Wendy treated me and my small company just as she would the Queen of England. Within an hour a dashing young delivery man opened our heavy front office door with his meaty muscles. "A delivery for Abbey?" I was weak in the knees. Not from the delivery driver (duh), my knees were weak because my delivery came even EARLIER than Wendy promsied! She is the true Queen of Office supplies. Every time I place an order with her, I kick myself because I remember how young, and naive I was when I went to (puke) Office Depot. Wendy is an angel, my saving grace. Wendy Mitkowski is everything that I am, and everything that I am not. A true American Hero.

Joe walked me through the entire process clearly and effectively, he showed me a variety of chairs with a range of features and budgets. In the end, I settled on a Hayworth Fern chair. I absolutely love it! I was able to select the colors I wanted for my chair and added a lumbar feature which has helped with my back pain. I've had to bring my beloved laptop in for maintenance a few times now (keyboard needed to be fully…read morereplaced the first time, the second time was last week to wipe some malware off of it) and both times I've had my case handled by the same guy, TJ! Not only did both cases get handled superbly, but he offered regular check-ins about the process while asking about anything I forgot to mention to be sure he had the full picture, and he was more than happy to explain what he was doing and why (which I always find very fun!). The keyboard replacement was $125 and the malware wipe was $175--the original estimate I'd gotten for the malware wipe was much higher, but he handled everything like the pro he is and got my laptop back to me as quick as he could. I've also sent a phone in to be repaired, and while unfortunately it couldn't be saved even with part replacements ("catastrophic internal failure" type stuff), he DID try as many things as he could think of to try to get it working again which I am incredibly grateful for. He also put me on the path to people who might be able to extract my data despite the state of my phone! This whole deal was $87. This shop is thorough in their work and the workplace has the kind of vibe you get when the people working there actually enjoy it. Definitely the kind of place I'd ACTUALLY recommend to friends and family, not just saying so on the non-existent exit questionnaire. You'll be in good hands here--even if they can't fix it, they'll still point you in the right direction.
