Good food, Decent menu, and good prices. Service is hit or miss. Seems like they are a bit understaffed. Are group hit the Iron horse twice but definitely would consider other options. No strong pull to go back but wouldn't complain if we did. If that makes sense.... Burgers are great! read more

We were in Hurley for 2 nights. The 1st day we decided to go to Iron Horse for lunch. We had the nachos grande and a burger with tots. The food was amazing for pub food. It was very busy and we were so impressed with the cook Jeff, who you could watch cooking from the bar. He was so organized, and made everything perfectly and efficiently. We were in Hurley, Wi. over the weekend and was looking for a good burger for dinner, the first one on the Yelp page was the Iron Horse Saloon, so we went there for Dinner and in all the burgers we have ever had in a bar, diner, saloon or any where will never compare to the burgers we had there. He had the Olive Burger and can't stop talking about it. The Patti melt was fabulous, the amount of topping make or break a burger and they know how to top them perfectly. Really cool bar in Hurley with neat vibe. Most places stop serving food at 9pm. This has late night service. Was there on a Monday night....had steak salad, hubby had the Big Chad burger. Food was prepared perfectly. Ironically the bartender (Ella) took the order and prepared the food. Was great service...better than other fully staffed places !! It was ok. Burger was huge. Very good. $11 salad in the tiniest little dish. Wasn't impressed with that. No seasoning on the steak. Waitresses were super nice. Just not impressed with the tiny salad at that price. Pretty crowded for a Thursday at 4. All around a nice place. read more

We stopped for a drink and snacks after a long UTV ride, we had a large group but the bartender/ waitress got everyone's order and drinks served pretty quickly, there weren't a lot of people there besides us, but she was the only one bartending and cooking. They have the best fried mushrooms, not the usual ones you usually get at bars, these are portobello caps and the they slice them the long way, then they are breaded and fried, so good. I did not expect such great food at a bar. We stopped in for lunch and shared sandwiches and Irish nachos. All of the food was excellent, especially the patty melt. Service was swift and friendly, which was impressive given that one person did EVERYTHING! It was a mix of locals who knew her well and some of us tourists. She was just as friendly and attentive to all of us equally. I've never seen a bar bathroom this huge and clean. Don't know if it stays that way at night too, but it was sparkling for the lunch service. read more

We were on a road trip and stopped for lunch. A great choice! Had the whimpy burger for 2 bucks and it was delicious. I had commented to my husband I didn't want a giant burger, as we still had a drive. This burger hit the spot. Size of a McDonald but freshly cooked, chopped onions, pickles and a toasted bun. Giving it one star because it looks like they just remodeled. I'd give 0 if I could. We rode into town and because we liked this bar last time we went it. We could tell it was different when we walked in last night. After we sat down we waited for almost 10 min as the bartender paced back and forth. All of 9 other people in the bar were already served so idk why we waited so long. When the bartender came up to us she had a sour look on her face like we were inconveniencing her. She was short with us and didn't greet us or barely acknowledge us. I heard another patron call her Liza or something like that. I'm not even sure since the music was blaring so hard I couldn't even talk to my spouse. Not sure why she had such a crappy attitude but we will not be returning next time we come to town. read more

The Chad burger! OMG! My dad is from Hurley and tries to get up there to visit and for reunion stuff every summer. I've been with them the past few years and once I discovered this burger I've insisted on going back each summer when we're there. Not sure we'll get up there this year with age/health issues with my parents now, but it's my go to for next time - whenever that will be! read more

I was not impressed to see a service fee. It is not my job to pay your workers. They do well they get tipped well. Prices have went up a lot! You get charged extra for a to go order. If you order a shot it comes in a plastic cup the size of the tip of your pinky. read more
