Friday fish fry has been very good, but when we went with a party of 6 on a Saturday night, for steaks, prime rib, it was not good at all. Prime rib was very tough and "rubbery" and had such a strong (garlic?) taste that you were overwhelmed with that instead of the meat. Steaks were just o.k. Veggies were strongly seasoned also. Service was good. But will not go back. We eat out often, and our ages that night varied from 30 to 65. Everyone was disappointed. Will not be back. read more

My husband and I went to thr Cranberry Inn for dinner. It was December 30, so understandibly busy. Upon entering the lobby we walked to the hostess station where John Sendra was working with a young waitrrss entering an order into the computer. We stood in front of John for at least 5 minutes before he even acknowledged we were there. When I was finally noticed I asked for a table for two. John told me they were extremely busy and the wait would be very long. He seemed very annoyed, frazzled and frustrated. I asked if he'd rather us just leave. When he said "no", we decided to wait. Thirty five minutes passed and John found us and told us our table was ready. Perfect, that wasnt that bad. We went to our table and waited for 20 more minutes without even being acknowledged by a waitress. My husband finally went to the hostess station to ask for menus. After waiting now for 35 minutes at our table without a waitress, my husband went to the bar to place our order. Back at the table, and 45 minutes after sitting down, John Sendra came over to tell us that he had to take our order again because it never got entered into the computer. When I said that I think we were going to have to leave because we'd been there for so long already, he became very upset, blaming the bartender for the error, didnt offer a solution and just said "fine" and walked away. Worst customer service I have ever seen. We are easy people, John could have apologized(which he never did), offered a discount, something, and we would have stayed. Although the remodeling and updating looks great, the service and the food seriously came up short. We admittedly came in a little later ( around 7:00) on a Friday night, so it's not like we expected to be seated right away, but being a party of only two, we had no idea we would have to wait more than TWO HOURS to be seated. When they finally got around to seating us, they were starting to close up shop around us. Not only did we feel rushed through the meal, it was mediocre, especially considering the price. We come from a metro area, so $15 to $20 per plate is the norm, but it stings to fork it over for bland food and bad service to boot. read more

My friend and I both had steaks tonight and they were cooked perfectly and very tender, they did lack seasoning. The veggie cabob was a nice addition to the meal. The potato was cooked well and the salad was very fresh. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The place is beautiful and we will definitely be back! read more

Wonderful food and service. Reasonably priced. If ever back in Mercer, we will dine here again. The first night I had a wonderful, perfectly cooked ribeye, baked potato, asparagus, salad, bread with cranberry butter. My husband had prime rib, with the same sides I had. We were both delighted with our meals and had plenty to take home. The second night, I had chicken marsala and salad, with egg rolls for appetizers. They were delicious. Everything is made there onsite. My husband had the chicken and ribs special, homemade french fries, and salad. We both noticed how good the fries were. It was explained to us that the special oil they use, retains each items flavor, without mixing the flavor of other fried foods with it. Desserts were very good. The first night, we had a "to go" turtle cheesecake. The second night, we had the strawberry and lemon layered cakes. They were all superb. You can't go wrong with the Cranberry Inn. Great, reasonably-priced food, in a super clean, friendly atmosphere. Meant to buy some cranberry butter to take home and forgot. Next time!!! read more

For those familiar with the area, this is the old Club 51 that has now become the premier dining spot in the area. The remodel of both the restaurant/bar and the adjoining motel give the place a very comfortable feel. The food is top notch, from varied steak offerings (try the steak barrels or the beef short ribs) to the always available and excellent baked french onion soup. During the usual busy season, I'd recommend reseverations, especially Friday Night Fish Fry and Saturday Steak Night. If you seek quick, cheap eats, look elsewhere. If you want a nice casual dining experience with great food, Cranberry Inn is worth the trip. The recent remodel includes a game room for the kids. Overall, very family friendly (less bar, more restaurant). The booths located in both the bar and main dining areas are always in demand. read more

The Cranberry Inn Motel was a very pleasant surprise! We came to Mercer to 4-wheel and wanted trail access. The Cranberry Inn was not only perfectly located to trails, but was beautifully decorated and reasonably priced!. We will definately recommend this place to others and will return ourselves! Also, the Cranberry Inn Restaurant has wonderful food and the bar serves great drinks! BRAVO! read more

We've been going to this restaurant since it opened. At first, the service was slow and I mean slow. Waited approximately 15 minutes before the waitress came to the table, but I attributed this to being a new restaurant so I continued to visit when we traveled north. The service improved, but as of late it's right back to the same slow service. I really tried to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt, but after this last visit I will not be back. I came in on a Sunday night and the note at the hostess podium said to see the bartender for a table. Not a problem until I went into the bar and the bartender wasn't there. Maybe no one being there would have been so much of a problem if I didn't wait for about 5 minutes before I had to literally go to the door to the kitchen and knock for someone to seat me. That should have been a sign for me to leave. The waitress was extremely unfriendly, didn't crack a smile, never refilled the coke without asking and came out to ask us how everything was AFTER we were done eating. I had to walk to the bar myself to get a refill on the drink. What made our final decision and put me over the edge was when we gave her $100 bill on a $70 check and she never brought us change AFTER I told her we needed change. Again, I walked into the bar to find her standing there doing nothing and she was so surprised when I asked her for the change. Really? Do you think you are getting an almost 50% tip when you didn't even refill my coke?! It's a shame because the restaurant is beautiful, one of the nicest looking places in town, but after this trip I will not be returning. No more benefit of the doubt....Very inconsistent. read more
