    Water with lemon

I have overlooked this place. Upon arriving the sign requested to wait to be seated. We stood there in awkward confusion waiting on the waitress to seat us. Instead she went behind the counter and asked how she could help us. Hello? We want to eat?!? I had to go to the counter to get menus. We seated ourselves. After reading the menu and the chalkboard we decided on what we would like to order. The original lady NEVER came back to help us. I had to go to the counter to place my order. We ordered the 4 cheese Quiche with tomato soup, the mushroom quiche with chicken lasagna soup and water with lemon and sweet tea. The food was out of this world. So because of the lack of service I rate four stars. This place could five star plus with properly trained employees.

    $10 and 30 min later.... I've been going to cranberries since I was a 5 y/o. What's up with these ever-shrinking portions???

$10 and 30 min later.... I've been going to cranberries since I was a 5 y/o. What's up with these ever-shrinking portions??? Nothing in my order required any sort of cooking, so it definitely shouldn't have taken so long to make this kind of food, even during busy hours.

Stopped in at roughly 45 minutes before close. I walked into an empty restaurant but then again it was the late afternoon at roughly 315 pm. I found Cranberries via Yelp. The reviews were good so I thought to give it a whirl. I was greeted by a woman whom I suspect is the owner. Tables were scattered about adorned with bright goldenrod picnic tableclothes. Menu was a chalkboard that listed all possibilities. I checked in and as a result was given a $1.00 off the Super Salad during my visit. I decided to go for it. I ordered the Super Salad. I selected chicken salad with two sides. I asked for the tomato bisque soup and an oriental salad along with Raspberry unsweet tea. My unsweet tea was delicious and came with a small pitcher to refill my glass. My meal arrived and the tomato bisque appears lumpy and thick. It was okay but not what I expected and not delicious. The oriental salad that I was told was all the rage was soggy and had pieces of uncooked Ramen in it. However the chicken salad was truly delicious. It's not a place I would dine at again but I was grateful for a homemade meal and friendly staff.

Cute place, simple and inexpensive menu with casual vibe. Two things I could live without: one, dirty tables (there's not really a waiting service here and that maybe why) and two, stale petite baguette pieces that come with salad. Come on, how can a sandwich joint serve rock hard, stale bread? I probably will give this place another try because the tomato feta salad is pretty bombing.

Delicious broccoli and cauliflower quiche! The tomato bisque warmed my soul. Well worth the stop!

I stopped at The Red Fork in downtown Erwin while traveling from Atlanta to Northeast Tennessee for…read morea funeral, and I cannot say enough about the exceptional experience I had. I was traveling with my dog, who was a bit on edge from the long road trip and barked sporadically whenever people left the restaurant. Despite this, Aiden, my server, welcomed us with genuine kindness and patience. He was gracious, attentive, and completely unfazed by my dog's nerves, which made an already difficult day feel a little lighter. Because I was dining with my dog, I waited outside until the owner noticed me through the glass door. He immediately came out, warmly apologized for not seeing me sooner, and made sure we were comfortable. The apology was unnecessary -- if anything, it was definitely too cold to be dining outdoors, but I had no other option. Their hospitality made all the difference. As someone who lives in Atlanta, has dined at many excellent restaurants, and even wrote food reviews early in my career, I was genuinely blown away by the quality of the food. The wedge salad at The Red Fork is, without exaggeration, the best I have ever had. The fresh herbs, homemade dressing, and the addition of pickled onions created a layered, unexpected, and absolutely delicious flavor profile. I also loved the whipped pimento cheese served with what appeared to be homemade crackers and locally sourced chowchow. It was delightful -- one of those memorable bites you think about later. Their beer selection is also thoughtfully curated, representing a well‑balanced mix of local and regional craft brews -- IPAs, sours, lagers, and more. It's clear that care goes into every detail of the menu and beverage offerings, all locally sourced and seasonally influenced. I honestly can't believe such an outstanding restaurant exists in my hometown Tri‑Cities area. Between the exceptional food, the warm hospitality from both Aiden and the owner, and the overall welcoming atmosphere, The Red Fork provided the perfect end to a long and emotional day of travel. I will absolutely return, and I highly recommend it to anyone passing through or living nearby.
